Luke 8 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God:

and the twelve were with him, 2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, 3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.

And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

18 Take heed therefore how ye hear:

for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. 20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. 23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish.

Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith?

And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. 27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. 29 (For he
(Jesus) had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. 32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. 37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for HIM.

41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying.

But as he went the people thronged him.  43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. 50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. 52 And all wept, and bewailed her:

but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. 55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

Confess your sins to God ... not to man

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

An American Indian potter, Margaret Tafoya, told me this story.

She had 7 children and wanted them to study the Bible.  So she enrolled them in the McCurdy Mission School and removed them from the Catholic church school.

The priest called her in and told her she could not do this.

She said, "But I want my children to study the Bible."

The priest responded, "People like you don't need to read the Bible.  We will tell you what you need to know."

Margaret continued saying that she wanted her children to study Bible.

The priest then said to Margaret:  If you do this we will put you out of the Catholic church and you will never be able again to confess your sins.

Margaret told me this with great shame.  She said, "I don't know what came over me but I said to the priest: 'I don't have to confess my sins to a man like you.  I will confess them to the Lord.' "

I knew it was the Holy Spirit of God speaking these words through Margaret.

Confess your sins to God.  God is faithful to forgive us our sins.  Only God is able to forgive sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And walk in the light of the word ...

I Jn. 1 ... 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If you lie to people to make yourself appear better, you walk in darkness, not light.

If you commit fornication you walk in darkness.

If you hate other people and despise people and think yourself better than others, you walk in darkness.

But if we walk in HIS light, the Word, doing the Word, we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

Confess your sin to God ... not to man.

Put your faith in God ... not in man.

==========

What about James 5:16 ...

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

"faults" is very different from "sins".

Fault is defined in dictionary as:  an unattractive or unsatisfactory feature in a person's character.

Sin is defined in dictionary as:  transgression against divine law

Only God can forgive sins.

Adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbian acts, stealing and other works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5 are "sins".

You can do much harm to the body of Christ by telling other people the sins you have committed.  Settle sins with God, not with man.  Although God might have you go to someone against whom you have committed a sin and ask that person to forgive you.

=======

Concerning confessing faults to other person ... I did this once in the 1970's when I was unable to work through a problem.  But I selected a godly woman.  So many church people are immature and some do not have the spirit of God.

I would encourage you to be very cautious in doing this.

First, turn to God and try to work through your problem with God.  He might then lead you to go to a godly person.  But start with God.

An example of a "fault" might be as follows:  I know people who do not want to see any "bad".  This can affect a person to reject seeing truth.  They want to live in a Walt Disney type world.  But as delightful as Disney productions were, they were not true, but fantasy.

Jesus said we worship God in Spirit and in truth.  Jn. 4

Jesus said he would have us wise as serpents and harmless as doves.  Mt. 10

Jesus said:  Let no man deceive you.  Mt. 24

And to use any scripture you must be led in a spiritual way by the Spirit of God.  I've encountered people who used scripture in fleshly ways and such puts people in grief and trouble and does much harm.

Paul explains: I Cor. 2 ... 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:for they are foolishness unto him:neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Many of the false doctrines set up in church denominations came by fleshly men in the church interpreting scripture by their own mind separate from the Spirit of God.

God puts HIS laws into our hearts and into our minds and establishes us in HIS laws. (New Covenant:  Heb. 8 & 10) And we must cling to that which God shows us as we live on this earth.  For many men who do not have the Spirit of God on the matter at hand will try to pull us off that shown us by God, using scripture by fleshly minds to try to pull us away from that which God has shown us.

When such happens, I am grieved ... and I turn to God in prayer, allowing God to re-establish me in HIS Word and in the right way concerning the matter at hand.

Put on the whole armor of God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Whether it is our own flesh we are fighting or the flesh of another person, the following is true.

The apostle Paul explains:

Eph. 6 ... 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Paul explains that the pieces of the whole armor of God are the following:

- truth (the truth is in Jesus)
- righteousness (what is right in the sight of God)
- peace (resting in God)
- faith (in God)
- helmet of salvation
- the Word of God
- prayer

Eph. 6 ...  14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Psalm 23 ... Prayers to God & Promises of God to the Church

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
HE leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul:

HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:for Thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Luke 7 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum. 2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die. 3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: 5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof: 7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee:

but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. 17 And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.  19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? 20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21 And in that same hour he
(Jesus) cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. 23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind? 25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts. 26 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet?

Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. 27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like? 32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35 But wisdom is justified of all her children.

36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat. 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.  41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both.

Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he (Jesus) said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

In heaven we will not have these fleshly emotions for we will not have this same flesh in heaven

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Paul said:

I Cor. 15 ... 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

In heaven, God will give us a new body as it pleases HIM but we will not have these fleshly bodies that we have now.  I Cor. 15

There will be no pain in heaven ... no sorrow ... Revelation 21

The physical pain we know now will be nonexistent in heaven for we will not have bodies subject to pain.

The tears and sorrow we know now will not be in heaven for these are caused by our flesh and we will not have this flesh in heaven.

We keep our flesh under control by Jesus, the Word, as we live on this earth but we still have the flesh to contend with on this present earth, and the works of our flesh are just waiting to rise up in us and take over as they once did ... but we also have the Spirit now and the Spirit is greater than all other spirits that want to take over and cause us to do fleshly things.  We now have a power through the Spirit that is in us.

Thus the apostle John says:  4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world:therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God:he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. I Jn. 4

Gal. 5 ...

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance:against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

In the meantime, we choose to do the works of the Spirit and choose not to do the works of the flesh.  When tempted to the work of the flesh, we can always pray, asking God not to let us to that or say that.

Now we are born again and have another spirit, the Spirit of God, in us.  It is greater than the spirit of the flesh.

And none of us want to do bad things because now we have another spirit, being born again of HIS Spirit.   Now we have the Spirit of God and Christ in us.

Psalm 22 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not;
and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee:
they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered:
they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

6 But I am a worm, and no man;
a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn:
they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him:
let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb:
thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb:
thou art my God from my mother's belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near;
for there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me:
strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 They gaped upon me with their mouths,
as a ravening and a roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint:

my heart is like wax;
it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd;
and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws;
and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me:
the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me:
they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I may tell all my bones:
they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them,
and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord:
O my strength, haste thee to help me.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword;
my darling from the power of the dog.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth:
for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren:
in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him;
all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him;
and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
neither hath he hid his face from him;
but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation:
I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied:
they shall praise the Lord that seek him:
your heart shall live for ever.

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord:
and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.
28 For the kingdom is the Lord 's:
and he is the governor among the nations.
29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship:
all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him:
and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him;
it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness
unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Luke 6 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.  2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?

3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him; 4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?  5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. 7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. 9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

10 And looking round about upon them all, he
(Jesus) said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; 14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, 15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, 16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; 18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. 19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said,

Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled.

Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. 23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger.

Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. 33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:

condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:

forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

God will not remember our sins nor our iniquities

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Heb. 8 ... God says ...

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Jesus paid for our sins and took away our sins and God refuses to remember our sins.

God simply turned us into "new" people ... born again ... people having a new spirit in us, HIS Spirit.

So we are now different.  We no longer want to do wrong for now we are of HIS Spirit.

It all fits together.

And God changed our thinking ... by putting HIS laws into our hearts and our minds ... Heb. 8 & Heb. 10

God did it all.

We rest in what God did.

The flesh is still there in us and tries to rise up and take over and get its way, but even for our flesh God had an answer.

We are now crucified with Christ ...

We are buried with Christ in baptism, symbolic of being dead with Christ, that the flesh would no longer reign in us but now the Spirit of Christ would reign.  And even if our flesh temporarily surfaces, God is greater than our flesh and grace overcomes.

And none of us want to sin when we belong to God.

That is a very big difference between the spirit that is in us now and the spirit that reigned over us before we were born again.

We come into a rest in God that this world cannot know.

Psalm 21 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 The king (David) shall joy in Thy strength, O Lord;
and in Thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire,
and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness:
thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him,
even length of days for ever and ever.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation:
honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever:
thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

7 For the king trusteth in the Lord,
and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies:
thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger:
the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth,
and their seed from among the children of men.

11 For they intended evil against thee:
they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back,
when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

13 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength:
so will we sing and praise thy power
.

Luke 5 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: 10 And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon.

And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him. 14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

15 But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.

21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?

22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? 24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

27 And after these things HE (Jesus) went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and HE (Jesus) said unto him, Follow me. 28 And he (Levi) left all, rose up, and followed him.

29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them. 30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

33 And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

34 And he
(Jesus) said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? 35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.

36 And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. 37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. 38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. 39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

Our sins are not greater than God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Before we were born again, those sins were not greater than God.

After we are born again, our sins are not greater than God.

