πŸ’₯ Trump says he needs generals to be like Hitler's generals who obeyed Hitler.

Hitler required an oath of allegiance to be made by each individual to himself, Adolph Hitler, chancellor of Germany.

Our armed forces in USA make oath of allegiance to uphold and defend "The constitution of the United States."

This allowed Hitler to order his generals and army to attack whom Hitler willed and they obeyed.

This is the power Trump said he wanted in his generals.

On 20 August 1934, the cabinet decreed (in Germany) the "Law On The Allegiance of Civil Servants and Soldiers of the Armed Forces", which superseded the original oaths. The new law decreed that both members of the armed forces and civil servants had to swear an oath of loyalty to Hitler personally.

πŸ’₯ Adolf Hitler required all German civil servants and soldiers to swear an oath of allegiance to him personally after he assumed full power in 1934:

When it happened
On August 20, 1934, the day after German President Paul von Hindenburg died, Hitler became Reich Chancellor and FΓΌhrer. The new oath replaced the previous oath to the Weimar Constitution and the office of president.

What the oath said
The oath was called the "FΓΌhrer Oath"
and it required the swearer to pledge unconditional obedience to Hitler as the head of state and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The oath also included a promise to risk one's life for Hitler.

Why it was required
The oath was intended to increase loyalty to Hitler and prevent dissent. It was also meant to convey that Hitler's will was the same as the nation's, and that his authority was equal to the constitution.

    Who else swore the oath

Other organizations in Nazi Germany, such as the Schutzstaffel (SS) and the Hitler Youth, also required their members to swear oaths to Hitler.

Various organisations in Nazi Germany required their members to swear oaths to Adolf Hitler
by name, rather than to the German nation.

In USA presidents and other officials are required to swear to "uphold and defend the constitution of the United States.

Trump swore this when he was elected president and sworn into office.  But when Biden was elected president Trump tried to overthrow the counting of votes, on January 6, 2021, by calling a group of his supporters to come to Washington DC  on January 6,2021, and then Trump sent the group to storm the Capitol building to stop the counting of electoral votes which would make Biden president instead of himself.

Most of us watched this on live TV ... it would have overthrown the democratic government of the United States had they succeeded.

It really troubled me, although I've never thought much about our government.  But when I saw the mob sent by Donald Trump to stop the work of the vote counting, I realized democracy itself was in danger.  I'd rather live in a government of democracy than live in any other form of government.
