Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Holidays and you are alone

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Yesterday I received a note card from a childhood acquaintance.  She was telling me all her plans for the upcoming holidays.  She is having 25 come to her house Thanksgiving.  Then Christmas she and husband go her their daughter's house.  She said her grandson got married in October.

After reading her note card, I realized a heaviness had come on me and I felt "down" a little.  I am alone.  Immediately I was reminded of the following truth:  "You are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When Christ who is your life appears then you will appear with HIM in glory."

That's right!  I have everything.

Col. 3 ... 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Anarchy in churches: The falling away from scripture

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The day of the Lord, the day of the return of Jesus Christ, would be preceded by a "falling away" in the churches, according to the apostle Paul ... II Thess. 2  (KJV)

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,  2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

In the NSAB, this falling away is called "apostasy" ... to abandon (or renounce) a previous religious belief ...

The "falling away" occurs when church groups set aside scriptures previously practiced.

Paul warned us that evil men and seducers in the church would wax worse and worse as time passed.  (II Tim. 3) ... Paul said he knew when he was gone there were men in that group who would rise up speaking perverse things.  (Acts 20)  As long as Paul was there among them, he controlled them.  Paul said:  25And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. 26Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.   Acts 20

A few days ago, I was driving down street and noticed a billboard at a Church of Christ advertising "divorce care" ...

Here is what Bible has to say about divorce and remarriage ...

Jesus said:  whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.  Mt. 5:32

- If a man divorces a faithful wife, that man will be the cause of his wife's adultery if she remarries after divorce.

- The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

Paul said the following is a commandment of the Lord ... I Cor. 7 ... 10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

I've attended several churches since being born again but I've never heard either of these scriptures taught at any church I've attended.  It would be very unpopular to tell the congregation that the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery!  Certainly this is not usually taught.  But this is what Jesus said.

We see from this one subject how the falling away from scripture is rampant in church groups today.   And this shows us antichrist ruling over scripture in church groups today.  (Antichrist is a spirit.)

Paul said:  1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (This was going to happen in the church groups.)

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,  11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  II Tim. 3

In the book of Revelation which we have been reading daily, we have 4 examples of false doctrine being permitted in church groups (Rev. 2 & 3) and how Jesus hates these false doctrines and HE rebuked the churches which allowed such.

We, who are of God, can't stay where there is false doctrine.  We cannot explain it away and excuse it.  To try to do such puts us under judgment of God.  Rev. 2 & 3 ... We have to come out when false doctrine is set up ... (Just consider the subject of divorce and remarriage if you need a topic to examine a church group on doctrine.)

Revelation: Chapter 12

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven;

a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.  4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:

and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

7 And there was war in heaven:

Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:

he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven,

Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them.

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Anitchrist exalts himself

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet]

Antichrist is a spirit who operates in humans.  He will cause those humans to exalt themselves whenever possible.  Humans, by their own flesh, desire to exalt themselves so this falls into that which humans desire to do anyway.  And in exalting themselves, humans go in a way opposite to God and thereby oppose God.  The desire to be higher is a goal most of us have experienced many times.

II Thess. 2 ...  that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The apostle Paul spoke of the lawlessness that was just waiting in the church to exalt itself and take over as soon as he was gone ...

Acts 20 ... Paul says ... 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. 26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

The apostle John also spoke of many antichrists appearing among the church ... I Jn. 2 ... 18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

We think of our generation living "in the last time" in the church but we see that John spoke of those days of the early church as "the last time" where lawlessness was there in those who were antichrists (opposite to Christ and exalting themselves in the church).  I Jn. 2 ... 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

There are certain messages that will drive those people away from us when they have lawlessness in their hearts.  They exalt their own opinions over the messages.

We had a woman among us who had strong medical training.  I knew when I quoted certain scripture she would be offended and leave us.  Sure enough, she left immediately when that scripture was quoted for it conflicted with her medical training.  Jesus said ... They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. (Mt. 9:12)  (This conflicts with today's practice of preventive medicine and people are offended when something conflicts with their worldly training unless they are of God.)

We who are of God are corrected by scripture but antichrist opposes various doctrines and sets his ideas up above those scripture.  This is antichrist spirit operating in the churches today.

It was not that antichrist would reign over this world but rather antichrist was going to set himself up in the temple of God (the church) to reign over God, opposing scripture and doctrines and setting up another gospel in the churches.  (II Thess. 2:4)

And antichrist would also try to cause us to exalt ourselves ... so we are cautious when this temptation comes to us knowing this is not the Spirit of God but another spirit opposite to God.

More and more we see scriptures being explained away in churches today and other doctrines opposite to scripture being set up to please people and attract disobedient to churches and make everyone feel good about himself in his sin so there is no repentance of that sin.

