Old Testament:
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Comments by Joan Boney: In the New Testament church, all who are born again are given the Holy Spirit to live inside us. I Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
In the NT, the Holy Spirit in us brings thoughts to our minds to show us the will of God in the matter at hand
Holy Spirit "HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (John 14:26)
Holy Spirit "will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." (John 16:13)
Difference between Old Testament and New Testament.
Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Holy Spirit in today's church lives inside the born again Christian and teaches that person from within by bringing to his mind concepts of God.
In the Old Testament the people did not have the Holy Spirit to teach them. The OT prophets had the Holy Spirit and the people had to go to the OT prophet to hear the will of God. Today we hear directly from God by His Spirit.
I Corinthians 2 (about Holy Spirit in NT Church)
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (Old Testament)
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (New Testament Church)
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
