Beware of trusting in that which "you" do.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

God knows you will be reading this blog at this exact moment.

It is important for you to realize that.

I come to you as an apostle/prophet in the church.  This is my calling.

What does that mean?  apostles have anointing from God to deal with church doctrines and prophets today are trying to get the individuals who are the church to be ready for the return of Jesus.

If we are ready when Jesus returns, we will be taken out before the great tribulation.  If we are not ready, I believe we will be left on this earth.  Therefore Jesus warns us over and over in the Bible to "watch and be ready" …

Luke 21:34-36    Jesus says   And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (over indulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

***

How do we keep ourselves ready for the return of Jesus?

The apostle Peter tells us in the following scripture:

II Peter 3:14    Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM  in peace, without spot, and blameless.

***

We are warned in Bible that we don't know the day or the hour that Jesus will return so "be ready."

We must "be diligent" at all times to be found in peace, without spot, and blameless.

If we have unforgiveness in our heart toward another person we are not ready for the return of Jesus,

Are we living without spot and blameless …

The return of Jesus will be like a surprise visit …  it could come at any time.

Will we be ready?  or will we be caught ashamed, wishing we had taken care of something before  the visitor arrived at our house.

I believe the church that is ready will be taken out … while the church that is not ready will be left behind.

Thus the following scripture:

Matthew 24:37-51   But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;  And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

***

In the early days when I was called to the ministry, church people were often asking me, "Do you believe the church will be taken out before the great tribulation?"

(This subject was highly debated in churches in those days.)

I always answered, "I don't know."  (God had not revealed that to me at that time.)

But now, 40-years later, I believe God has revealed the truth to me on this subject.

The answer to the question is, "Both."

The church that is ready will be taken out before the great tribulation.  The church that is not ready will be left behind and will go through the great tribulation.

Therefore … Jesus says: Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. (Matthew 24:44)

The apostle Paul warns us about trusting in that which "we" do.

Philippians 3:3-7    For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

(These are the religious works Paul did before God revealed Jesus to Paul.)

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

***

People can go to church, eat crackers and drink grape juice at church thinking it is the Lord supper, and still avail nothing of God  ...

(The Lord's supper is eating and drinking the Word of God ... but even then we must do this in a proper way, led by the Holy Spirit, focusing on that which is called to our attention by the Holy Spirit.)

Everything that counts with God has to do with hearing from the Holy Spirit and following the Holy Spirit of God!

Apart from hearing from the Holy Spirit and following HIM, nothing matters that we do.

***

A woman who was in our little church group was having many difficulties.  She said to me, "You have no idea how hard I am working."

(I thought, "This is probably part of her problem," ... her hard work.)

For I do not find that I work "hard" at anything that is of God.

All I do is read the Bible and focus strongly when the Holy Spirit calls my attention to a verse or section of scripture.

I do not look for messages in every verse.  I do not try to do every verse.

When I read Bible, I trust in God to show me if I need to pay special attention to something.

To me, reading the Bible is relaxing and like taking a warm shower ... just letting the Word of God wash over me ... And if there is something I need to pay close attention to and look into more deeply, I will know this because I will get sort of "hung up" on that verse.

When that happens, I stop reading and start praying:  "God ... please show me what YOU are trying to tell me in this verse."

***

Daily on our blog, we print a compilation of those scriptures presented that day in our blog.

Pam Padgett prints these scriptures out for me daily and brings the sheets of scriptures to me.

I prepare myself to read these scriptures.

First, I want my mind clear from other things before I read.  I want to be completely free and at rest, not thinking of some problem. If I have a problem or concern, I do not read the list of scriptures.  I pray instead, settling matters with God.  I cannot read scripture if I am concerned about another person or if I am troubled about something in my life.  That has to be dealt with first, before I read scripture.

Then, when I am at complete peace and rest, I begin reading the list of verses.

If anything in any verse catches my attention, I stop and focus on that point, believing it is the Holy Spirit Who is calling my attention to that.

When I have drained every drop of "blood" from that verse ... then I go on in my reading.

There have been times I have read the entire compilation of daily scriptures without feeling anything is called to my attention.  When that happens, I am not troubled.  I just treat it as a warm shower, resting in that inward knowledge I have that if there is something that needs special attention, The Holy Spirit will call that to my attention.

I do not want to trust in my own flesh.  I want to trust in God and what I know about the working of HIS Spirit that is in me.

All religious activities and religious works are futile unless it is the Holy Spirit who is leading you to  focus on that scripture or that work.

Jesus says:

Matthew 7:21-23    Not every one that saith unto ME, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of MY Father which is in heaven.