This is antichrist in the churches.  It was there in the day of Paul and John and it is in the churches today, probably in increased amount today ...

II Tim. 3 ...

Often we have to leave those church groups because of false doctrines.

Revelation: Chapter 11

And there was given me a reed like unto a rod:

and the angel stood, saying,

Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them,

Come up hither.

And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud;

and their enemies beheld them.

13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand:

and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying,

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17Saying,

We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament:

and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

I Cor. 10:13-14

1 Cor 10 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:

but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;

but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

God's yoke is easy

Pam Padgett - teacher

During my life I have tried in various ways to be important.  Trying to excel in school and later to advance in my job are just two ways I have tried to be important.

But trying to be important is opposite to the way of God and is a heavy burden.  I don't want to go this way.

Matthew 18:2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
--
Another heavy burden was being a football fan.  It was very difficult when "my" team lost.  It was especially hard if they played very badly after I heard sports analysts before the game talk of how well "my" team should do.  This was affecting me, consuming me.  I had even looked online for someone to replace an injured player, although there was nothing I could do even if I found a likely candidate!

1 Corin. 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Not long ago I asked God to help me.  One thing I felt led to do was to stop watching the sports analyst shows.  And I also was given the concept that I didn't have to watch "my" team play (previously I had felt almost an obligation to watch "my" team.)

Recently I've been aware of being much less burdened in this.  Last week after seeing a few plays in which the team played poorly, I decided to do something else.  Instead of watching this game, I invited a neighbor to bring her dogs to play with my dog, and it was very enjoyable for me to throw tennis balls for them to retrieve and to watch them play.

Surprisingly, I don't think I had tension or worry about the outcome of the game.  And the burden I felt just a couple months ago to watch these games was no longer there.
--

Today I was thanking God that, because of He word and help, I can stop trying to be important and don't have to be consumed as a football fan ... and for how freeing these things are.  I was reminded of the following:

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Angels do not have wings as the world pictures

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The world often shows figures with wings in pottery or drawings representing these winged figures as being "angels".

Angels do not have wings.  By the examples in the Bible we see that angles look just like men.  (no wings)

Gen. 19 ...

1And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; 2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. 3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: 5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

We see by this example these two angels looked like men to both Lot and to the men of Sodom who saw them.

In Genesis 17, 3 angels appeared to Abraham and again we see these angels looked just like men to Abraham.  1And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; 2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground, 3And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: 5And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.   6And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.  7And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. 8And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Twice God has allowed me to see angels.  Once in a dream I saw about 7 men sitting around a table.  There were a few precious stones on top of the table and these men were examining these stones.  Then one man said, "Then it is settled.  We'll go help her."  I knew these were angels, I knew the precious stones were the church, but these angels just looked just like men. (No wings)

Then a few months ago, I was praying concerning angels and God gave me an open vision, allowing me to see into heaven.  I knew I was seeing angels.  They were rejoicing, One was plump and jovial looking and was dancing in the group, sort of jumping up and down with his hands in the air and turning his body from side to side as he danced.  He caught my attention for he looked so happy.  These angels look just like men.  No wings.

Wanting to be important or wanting to feel you are important

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

As I have grown older, I have become much less important in my own eyes.  There was a time I was so important that I thought my parents to be silly in some of the things they chose to watch on TV.  As I have grown in years and experience with God, I realize I am more like my parents now.  I realize that I don't have to make every minute count as I once did.  I don't have to accomplish long lists of things daily to have a good day.  It is just the opposite now.  And as I have grown less important in my own eyes, my parents make much more sense to me than they did 30 years back!

I've become much more comfortable with my life.  While I spent most of my life having to accomplish things daily, now I am grateful for the days when I have nothing scheduled at all.  Sometimes there will be 3 or 4 weeks when I have nothing at all on my calender.  It is wonderful!

Now I just get up when I choose to get up and sit and drink coffee and talk to God, read blog, read Bible, report things if God shows me something. Go to bed when I choose to go to bed.  I don't like to schedule things and only do this when it is necessary.

And as I have become less important and read the book of Revelation, I realize how very short I fall in really knowing how to worship God and how to exalt God.

A few days ago, I was reading one of the chapters of Revelation and I became afraid.  The multitude was gathered around the throne of God worshiping God ... I wondered if I would know how to do this?  I wondered if I would fit in.  It frightened me so I prayed.  I felt God was showing me I would be OK but HE didn't tell me how I would be OK in this.

One thing I do see is that we become less important in our own eyes.

When my mother was in her 70's, I would visit her and often a woman named Mrs. Dunn would call and mother would talk with her on phone.  Sometimes I would hear my mother talking and then there would be long periods where my mother was not talking but was still holding phone to her ear,  One day, during a period of such silence, my mother said, "I think Mrs. Dunn is taking a nap."  My mother would just hold the phone to her ear until Mrs. Dunn talked again.

