* Deliverance of the children of Israel.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Exodus 11:1    And the Lord said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.

***

Exodus 11:2
God says:   Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver and jewels of gold.

By this, God will fulfill a promise HE made to Abraham.

Genesis 15:13-14   And HE (God) said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

Psalm 105:37   He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

At one point, Pharaoh said to Moses:

Exodus 10:24-15 Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.

(Leave your flocks and your herds behind.)

25 And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God.  Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the Lord our God; and we know not with what we must serve the Lord, until we come thither.

At one point, we owned a house in Texas and put it up for sale.  A man offered us $100,000 less than we priced the house.  Our realtor was horrified at the offer but she felt obligated to tell us and let us make the decision.  We counter offered but the man declined.  I felt he was some kind of real estate investor who hoped to buy the house and turn around and sell it for a good profit.

Thoughts later came to me that I should have sold the house.  That would have stopped the utility bills which we were having to pay on empty house.

But the Holy Spirit reminded me of the above section of scripture from Exodus 10 ...
we know not with what we must serve the Lord, until we come thither.

I felt that confirmed my decision not to sell at the under priced offer.

God discloses HIS plan to Moses and Moses tells the children of Israel:

Exodus 11:4-7   Moses says:  Thus saith the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:  And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.

The people of God are special to God:

I Peter 2:9-10    But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

***

II Corinthians 6:14-18   Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial
(devils)? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you.
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

***

Romans 12:1-2     I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Renew our minds to God's way through examples given us in the Bible, and by thinking on things God has said to us.

***

Exodus 11:10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go out of his land.

God prepares the children of Israel to bring them out:  The passover of the angel of death

Exodus 12:1-13     And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:  And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.  Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.

And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.

Keep ready to go out: Keep yourself in peace through prayer, without spot, and blameless.  II Peter 3:14

Let not the sun go down on your wrath.  Ephesians 4:26

***

Exodus 12:12-13 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

***

For the New Testament church:

John 14:6   Jesus says:    I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

In the Old Testament, the angel of death passed over the signs of the blood which was marked on the doors of the houses of the children of Israel.

In the New Testament church, destruction of the wrath of God passes over those persons who are covered by the blood of Jesus who paid for our sins.  As we live in the Word of God, we abide in Jesus, that we who believe in Jesus will not be destroyed with the judgments of God, the wrath of God, that is to judge this present world in the great tribulation that comes at the end of this present world.

***

Exodus 12:21-23   Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.   And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

(This would be done that the destroying angel would make a difference between the children of Israel and the people of Egypt, the world.)

For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when HE seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

There are many examples in the Bible which warn us about going out among the people of this world.

We just read about Dinah, the daughter of Jacob by Leah.

Remember how she went out to see the daughters of this world?  And as a result, she was treated as a whore by the prince's son and it caused her brothers to sin on her behalf by killing all the men of that country.  Genesis 34:1   And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.

There is the story of Balaam who associated with the evildoers.  When God sent Joshua in to destroy the wicked, Balaam was there with the wicked and was killed with the wicked.

Numbers 31:8   And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

There is the story also of the men who arose against Moses and how God destroyed all that were with these men by opening the ground and swallowing them up.

Numbers 16:2-3   And they (Korah, Dathan, and Abriam) rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:

And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?

Numbers 16:19-35     And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the congregation.

And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,  Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

Numbers 16:25-35 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord hath not sent me. But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord.

And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:  And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

And there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

The people of the Old Testament had all these real-life examples that they might fear God and know God.

We today, in the New Testament church, have the examples in the Bible telling us of the works of God that, by faith, we, too, might fear God and know God.

But many in the churches today set up God in their own image, ignoring the examples of the Bible, and fabricating a god in their image of what a god should be.  This is disastrous!

Instead pay attention to the examples of the real God in the Bible.

And if you foolishly think the New Testament God will not bring the wrath brought by the same God in the Old Testament, read Revelation 8-16 showing that which is to come from God upon this present earth in the great tribulation.

The apostle Paul says:

I Corinthians 10:6  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

11-12    Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Exodus 12:28-37    And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.

Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.

And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.

And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.

37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.

Over a million people would be in the tribes of the children of Israel, walking out of Egypt at one time.

***

Exodus 12:38-42 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.

It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.

Can you think of a city near you that has a million and a half people?  Can you picture all these people walking out into the wilderness by faith in God?

What a sight that would have been to see and to experience!  And all their beasts with them also!

***

Exodus 12:43-44    And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:   But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

The New Testament Church:

Eating and drinking the Word of God:  A warning:

I Corinthians 11:27-31   Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread (of the Word of God), and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

But let a man examine himself
(by the scriptures), and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep
(die).

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

***

Exodus 12:51 And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

Physical signs given to the Old Testament church:

Exodus 13:1-3     And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,  Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

***

The New Testament church remembers by the Spirit of God:

John 4:23-24   Jesus says:   But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.

We, who belong to God, have been given the Spirit of God to dwell in us and we are sealed by the Spirit of God.  Ephesians 1

The Spirit of God reminds us of those things God has said to us and has done for us as we live on this present earth.  John 14:26 & John 16:13

We are led by HIS Spirit as HE reminds us along the way of scriptures and other concepts to show us what to do in the issues pertaining to this present life.  Romans 8

If you long for the physical OLD TESTAMENT ordinances, read the book of Leveticus  I think you will change your mind.

For God gave us a far better covenant than that which the people had in the Old Testament.

God says to us:

Hebrews 8:7-13    For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, HE (God) saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in MY covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people:  And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

In that HE saith, A new covenant, HE hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

***

Hebrews 10:10-22    By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  (In the Old Covenant) And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

But this man
(Jesus), after HE had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever  (Himself), sat down on the right hand of God;  From henceforth expecting till HIS enemies be made HIS footstool.

For by one offering
(the offering of HIMSELF) HE hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that HE had said before,  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;  And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,  By a new and living way, which HE hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, HIS flesh;

And having an high priest (Jesus) over the house of God;  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

***

Peter says they and their fathers were unable to follow the old covenant, the old rules.
Acts 15:10-12    Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?  But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

***

Exodus 13:17   And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

I Corinthians 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Exodus 13:18-19     But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

Joseph spoke this as an act of faith, showing that the time would come when God would deliver the children of Israel, though 400-years after Joseph made them sware to take his bones out with them.

***

Exodus 13:20-22   And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

HE took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

God had a sure way to lead HIS people and a sure route whereby they would travel.
