* The Holy Spirit who lives in each believer.

Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth and the Comforter.

The Spirit of God lives in each believer.

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

I Corinthians 6:19  What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

II Corinthians 13:5   Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

The work of the Holy Spirit in the believer:

Jesus says:

John 14:26   But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

(Comments by Joan Boney, apostle and prophet of Jesus Christ according to Ephesians 4:11-12)

Because of the Holy Spirit who lives in us, we know the will of God in the issues pertaining to this present life.

I Corinthians 2

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

The Holy Spirit in us brings to our mind that which God wants us to do in the issues of this present life.  The Holy Spirit speaks to us by thoughts that HE brings to our mind.  The Holy Spirit might bring a scripture to show us what to do or HE might brings a concept showing us the will of God in the matter at hand.

Examples:

* A woman told me of all the plans she had for the coming holidays, plans with her husband, her adult aged daughter, and her grandchildren.

As she was speaking, the Holy Spirit brought this to my mind:  "You are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God."

"That's right!"  I responded.

To other people it would look like I have no life.  I have no husband, no daughter, no grandchildren.  But my life is hid in Christ and when Christ comes, my life will appear with HIM.

Colossians 3:1-4   If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with HIM in glory.

In 2018, I fell at my house in Texas.  I was approximately 6 feet away from a phone.  I began trying to crawl on my right side.  My left hip and left wrist were badly hurt.  The pain was so severe that I was only able to inch myself toward the phone.

Then the Holy Spirit said to me by bringing a thought to my mind:  "You can do this."

By that word from God, I knew I could get to the phone.  I just kept trying.  It took 4 1/2 hours to get there but I did.

When I pulled on the phone cord, the receiver squirted to another area of the room.

But there was a Kindle tablet sitting under the table recharging.  I managed to get to the Kindle and send an email to our church group asking them to send ambulance.

The Holy Spirit speaks in a gentle voice, bringing information and direction to us.

By the Holy Spirit we have faith to go forward, knowing the will of God.

Jesus said to HIS disciples:

Acts 1:8   But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto ME both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

After the Holy Spirit speaks to us, bringing information to our minds, we have the Word which shows us the will of God and we are then able to go in the direction of God.

Without the Holy Spirit, we would have to do as this world does, stumbling about in our own wisdom and in the wisdom of other humans.

The Holy Spirit is a very great gift to the New Testament church.
