2 Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

God will destroy the heavens and earth.  The entire heavens will pass away as well the entire earth.  WHO has power to make this happen?  Only God who created the heavens and earth.

And God will create a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth complete righteousness.  Only God has power to do this.

So we learn to fear not man who can kill the body but not the soul.  And we fear God who can destroy both body and soul in hell.

Jesus says:

Matthew 10:28  And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear HIM which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22

14 Blessed are they that do HIS commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
