Glory in the cross of Jesus Christ

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Galatians 6:14  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

Glory in the cross of Jesus.

When we think about the cross of Jesus, we think about a terrible death.  Yet Jesus willingly laid down His life because it was the will of God for Him to do this.

We know He did not want to do this.  Three times He prayed for this cup to be removed from Him, "Nevertheless, not My will, but Thy will be done."   Matthew 26:36-44

And what is the cross of Jesus?  A terrible suffering and death unequaled.  But most of all, it is Jesus' willingness to die for someone really ugly.  Not for a beautiful person, but an ugly person, a person filthy in the sight of God, helpless in the sight of God, boastful, proud, arrogant, very ugly, not able to see that he is really awful.

There's a scripture which says a person might die for a good person, but not for a sinner.  Jesus died for sinners.

Romans 5:7-8   For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Well, that is certainly an unusual situation, and we should glory in the fact that Jesus died for sinners and died such a death as the cross.

And we sin if we fail to enter into that salvation provided by the blood of Jesus ... for we fail to enter in when we hold onto our sins, and tell other people about our sins, and try to pay for our sins by our own works ... for our works will never be adequate.

We fail to enter into the blood of Jesus every time we try to make ourselves worthy, for we will never be worthy.  No man is worthy.

Revelation 5:1-10    And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.

And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

And they sung a new song, saying,

THOU art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for THOU wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by THY blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