(How do we know the will of God?  By the Spirit of God WHO rises up in us to bring the issue to our attention, for it is the Spirit of God WHO searches the heart of God and knows the thinking of God on the matter and shows us what God is thinking about what we are doing or planning to do.   I Corinthians 2)

22 Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.

Unless that work which we think to be "good" is authored by God by HIS Spirit, that which we do is a work of iniquity in the sight of God.

Many church people will be turned away at the day of judgment because of such things.

They will come saying, "But I sacrificed my life ... I visited the sick ... I gave much money ... I did this ... I did that!"  But if the acts were not authored by God by HIS Spirit, then you do an evil work.

Everything good thing is done in us by God by HIS Spirit.

***

Many will eat and drink the Word of God incorrectly.  There is a penalty when such happens.

I Corinthians 11:27-31    Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

(We must prepare ourselves to read the Bible or blog or hear the Word of God.  We do this by prayer.  If we are in strife with another, we must forgive that other person first and settle the matter "with God" before we pick up Bible or a religious work such as blog.  We must be at complete peace before we begin reading otherwise we will find ourselves reading while our mind is thinking of something else other than that which we are reading. And our dependency must be on God, trusting that HE will give us HIS understanding.  We cannot trust in our own thinking.)

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

(The Holy Spirit catches our attention on a verse and we "examine ourselves" by that verse, taking proper action when needed, but being led by the Spirit of God.)

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep (die).

31 For if we would judge ourselves (by the Spirit of God), we should not be judged.

***

I Corinthians 2:9-13    But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

(The Holy Spirit brings ideas, thoughts, concepts, dreams, visions, scripture to our mind to cause us to think upon these things.)

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

***

And we know the work of the Spirit of God because Jesus tells us what the Holy Spirit does in the believer.

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The devil frightens you:  "You have to do such and such otherwise you might let it slip."

The Holy Spirit leads you to do such and such for your good.

The devil often drives you.  The Holy Spirit leads you.

Both can seem right.

So you have to sort though everything with God through prayer, trusting in HIM to show you, especially when there is confusion.

And beware of being puffed-up religiously, thinking you know the answers and don't need "that".

I've seen many fall because they thought they already knew.

***

But we know real godliness because we have been made by God to be godly.

I Corinthians 8:2   And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know

Hymn:  Standing on the promises

(Click forward arrow > to play music:)

1.  Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Chorus:

Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of
Christ my Savior;
Standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God.

2.   Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

Standing on the promises of God.

3.  Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

4.  Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,

Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5.  Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Standing on the promises of God.

The following scripture pertains to this hymn:

v. 2   By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

The living word of God is the word spoken to you by the Spirit of God.  By His Spirit, God will bring to our mind ideas that show us what to do, or scriptures which show us what to do.

And when it is of God, it will never fail.  We can put our trust in what we have heard from God by His Spirit.

The living word of God is just exactly that, living, because it pertains to the exact subject you are dealing with at that moment in time.

You can hunt for a scripture and fail. Or you can try to figure out what to do and fail.

But you will not fail when it is the Holy Spirit bringing the concept or a scripture to your mind to guide you in the matter at hand.

Here are promises from Jesus concerning the work the Holy Spirit will do for us.

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself (of His own thinking); but whatsoever He shall hear (from God), that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

4 things the Holy Spirit does for the believer:

- HE teaches us all things. (secular and spiritual)
- HE reminds us of all Jesus has said to us through scripture, dreams, concepts
- HE guides us into all truth.  (often one thing at a time ... you do the first thing ... then a second idea comes and you do that ... on until the matter is resolved)
- HE shows us things to come.  (often by dreams ... sometimes by just knowing)

***

v. 3   Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

We are freed every time we have a word from God brought to our mind by His Spirit, and when we believe and act on that word in the midst of the trial or temptation.

Even doing nothing can be freeing.  If there is a problem and you pray and you do not see anything to do, then don't do anything!

Example:  The ministry owns the house where I lived in Texas.  We wanted to change realtors and we thought we had a realtor but that didn't work out.  We didn't know what to do.  Even after prayer, we had no idea what to do.  We just sat there.  (We did send an email telling our contractor in Texas the second realtor was not going to work out.)  As soon as the contractor read that email, he called us.  He said he would help us find a realtor.  Then he called us the following morning telling us that he had talked with another builder and he thought he might have a realtor for the house.  Contractor said he wanted to meet with the realtor at the property to see if she really liked the house and if he approved her for us he would pass her on to us.

It is amazing how my faith in God soared with this.  By doing nothing, we saw God do something in a way I had not seen before.

