We are God's witnesses

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

As we live on this earth, we "witness" to those things we have seen God do and we "witness" to that which we have heard from God ... so others called by God can share with us in God.

***

An astounding witness of the power of God to help us in a time of need happened last week.  This story shows the Holy Spirit giving critical information to Pam Padgett in a time when we were all baffled and had no idea why things were failing to move forward.  There was one little unidentified problem and that was stopping everything and the Holy Spirit brought that to Pam's mind and then we knew what to do!

It was a miracle of God.

When I moved to Colorado on February, 24, 2019, we put the house in Texas up for sale.

Two months passed and not one person viewed the house!

The realtor had no idea why people had failed to inquired about the house.  We certainly didn't know ... but God did know and HE revealed the problem to Pam.

***

One morning last week, the following thought came into Pam's mind:

"Did that say 2 bedrooms?"  (on the house listing)

Pam thought:  "Surely not!"

But this caused Pam to look at the listing that was being circulated all over the world on Internet and the listing was incorrect, saying that this was a 2 bedroom house... with 3900 square feet ... at $400,000. (We lowered the price to $350,000 but it was a very good buy for the amount of house and quality at the previous price.)

***

This is complete insanity!  No one would look at an expensive house that only had 2 bedrooms.  The house has 4 bedrooms.

After this is corrected by the realtor, we feel people will become interested in the house and will begin viewing the property.

***

God knew the problem and God revealed the problem to us!

If you have a problem in your life and you do not know what to do, ask God to give you wisdom on the matter.

We have the following promise of God:

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

***

After I was born again in 1975, one of the first things God showed me was to get out of debt and to stay out of debt.  Within a year of hearing to do this, I was out of debt ... and I worked to remain out of debt, just as God had told me to do.

In 1981, I was on radio from coast to coast in USA.  I had an office manger and she hired workers to respond to radio audience as they contacted us and gave offerings.

One of the younger, part-time workers contacted me and asked me:  "Has anyone told you about the financial problem?"

"NO!"  I had no idea we had a financial problem.

The office manager was in the faith movement and I doubt she would have wanted to "confess" to me that we were having trouble paying our radio bills.  That would be considered "weak faith" according to the teaching of that movement.

Immediately, I began praying, asking God:  "What is the problem?"

In response to the question, one word was brought to my mind"  "Chris."  (the office manager)

Without any further information, I picked up the phone and called Chris and said:  "You're fired."

(I was in Seattle having meeting for radio audience at that time.)

After I fired Chris, all office workers (except for one) quit in loyalty to Chris.

When we no longer had to pay Chris and the 8 office workers, we no longer had a financial problem.

It turned out that Chris was paying the workers and herself very large monthly salaries.

(I was paid $400 a month and all the others were being paid over $1000 a month, as I recall)

Why was Chris paying such large salaries?  I believe because of her church doctrine which was:  "God wants to bless you."  So Chris was blessing our workers with our money!  I do not for one second believe Chris was a crook.  She was a deluded person due to her church doctrine.

When I returned to Dallas and checked the amounts being paid to one accountant, I called him to review the situation.

He said, "Well ... yes, I was being paid a very big amount but in view of the amounts paid to your office workers, it didn't seem out of line!"

(I discontinued his services and began to do all the bookkeeping myself .)

Though I didn't know what was going on, God did know and God told me and one action took care of the entire problem.  Every problem unraveled after I fired Chris.

***

If you have a problem, this is the solution for you now if you can believe God will help you.

Turn to God in prayer.  By faith, depend upon God to get the truth to you so you can know what to do.

The Holy Spirit that is in us ...

   - teaches us all things
   - reminds us of all Jesus has said to us
   - guides us into all truth
   - shows us things to come

(John 14:26 & John 16:13)

***

A promise of God to the children of God:

Isaiah 54:17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the Lord.

***

If we have faith that God can and will communicate with us as children of God and servants of God, then we have the power to know we can hear the solution from God.

Trust God to give you the answer.

