* God makes a way for us to operate in the spiritual gifts which HE has given to us.

The spiritual gifts are given by God to us to benefit the others in the church.  We use those spiritual gifts in helping of others while we live on this present earth.

I Corinthians 12

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.

Romans 12

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

I Peter 4:11

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I Corinthians 12:

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Standard places where the spiritual gifts function today:

* Bible classes

* Prayer groups

(In most church groups, they do not permit the gifts of the Holy Spirit to function in the main service but that service is controlled by man and the Spirit of God is not free to speak through whom HE wills.)

But this is not the way God set up the gathering of the church for the apostle Paul tells us the following:

I Corinthians 14:26   How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Proverbs 18:16   A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

As that gift comes forth from God, the people of God recognize that gift that is working in us and they know the "calling" of God that is upon us. And we are confirmed, by the elect of God, the church, that we have "the hand on God on us" for HIS work.

So as God opens the door, and gives us something to do or to speak, we present that spiritual gift which God has given to us for the elect of God, the church.
