Hebrews 3

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

Choose to believe verses in the New Testament Bible on the subject at hand.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

18 And to whom sware HE that they should not enter into HIS rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Keep the Holy Scriptures before you on the subjects when doubt come and make a determination to believe what the scripture says.

1 John 4:4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

3 John 1:4  I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

For the past couple days I heard on the TV news that a winter storm with heavy snows may be coming.   I prayed and asked God what I needed to prepare, and took care of those things brought to my attention.

Late Wednesday night it started snowing very heavily.   During the night, a power outage occurred, but power was restored by 2am.

Then, even before getting out of bed on Thursday morning, some fearful thoughts came that we were not prepared for such heavy snows and more power outages if they came.

Immediately, I was reminded by the Holy Spirit of James 1:5 and that I had asked God for wisdom in how to prepare for this weather.  It was especially comforting to think on the promise we are given in this verse ... that if we ask God for wisdom, it will be given to us.

James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Focusing on this overcame the fearful thoughts that said we weren't prepared.

I Corinthians 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

1 John 4:1-4   Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God; and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it shall come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Philippians 1:6.  Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.   (NIV)