James 3:17  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

If the plan is difficult, complex, costly, or requires lying ... you do not have God's plan.  Back off, pray, and wait... for devils and flesh can conjure plans for us and lead us astray.

Measure all plans by James 3:17.

***

One more example:

I built an house in Clovis, New Mexico, when my mother was living.  Unknown to me at the time, the contractor could not get the plans for the house to fit onto the lot, so he cut down the size of the attached garage and the kitchen.  This caused us problems, for when we, my mother and I, both went into kitchen it was so small we bumped into each other and lost peace.

I kept praying for an answer.

Most of the time when I pray, I will receive an answer within a few days and sometimes immediately.

But this time, it took about 4 years before I knew what to do about the small kitchen.

Each time I went into the kitchen I would pray over the  problem when I encountered the problem.  So don't stop praying!

Jesus gives us the following example concerning continuing in prayer.

Luke 18:1-9    And HE (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;   Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:   And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;  Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

And shall not God avenge HIS own elect, which cry day and night unto HIM, though HE bear long with them?

I tell you that HE will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall HE find faith on the earth?

(When Jesus returns for the church, the problems on this present earth will be tremendous.  Many will cease praying, for their faith in God will disappear.  We must fight to hold onto faith.  We work at our faith often by writing out those scriptures given to us by God and making ourselves focus on those things said  to us by the Holy Spirit.  We deliberately cling to that which God has said about the issue at hand.  God speaks to us by dreams, scriptures, godly concepts which HE brings to our minds.)

***

Concerning the small kitchen ...

One day, I entered the kitchen and "the light" went on in my mind and I saw the answer concerning my problem.  I needed to remove the built in pantry and put the pantry in the attached garage.  This would allow me to place the refrigerator to the spot where pantry had been, for refrigerator location was blocking the walking room in kitchen.

This also allowed me to increase the cabinet space by approximately 4 feet and add a rolling type cabinet bar area.

This cost relatively little money to do the changes.

It solved the problem in the kitchen.

***

God has the answer for us.

A current solution from God to a problem.

In Colorado, they will not issue me a hang down handicapped placard (for car parking) until I have a Colorado identity card showing I reside in Colorado.

I currently have a Texas drivers license which will not expire until 2021 and I'm not sure that I will ever drive again so I don't want to apply for Colorado drivers license.  I can use my Texas license as an identity card at places like Costco where I pick up prescription drugs.

The Colorado license place would give me a handicap placard if I had a current USA Passport.  (my passport is expired)

This morning I realized I can renew my Passport and settle everything by that.  It is easier to get USA Passport than the Colorado identity card!  The Passport only costs $65 which I can afford.

So we will do this!

Romans 8:31   If God be for us, who can be against us?

(Who is strong enough to stand up against God and fight against God?)

Hymn:  There is a fountain filled with blood

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1  There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel’s veins;
And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains:

Lose all their guilty stains, (O Lord)
Lose all their guilty stains;

And sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.

2   The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away:

Wash all my sins away, (O Lord)
Wash all my sins away;

And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.

3   Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its power,
Till all the ransomed ones of God
Be saved, to sin no more:

Be saved, to sin no more, (O Lord)
Be saved, to sin no more;

Till all the ransomed ones of God,
Be saved to sin no more.

4   E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die:

And shall be till I die, (O Lord)
And shall be till I die;

Redeeming love has been my theme,
And shall be till I die.

5   When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave,
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save:

I’ll sing Thy power to save, (O Lord)
I’ll sing Thy power to save;

Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I’ll sing Thy power to save.

Scripture pertaining to this hymn:

Romans 5:5-9     the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

(We didn't shed our blood for our sins but Jesus shed His blood for our sins ... without shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 ... we cannot hope to pay for our sins and our wrong actions by our good works ... only by shed blood are we cleansed)

***

v.1   Lose all their guilty stains;

Even after we are born again, memories come to us to make us sad as we remember past and wish we had done better.  I've found if I just make myself think on the payment made by Jesus' blood for my sins, those bad memories vanish as I think on the way Jesus purchased me.  And when I make myself think on the following scripture I am helped greatly.