The difference is this:  After we are born again, we do not want to sin ... We care about that which we do and we do not want to do wrong... but if we should do wrong, our wrong is not greater than God.

Paul described it as follows:

Romans 5 & 6 ...

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Chapter 6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

And after we are born again, given the Spirit of God to dwell in us, we do walk in newness of life.

One circumstance after another is used to recreate us into the image of Christ over and over.

For we learn as we encounter life after we are born again.

We then turn to God with the issues and HE shows us what to do which is opposite to this world and we choose what God shows us in the matter and by believing what God shows us and doing that our righteousness is in God, just as Abraham's righteousness was in God as HE believed what God said.

Psalm 20 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble;
the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

2 Send thee help from the sanctuary,
and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings,
and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

4 Grant thee according to thine own heart,
and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 We will rejoice in Thy salvation,
and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:

the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed;
he will hear him from his holy heaven
with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen:
but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Save, Lord:
let the King hear us when we call.

Building Your House On Correct Teaching From Bible Concerning Ministers

The Catholic church has a “pope” … they have something called “cardinal” …

Some churches have what they call “arch-bishops”.

Ministers often call themselves “Reverend.”

What does the Bible teach about such things as this?

It is very important to build your house on the examples in the Bible.

A few questions for you to answer:

Where in the Bible do you find the following:

    ? pope ?

    ? arch-bishop ?

    ? cardinal ?

In Bible is there any place a human is called “Reverend”?

Was Paul called “Reverend” in Bible?

Was Peter called “Reverend” in Bible?

What are ministers in the NT church called in Bible?

It is critical that we resolve for ourselves all things by what the Bible says … and that we conform ourselves to what the Bible says about the matter.

What are ministers called by God to the NT church called in the Bible?

Ephesians 4 … After Jesus arose … after the crucifixion and resurrection … we read of gifts Jesus gave to the NT church …

8 Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that HE ascended, what is it but that HE also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 HE that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that HE might fill all things.)

11 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

… apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers …

There are 5 ministry offices given to the NT church.

There is no such thing in Bible as: pope, arch-bishop, cardinal … no ministers of music in Bible … all these thing were added to the church by humans and do not have the power of God but a fleshly power in the minds of men which avail the church nothing but flesh.

It is a type of “form of godliness” … an image of what man views as godly … but had no real substance because it is of the flesh of man and not of God.

There is no place in Bible where any man was called “Reverend”.   (I shudder in horror when I think of anyone calling Paul “Reverend Paul” … I’m glad that has never happened for it would have greatly troubled Paul.

Paul was an apostle, teacher … and preacher … Paul referred to himself this way in the first verses of most of the epistles he wrote to the NT churches … )

Years ago, when I was on radio, Vinita Copeland (Kenneth Copeland’s mother) came to me and said, “Joan … I think radio is really your ministry …”

“NO” … my ministry given by God is apostle/prophet. There is no such thing in Bible as a “radio” ministry. Radio/TV are not ministries.

Ministers are: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher. Eph. 4

The apostles in NT church have an anointing from God to deal with church doctrine in regards to Bible.

The prophets in NT church often carry words of correction to the church to lead individuals and the church as a whole to repentance.

The apostles are similar to judges in secular courts of law, but ruling on scripture / Divorce-Remarriage, Homosexuals, The gathering of the church according to the NT and what is right based on Bible and what had been added by man to the gathering of the church and is therefore improper. …

Prophets are like policemen who see that driver speeding down the highway. Prophets try to stop people from sins and turn them to Bible and the ways of God. They have special anointings from God to do this work.

Bishops in NT church, according to Bible, are the same as elders. Both bishop and elder is used interchangeably and are the same thing in the church. These bishop/elders in NT are men, not women.

The requirements for elder explained by the apostle Paul …

Titus 1 … 4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith:Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; 8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; 9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

I Timothy 3 ... This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without (without the church); lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

We see by following scripture that the word bishop and elder are same thing:

Titus 1 ... For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. 7 For a bishop must be blameless,

An elder/bishop must be husband of one wife … married once … one wife … no divorces …

Having children(s) … multiple children … children under control of God …

Not a “novice” … mature in the Lord … not a recent believer.

Peter was an apostle and elder … Peter was married. We read in NT about Peter’s mother-in-law.

I Peter 5 ... The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

Several years ago, my contractor who attended a Catholic church, was very upset over the pedophiles among the Catholic priests. Tom said he almost left the Catholic church because of these pedophile priests.

I mentioned that one great problem is the Catholic church will not allow their priests to marry.

