Charity does not behave itself in an unseemly way
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
There are many "unseemly" ways before us today.
In USA there is a football show which has a woman singer on camera at the beginning of each show, flaunting herself before all who will watch and listen. I cannot stand seeing or hearing her for what she does is so ungodly for a woman to do. When this show comes on, I mute the sound of her "unseemly" voice and I close my eyes until this part of the show is over, not wanting to look upon such "unseemly" things.
I pulled the weather channel up and was shocked by the camera view. There was an extremely pregnant woman on camera, flaunting herself before all.
The godly women of the Bible did not do such things and neither should we today. The women of the Bible should be our example when we are godly today. Fashion and the era have nothing at all to do with the way we should behave ourselves today if we are godly, especially for women.
Lk. 1 (Mother of John the Baptist) ... 24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months...
We have become such an unseemly generation ...
I Tim. 2 ... 9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
For a brief time, there was a "fashion" where the top of the woman's dress appeared to have her undergarment (slip) showing. A woman in our church group appeared wearing such a dress and I told her immediately she should not wear such a thing as this, no matter what the fashion of the moment was ... it was unseemly ...
Charity does not exalt itself and unseemliness is one way women choose to exalt themselves ... in the way they walk, in their boisterous speaking, in their lewd appearance ...
A godly woman should not do such things as this.
Today TV advertisements are often unseemly ... I just close my eyes when such appears. And sometimes I see shocking things when I go to store to get groceries. I just turn away, grieved in my heart that women can do such things.
I Cor. 13 ... 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