I John 1:7     But if we walk in the light, as HE is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

We can never live in peace on this earth until we enter in to the payment of our sins through the blood of Christ.

***

The new covenant replaces the old covenant:

Hebrews 10:9-14   Then said HE, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. HE taketh away the first (covenant), that HE may establish the second.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest (old testament) standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man (Jesus), after HE had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

From henceforth expecting till HIS enemies be made HIS footstool.

For by one offering HE (Jesus) hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

***

Matthew 11:28-30   Jesus says ... Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.

Yoking yourself to Jesus for basic salvation is critical.  But it is also critical to yoke yourself to Jesus when you make plans after you are born again.

For the plans we make could be plans of our own flesh or of other human beings or plans of the devil.  If such, dread and hardships will likely be the resulting fruit.

For the yokes of man, and the yokes of the devil, and the yokes of our own flesh are hard, whereas the yoke of God is easy.

Victorious Christians succeed in plans of God because they yoke themselves to plans of God through prayer and through being established by God in the plan.

Instruction in Righteousness: Acts 6

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

Suborned:  to bribe or otherwise induce someone to commit perjury against another person

12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

Critical To Enable Us To Live In Peace ... We Must Understand This Present World Will Never Be Righteous

Book:  Exhortations For The Church
Vol. 9, Chapter 26
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We look for "a new heaven and a new earth" wherein dwelleth rightousness.  II Peter 3

It is critical for us to understand that we will never be able to make this present earth better.

We will never be able to make our own flesh better.

It is the Spirit of God that is good.  As we learn to follow the Spirit of God that is in us and keep down our flesh, we do well.

But the flesh will always be flesh.  It is to be kept under the control of God.

*****

If you think you will make this present earth a better place, you need to reevaluate your goals!

To live in peace among the increasing sin of this world, we are kept by the Spirit of God and we are kept by our choices to go in godly ways.

Many of the troubles we have are caused by what we are choosing to do ... We do not have to watch that newscast that troubles us ... We do not have to see that TV program ...

I am greatly troubled by some of the "brazen" women that appear on TV both in shows and on advertisements.  But I realize there is nothing requiring me to watch them on TV.  So if I do watch TV and they appear on screen, I often shut my eyes, mute the sound, or just turn the program off!

My goal assigned by God through the Bible is for me to live in peace.

II Peter 3:10-14 ... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

*****

Prayer connects us to God in the matter at hand.  We learn to pray rather than fret ourselves.

We won't be able to make this world righteous.  We can keep ourselves through prayer and thereby live in peace even in the midst of trouble.

If you look at one decade after another, do you see things getting better or worse?  Is there more or less sin flaunted before us?

The apostle Paul told us it would get worse, not better.

II Tim. 3:1-17 ...

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  But they shall proceed no further:for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing OF WHOM thou hast learned them;  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

*****

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

A few days ago, we received a notice that attempt was made to deliver a letter requiring receipt signature and we could call at post office to receive this letter.

We were terribly shocked at contents of letter.

It turned out to be concerning house in Lubbock, Texas, which belongs to ministry and is non-profit status.  This house was put up for sale when I moved to Colorado February 24, 2019.

The tax office in Lubbock has changed the house from non-profit to tax status, requiring payment of almost $10,000 per year in taxes.

Pam Padgett and I went into shock!

***

One thing I heard is Romans 8:28   And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

***

We had to live with this problem overnight since we received the letter too late to contact the tax office in Lubbock, Texas.

I prayed a lot that night.

***

When Pam called the tax office, she found they had a form for non-profit tax exempt status that was supposed to be filled out every 6-years and had not been filed by us.

The tax office did not send me this form nor tell me about this form during the 15-years I lived in the house.  I didn't even know this form existed.

In our appeal, we hope to settle this matter and resume non-profit, tax exempt status on the house until the house sells.  Otherwise we would be charged approximately $800 per month taxes which we could not pay!

***

The Texas house has been on the market for the past two months, without anyone asking to view the house.

This is very strange.

Realtor didn't understand and certainly we didn't understand.

