Isaiah 1
9 Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

Often I have heard church people say the church services seem "watered down".
Other doctrine are often set up today for people in the churches to follow. Sin is eliminated because it would not be popular among the people. Therefore true repentance evaporates and true salvation becomes far from the congregations.

God has HIS instruments of destruction to awaken HIS people that they would turn from that which is untrue and unwise in their churches.
When God's judgment comes upon them, the true people of God awaken and repent and turn back to Bible truths.

Isaiah 1 God says:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

Romans 1
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
They turned from God and worked out their own plans. They no longer sought the will of God nor asked God what to do but they were wise in their own eyes. They no longer needed God.

Isaiah 2
8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made:
Today in churches some "cross" themselves, trying to bless themselves by doing such as is not in the New Testament Bible to do.
Many other idols are set up today in churches.
People have set up their churches by their own thinking and have departed from the New Testament Bible in doing such. Idols are everyhwhere in the churches today.
The New Testament church began with the resurrection of Jesus, when Jesus was taken into heaven.
Ephesians 4:8 When HE (Jesus) ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
11-12 And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
But that didn't suit these evil men so they called their ministers by the following names: reverend, priests, pope, archbishop, cardinal, ministers of music, and such.
And they set up things which people could see with their natural eyes and worship in their churches and in their home.
They ignored the words of Jesus:
John 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

The day of the Lord will come:
Isaiah 2
11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:

Isaiah 2
18 And the idols HE shall utterly abolish.
19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when HE ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when HE ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?

It is amazing how puffed up men of this present world arise to make themselves something in times of crises. We see this all the time on our televisions. We listen to them and hear only wind coming through them. They puff themselves up into some form of greatness before our eyes, but they are men with mouths who say nothing though they speak great swelling words.
God says: "Cease from them."