One time Mrs. Dunn lost her bank.  She just couldn't remember the name of her bank.  My mother drove her all over the town going from one bank to another.  They would drive up to teller window and ask, "Is this Mrs. Dunn's bank?"  Finally they found her bank.

I never heard my mother complain about doing these things nor did I hear her scoff at Mrs. Dunn.  I don't think my mother considered herself to be too important.

A couple of times before Mrs. Dunn died she called my mother and invited her to come hear the men who were singing in her attic.  Mrs. Dunn said they were more wonderful than any singers she had ever heard before.  I always rejoiced at this story for I think those "men" singing in Mrs. Dunn's attic were angels.

.

Followup: Asking God for help

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I was reminded of something that happened to me recently.  I had gone to lunch with Betsy (acquaintance from Bridge Center).  Betsy did something in driving that made another driver angry and he honked a long honk at her to show his anger.
I told Betsy there was no danger in what she had done.  She wasn't even close to his car when he honked at her.  He just wanted to show anger.  And he wanted to put her down.

Further, I mentioned to Betsy that several months ago I determined never to use car horn unless there was a danger and a person needed to be warned.  For to use horn in anger can upset the emotion of the other driver and cause them unnecessary trouble and I do not want to be a part of doing that to them.

Worthy?

Revelation 5 ... 1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

3And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

(Under the earth ... those dead ... Neither Abraham, David, Paul  (servants of God) ... just Jesus)

4And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

5And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Revelation: Chapter 10

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

2 And he had in his hand a little book open:

and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth:

and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound,  the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said,

Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him,

Give me the little book.

And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

10 And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

Called to be as little children

Pam Padgett - teacher

A few days ago I was thinking about how when I was about ten years old, I no longer wanted to be considered a child.  I tried to distance myself from things I considered childish, such as children's tv shows, and wanted to be considered an adult.

I mentioned this to Joan and she later asked me if this was because I wanted to be important.  I hadn't thought in terms of wanting to be important and didn't think this was the case.  But later I looked up what the word "important" means and saw ... having or acting as if having power, authority, influence, value.  This reminded me of what I wanted, to be seen as mature and impressive to others rather than as a child.  Being wise in my own eyes and wanting to be seen by others as wise.  To be important.

Throughout our lives our flesh wants to be seen as important by other people.  To show itself to be great or valuable in some way. But this is not the way we are to go.

Joan had been reminded of what Jesus taught us in the following ...

Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted (changed), and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

God has chosen us to be His children.  Not to seek greatness among men nor try to impress men.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Is it weak faith to go to medical doctor?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Faith has to do with hearing what God wants us to do in the various decisions pertaining to this life.

The Bible shows us a medical doctor in the church.  Paul called Luke the "beloved physician".  Col. 4:14

When you are sick, when there is a need for help, you might have to go to a medical doctor.  It is not weak faith to do so.  We pray, asking God what to do, and we try to do what we believe God shows us to do.

About 6 years ago, the eye doctor who fills the prescriptions for my eye glasses said he thought I might have glaucoma.  He wanted me to see a specialist.  I prayed much about what to do.  Finally, I made the decision based on "peace".  When I thought of not going to doctor over this matter, I had no peace, and was very troubled.  I went to specialist and he said I have glaucoma.  I've been going to doctor every 4 to 6 months since this time and the eye pressure has been controlled by eye drops.

At one point, eye doctor frightened me very much.  I turned to God with the fear that I might lose my vision.  God settled me by giving me an example of 3 elderly people I knew and none of them lost their vision though they each had eye disease.  I felt God was showing me I would not lose my vision.  Later we discovered the machine doctor had which caused him to question my "vision loss" was likely faulty.  When another doctor gave me same tests on newer machine, these tests did not show the vision loss of the previous machine.

Recently I had bladder infection ... much discomfort.  I prayed much about this, what to do?  The problem stopped completely.  But it returned a few days later.  Then it stopped again.  Then it returned again.  At that point I decided to go to medical doctor.  I was praying all during these weeks of dealing with the subject.  I thought I might go to one of the many clinics where you just walk in without appointment and wait to see doctor.  I prayed.  Then I had the impression to call the doctor I have gone to for sleeping pills.  I also felt it might be easier on me to go to appointment rather than to go to clinic where I might have to wait for hours to see a physician.  I felt this information was from God.  So that morning I called doctor's office and asked if I could get in to see him that afternoon.  He could see me at 3 pm at same day.  This is what I did.  I believed it was God leading me to go this way so I had faith to go to medical doctor.

Faith is simply praying, asking God what to do, and then doing what you feel God shows you to do.