Pam had something called to her attention by God:  She heard:  "Did that (listing of house) say 2 bedroom?"

Pam thought, "Surely not."

But when she looked at the listing it did say 2 bedroomIt should have said 4 bedroom.

Of course no one would want to view a 2 bedroom house in this area!

***

The tax problem along with that thought concerning the number of bedrooms listed, caused us to look more closely at the house description.

When I did that, I saw a number of items the realtor failed to tell about in the listing.

Thus the tax problem may result in the actual viewing and sale of the house!

***

I have another example of evil things working for good in the long run.

Several years ago, I offended a man and he turned me in to USA Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to ask that they investigate me for tax.

Two IRS agents came to my house.  I told them immediately they could have all my cancelled checks and bookkeeping for myself and the ministry which is non-profit.

They were shocked that I would let them have all my cancelled checks.

I told the agents that if a mistake had been made, I would pay whatever they said to pay.  But it would just have been an error, nothing deliberate.

They found no problem.

However, one agent noticed I was not listed for social security.

I explained to him that when ministry was started in 1979 and tax papers were set up, I signed a "vow of poverty" which would exclude ministry from paying social security tax on me because ministry at the beginning just didn't have any money to pay.

This meant I could never draw social security payment nor could I receive hospital payment should I need hospital!

Once you signed vow of poverty, you could never go back into the social security program.

Agent said vow of poverty papers were never filed with IRS so if I wanted to do so, I could now buy back into the social security program!

I was delighted to know this!  I did want to buy into the program and I wrote a check immediately to allow me to do such.

***

A decade later, they began sending me monthly social security checks of $504 per month.

Then a few years after that, I fell, broke a hip, had surgery, spent a month in rehab-hospital and all costs were paid in full by Medicare and supplemental hospitalization.  (This cost would have likely been $50,000 or more.)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.  (Romans 8:28)

***

I haven't taken any salary from ministry in over 20 years.  I am able to live and pay my personal expenses from my social security check which is now $ 804 per month.

Our offerings have decreased greatly due to death of former radio contributors who grew old.

So the social security checks help a lot.

***

We were spending $400 a month to advertise blog to help people find our writings.  I have reduced that to $20 a month.  That will still help a few people around the world to find our writings.

(Since I've been writing the blog, no one has ever sent an offering.  We have had 894,183  page views since March, 2012.)

*****

The bottom line ...

I Timothy 6:6-8   godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

*****

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

There are a lot of secular burdens today that we, who are of God, just do not have to take onto ourselves.

We learn, by God, to do that which we can pay for ... avoiding traps.

If we cannot pay for it, we just don't do it.

We currently have house for sale in Texas.

We can afford to pay lawn mowing ... but not house insurance.

So we pay lawn mowing ... do we have faith not to pay for that which is not required by law?

***

We do not live in debt as this world lives.  We do not borrow money to make money as is wise in the eyes of this world.  We learn to live within our means to pay at that moment.

We talk with God about our problems.  We settle everything with God.

We have to have food and raiment today, not tomorrow.

We have raiment today ... not next winter ... If we are still on earth when winter comes, we must develop faith that God will somehow meet that need.

Do we have what we need today?  Food and clothing?

Jesus could return any second for the church and we, who are of faith, will be taken out immediately.

So why plan for tomorrow which might not even come?

Can we live for this exact moment?

If so, what's the problem?

***

Jesus says:

Matthew 6:19-34    Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
(Can you get an inch taller by thinking about it?)

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall HE not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(What is right in the sight of God in this situation?)

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Hymn:  Standing on the promises

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.  Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Chorus:

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of
Christ my Savior;
Standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God.

2.   Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

Standing on the promises of God.

3.  Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

4.  Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,

Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5.  Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Standing on the promises of God.

The following scripture pertains to this hymn:

v. 2   By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

The living word of God is the word spoken to you by the Spirit of God.  By His Spirit, God will bring to our mind ideas that show us what to do, or scriptures which show us what to do.

And when it is of God, it will never fail.  We can put our trust in what we have heard from God by His Spirit.

The living word of God is just exactly that, living, because it pertains to the exact subject you are dealing with at that moment in time.

