The apostle Peter said:

I Peter 4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Was Peter a false prophet?  God forbid.  But 2000 years have passed and we have not see "the end".

Peter himself explained this:

2 Peter 3

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of HIS coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

God sees time differently from man.  By this measure, it has been approximately 2 days since the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus and since Peter spoke these words about the end of all things being near.

I believe some of us might see the end God prescribes.

2 Peter 3:10-14

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

(JB I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the earth destroyed by nuclear weapons before the earth completely passes away destroyed by God.)

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

John 9:4  I must work the works of HIM that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

I was in a house that was not mine.

(JB ... This world is not Beth's home.)

I was preparing to go home....thinking about what was needed first.. then second ... I was organized to go quickly. During this process unexpected company came. There were several of them. They were making a mess of everything .... unruly .... loud ...... demanding.
At one point I was physically fighting a man. I slapped him as hard as I could in the face. I was shocked when the slap had no effect. He was undeterred. I ran and left without any of my belongings. I met my husband and we both proceeded to go home. We were late because of the company. Somehow time seemed of the essence. We were at a crossroad and I was praying for God to show us which way to go. It was dusk and immediately everything on the street changed as the sun was going down. The people on the street were criminal and ghoulish. They were coming toward us. I knew that we had to make a choice and go quickly. I awoke.

In thinking about the dream and asking God for wisdom I believe that home is heaven. The unruly guests are spirits that try to keep us from going to heaven. They are very strong.

(JB... remember...Greater is HE that is in you than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4)

The period of time that we have on earth is limited and it is getting late.

A few months ago, the Spirit spoke to me and said, "It is later than you think.".

Mark 13:33  Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

(JB ... I think it is late also.)

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

Yesterday I found out that a man who sounded perfect to do some repairs on the stair banister was not taking on any more jobs like this.  I was disappointed.  But then I was reminded by the Holy Spirit of what we're told in Romans 8:28 and was really helped.

Things may not go as we had planned or hoped.  But for us who love God and are called according to HIS purpose, God causes all things to work together for good according to HIS will and purpose in the situation.

1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.

Psalm 62:11  God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Sometimes you will hear people talk about an object having power, bringing them good luck. After my dad had died my mom thought that having his jacket hanging on her porch was somehow helping or protecting her. I thought of the above verse.

Romans 8:35  Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For THY sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us.