Tom replied, “Well … I don’t know about that…”

I replied, “Peter was married.”

Tom was shocked and replied, ? Peter? …

I replied, “Yes … we read about Peter’s mother-in-law in the Bible.”

I left the room to get a Bible …

When I returned, I opened the Bible and let Tom read the following scripture …

Mt. 8 … And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, HE saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. 15 And HE (Jesus) touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

(Also to be an elder in NT church Peter had to have multiple children … Titus 1 & I Timothy 3)

As I spoke with my contractor, I noticed he kept getting lower and lower into the kitchen booth, as if he was so shocked with each statement I was making that he was going down and down …

I don’t know much about Catholic church doctrine so I had no understanding at the time as to what was happening to contractor.

Later I told this story to Pam Padgett, who was raised Catholic and even attended Catholic school as a young child … Pam burst out laughing … and became hysterical with laughter as I continued the story …

Then Pam revealed to me that this story of Peter having a mother-in-law would be particularly upsetting to a Catholic because they teach that Peter is the founder of the Catholic church.

I was shocked! I had no idea they teach this. Poor Peter.

Concerning NT … In Bible NT ministers are not called “priests”.

Priests are Old Testament, not New Testament.

Concerning elders/bishops …

I Tim. 5 ... Paul says ... Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

So the elders/bishops "rule in the church", seemingly taking care of the sheep of the local assembly and some are able to instruct and all set an example for the flock of God.

Paul was an apostle/teacher but Paul could never be an elder or bishop for Paul never married and had no children. It was requirement that elder/bishop be husband of one wife and that he have his children under control.

Paul was not the last apostle as some churches teach but rather Paul was the first of the New Testament apostles. Paul was not like the apostles who walked with Jesus in the flesh. Paul was called after Jesus arose, just like Eph. 4 teaches. Paul is the first example of New Testament apostle.

Eph. 4 … after Jesus arose HE gave gifts to the NT church … 11 And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

The Church of Christ groups in the USA teach that ministers are not pastors as some churches call their ministers. I visited a Church of Christ Sunday school class. There were only about 8 or 9 people and it was very informal. We were free to talk in the group. From time to time I would speak to the man in charge and address him as “pastor”. He was the pastor.

Finally he said to me, “I’m not called pastor.”

I replied, “What are you called?”

He replied, “Minister” …

I have no reason why the Church of Christ removed “pastor” from the ministry offices … they also teach there are no apostles or prophets, though I think they believe there are evangelists and teachers in the church.

Nothing makes sense … It is just doctrines set up by fleshly men in their church through the years. They took no note of what Bible said about this matter. That is also the way other church denominations proceed… taking no note of what Bible says.

My cousin attends Church of Christ. In latter years of her life, she told me they knew some things were wrong in their doctrines.

For example: They use the following scripture in much of their printed material.

Acts 2:38 … 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

They deliberately omit the following part of Acts 2:38 …and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Jeanne said they can’t add this now because it would hurt the old people’s faith …

I think she was saying it would hurt the old people’s faith “in the Church of Christ” to know they were being taught something wrong … omitting Bible.

There are many other things from Bible omitted in their doctrine … and the other church groups do same … omitting scripture that conflicts with their long standing doctrine.

Jesus said they did this in synagogues … omitting the Word of God in order to hold onto their “traditions”.

Mk. 7 … Jesus said … 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

… 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Luke 4 ... Reading through the Bible

1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil.

And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: 10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee: 11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach deliverance to the captives,
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22 And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; 26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way, 31 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days. 32 And they were astonished at his doctrine:

for his word was with power.

33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, 34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. 39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. 43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. 44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

The New Testament Church

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Heb. 10 ... God says ...

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

God reveals HIMSELF to us and we are changed instantly ... born again ... given the Spirit of God to live in us.

We once pursued our own thoughts, our own ideas, our own desires for ourselves.

But now we are changed!  The person we once were is now dead ... something new is now there and it is of God ...

This happened to Paul on the road to Damascus.  God chose Paul and in God's time God revealed HIMSELF to Paul.  The circumstances differ for us but the principle is exactly the same.

In HIS time ... by HIS will ... God reveals HIMSELF to HIS people.

Being born again ... by the will of God by the Spirit of God ...  not by our own works.

Here is Paul's story:

Acts 9 ...  1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus:and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Suddenly Paul was changed by God revealing HIMSELF.  Paul didn't work to change.  Paul was changed, never again to be the same.