You can hunt for a scripture and fail. Or you can try to figure out what to do and fail.

But you will not fail when it is the Holy Spirit bringing the concept or a scripture to your mind to guide you in the matter at hand.

Here is a promise from Jesus concerning the work the Holy Spirit will do for us.

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself (of his own thinking); but whatsoever he shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

4 things the Holy Spirit does for the believer:

- HE teaches us all things. (secular and spiritual)
- HE reminds us of all Jesus has said to us through scripture, dreams, concepts
- HE guides us into all truth.  (often one thing at a time ... you do the first thing ... then a second idea comes and you do that... on until the matter is resolved)
- HE shows us things to come.  (often by dreams ... sometimes by just knowing)

v. 3   Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

We are freed every time we have a word from God brought to our mind by His Spirit, and when we believe and act on that word in the midst of the trial or temptation.

Several years ago, I received a birthday card from a high school friend.  In the card she enclosed a note telling me all the plans she had for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  She was going to be with her husband, her daughter, and her grandchildren, celebrating.

Instantaneously, the Holy Spirit brought to my mind these words, "You are dead, and your life is hid with Christ."

I replied to the Holy Spirit, "Yes!"

Then I saw that if I had not heard from the Holy Spirit in this matter, I might have been a little bit depressed or down because I don't have a husband, or daughter, or grandchildren.  Nor did I have any plans for the holidays.  I was going to be alone.

But God delivered me from depression or sadness by bringing His word on the matter by His Spirit.

Colossians 3:1-4  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

v. 4   Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,

God speaks to each of His children by His Spirit which lives inside each child.  The Holy Spirit brings thoughts from God to our minds to show us the way of God and the will of God as we live on this earth.

We overcome the trials and temptations of this present earth as we hear from the Holy Spirit daily, and take appropriate action to the instruction given by the Spirit.

You do have to be careful.  For the devil will try to imitate God and bring thoughts to your mind which are opposite to the way God wants you to go.  And often our own fleshly preferences will bring thoughts to us which seem good to us, but are opposite to the way God wants us to go.

Prove all things by prayer and Bible.

If you will ask God to confirm the way to go and to make it clear to you which thought is HIS, and if you will take time before you act, it will be made clear to you which thought is from God.

We must pay attention to those things spoken to our minds by the Holy Spirit in order to follow God.  And we do overcome daily with the Spirit's sword.

v. 5   List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Once we have established that a thought is from God, we must focus on that thought and rest in that word that we have heard from God concerning the matter at hand.  Often, we have to keep it before us day and night to be strong enough to continue in that direction.

Instruction in Righteousness: Acts 5

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

***

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

***

12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

***

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

***

21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught.

But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,

23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.31 Him hath God exalted with HIS right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are HIS witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey HIM.

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

***

34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.

36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for HIS name.

42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Multiple Prayer On The Same Subject Is Not Lack Of Faith

Book:  Exhortations For The Church
Vol. 9, Chapter 25
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Each time I am troubled over an issue, I try to remember to pray again about the matter at hand. When troubled by a memory, pray again.

When God gives me a specific word concerning that subject, I am usually not troubled again by remembrance of that matter.

But God doesn't always give me a specific word about the matter at hand.  I know God hears me but God may not give me a word of resolve.  This is where repeated prayer comes in and faith established over and over through repeated prayer.

Luke 18:1-8 ... And he (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;  Saying,

There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:  And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

It takes faith in God to pray to God.

Paul prayed 3 times that a problem be removed from him.  Then after the 3rd time he prayed over the same matter, God gave Paul a word which caused Paul to stop praying over that issue.

II Cor. 12:7-10 ... And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And HE said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for MY strength is made perfect in weakness.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Jesus prayed 3 times that "this cup" be removed from HIM ...

Then the 3rd time Jesus prayed, HE said, "THY will be done."   (Mt. 26:42)

*****

When God gives us a word in regard to our prayer, then we focus on that word given by God.  But when there is no word and the problem continues, we continue to pray when we recall the problem.