It was all by the will of God.

Concerning Paul, God said:

Acts 9 ...  he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

And when this happens, we are divided from this world ... We are no longer that person we once were ... The world continues.  We are different.  All by the will of God and not by our own will nor effort.

Being born again is a great mystery.  But we know when we are made different by God.  We know we didn't do this of our own works nor our own desires.  It is simply of God, by HIS will.
And we are very grateful.

Where we once were led by our own thinking, by our own reasoning, by our own desires, now we are led by the Spirit of God who dwells in us, though we may not know this at first.

Now we do not want to do wrong things.  Where we once sought our own desires, now we really do not want to do that which is wrong, for God has changed us, putting HIS laws into our hearts and into our minds.  Heb. 8 & Heb. 10

God does this.

Heb. 8 ... God says ...

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord:for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Being changed by God ... being given a heart and a mind after God ... we no longer want to do wrong.

And if we do wrong, God is greater than us and greater than the wrong.  The wrong will no longer rule over us.  Now God rules over us.

It is a great mystery.

It is the New Testament Church ... designed by God, set up by God ... We are a part of it when we belong to God ... when HE has revealed HIMSELF to us, giving us HIS Spirit ...

It happened to Peter ... It happened to Paul ... It happened to us!

Psalm 19 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language,
where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.

In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven,
and his circuit unto the ends of it:
and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul:
the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart:
the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever:
the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:
sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned:
and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors?
cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me:
then shall I be upright,
and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight,
O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Confess Your Sins To God … Not to Man

If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I John 1:9

Confess your sins to God … Only God has power to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Man does not have power to do this.

You can really harm another person by confessing your sins to that other person unless God shows you to do that.

A few years ago, a woman blurted out her sins to me and I still have trouble when I think of this woman.

There was no reason for her to do this. She just began telling me of her past sins. She started by saying, “You have no idea of the evil I have done …”

I was so stunned that I fell right into that trap and she continued telling me her sins which were awful.

It has been very hard for me and has caused me much trouble during the subsequent years. When I see certain women on TV, especially in commercials, I shudder. They remind me of this woman and these women are so ungodly the way they are used on TV, flaunting sex to try to sell various items. But I always think of this woman and how she sold herself with her physical appearance and attracted men and committed adultery and abortion as a result of her success in attracting men to herself. (She had an husband at the time she did these sexual sins.)

So you can do much evil toward that person you tell your sins to and not only can it harm the other person but it does no good for you with God. You just end up adding to your sin by telling them to another human.

If you are supposedly in the church, you should settle all sins with God …

David once said: Against THEE, THEE only, have I sinned, and done this evil in THY sight: Psalm 51:4

And the apostle Paul instructed the church as follows:

Eph. 5 … 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light:for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Certainly there are times we go to people we have hurt and ask those people to forgive us.

But to go to someone and just start telling that person your sins puts a terrible burden on that other person even if that person is a minister.

You should have settled your sins directly with God in prayer and faith.

God is the only one who has power to cleanse you.

Luke 3 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, 2 Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests,

the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. 3 And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying,

The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low;
and the crooked shall be made straight,
and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

7 Then said he
(John) to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance,

and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.

12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do? 13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.

14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; 16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water;

but one mightier than I cometh
(Jesus), the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire

17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

18 And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

19 But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, 20 Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph,
which was the son of Heli, 24 Which was the son of Matthat,

which was the son of Levi, which was the son of Melchi,
which was the son of Janna, which was the son of Joseph,

Exhortations for the Church

Joan Boney .,. apostle/prophet

I Cor. 1 ...

to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,

We are born in the flesh of man and then to some of us "something" happens ... God changes us into a new creature ...

At first we were of the natural man ... pursuing our own interests ... considering what we want and how to get what we want ...

In a blink of an eye, we are changed.  Born again of the Spirit of God.  Now we want to do what is right in the sight of God.

The epistles the apostle Paul wrote were to the church, to those changed by God.  He wrote to encourage the church in God.

He told us the following wonderful things:

...  in every thing ye are enriched by HIM, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

... Who shall also confirm you unto the end,

... by whom ye were called

When we understand these things, we no longer have to strive to be anything.  God has equipped us in every way as the Church.

God did it.

This is the New Covenant:

God says ...   I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; (Heb.10)

The exhorations in these epistles are given to encourage the Church in the faith in God WHO does all things for us.

When we understand these statements of truth in God, we rest in HIM

I Cor. 1 ...

... Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

... Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

...  He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