Another example:

Several years ago, I received a birthday card from a high school friend.  In the card she enclosed a note telling me all the plans she had for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  She was going to be with her husband, her daughter, and her grandchildren, celebrating.

Instantaneously, the Holy Spirit brought to my mind these words, "You are dead, and your life is hid with Christ."

I replied to the Holy Spirit, "Yes!"

Then I saw that if I had not heard from the Holy Spirit in this matter, I might have been a little bit depressed or down because I don't have a husband, or daughter, or grandchildren.  Nor did I have any plans for the holidays.  I was going to be alone.

But God delivered me from depression or sadness by bringing His word on the matter by His Spirit.

Colossians 3:1-4  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

***

v. 4   Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,

God speaks to each of His children by His Spirit which lives inside each child.  The Holy Spirit brings thoughts from God to our minds to show us the way of God and the will of God as we live on this earth.

We overcome the trials and temptations of this present earth as we hear from the Holy Spirit daily, and take appropriate action to the instruction given by the Spirit.

You do have to be careful.  For the devil will try to imitate God and bring thoughts to your mind which are opposite to the way God wants you to go.  And often our own fleshly preferences will bring thoughts to us which seem good to us, but are opposite to the way God wants us to go.

Prove all things by prayer and Bible.

If you will ask God to confirm the way to go and to make it clear to you which thought is HIS, and if you will take time before you act, it will be made clear to you which thought is from God.

We must pay attention to those things spoken to our minds by the Holy Spirit in order to follow God.  And we do overcome daily with the Spirit's sword.

***

v. 5   List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Once we have established that a thought is from God, we must focus on that thought and rest in that word that we have heard from God concerning the matter at hand.  Often, we have to keep it before us day and night to be strong enough to continue in that direction.

Instruction In Righteousness: II Corinthians 7

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

(Psalm 34:19    Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.)

Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.

13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

14 For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

15 And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.

16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

God speaks to us

Book:  Building Your House On The Word Of God
Chapter 8
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In the Old Testament (the old covenant), God spoke to HIS people by HIS prophets.

Today, God speaks directly to each of HIS people by HIS Son, by the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:1-2 ...God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, WHOM HE hath appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM also HE made the worlds;

*****

I John 2:27 ... But the anointing which ye have received of HIM abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in HIM.

*****

The Holy Spirit given to each believer to dwell inside the believer, shows us the way of God as we live on this present earth.  HE speaks to us usually by putting a "gentle" thought into our minds, showing us the way to go.

Jesus said:

John 14:26 ...  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13 ... Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

*****

Paul explains:

I Corinthians 2 ...

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.

But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

*****

God speaks to HIS people today by thoughts brought to our mind by the Holy Spirit, by dreams, by words carried by other people, by angels of God who watch over us and speak to us as God wills to show us the way of God and the will of God.

*****

We have many examples in the NT of God sending a dream to lead HIS people.

Matthew 1:18-25 ... Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying,

Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for HE shall save HIS people from their sins.

*****

Matthew 2 ... (concerning the wise men who came to the manger to worship the baby Jesus) ...  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

*****

Matthew 2 ... But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

*****

Matthew 2 ... But when he (Joseph) heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

*****

Are there any examples in the New Testament of God leading a person by a dream when that person has the Holy Spirit?

Acts 16 ... And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.  And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

*****

We establish by the New Testament that God uses dreams to lead us even after we have the Holy Spirit in us.

In 1982, God gave me a dream showing me I would be in great danger of harm if I went out and spoke to the church as I had been doing.  (I had been giving judgment messages and some messages were very unpopular.)  In the dream where I was warned, I heard:

"Don't go until you see Exodus 15."

Immediately, I canceled all meetings scheduled for the remainder of that year.

A woman heard of what I had done in cancelling meetings and she came to me and said, "Joan you can't do this.  You must go out.  If you go out and have meetings they will give money.  If you don't go out you will lose money."

Without any thought, I replied:  "God told me not to go out.  So I'm not going."

*****

For several years, (1985-2002) I took care of my mother, living in the town where my mother lived.

During that time, God gave me a dream showing me I needed to find a way out of my house but I could not go through my cousin's house.

My mother died.  My cousin wanted me to move to the city where she lived with her husband and where her two adult aged sons lived nearby.  She said to me, "The boys (and husband) will be such a help to you."

But God had warned me in that dream not to try to go through my cousin's house.

I ended up going 350 miles in another direction.

*****

During that time, God gave me a dream showing me that I was building a house.

After my mother died, I did have a house built in Lubbock, Texas.  The sale of the previous property in Clovis, NM (USA), was used to pay for the new construction.  But contractor fired his bookkeeper and the cost of the house ran more than expected.  I told contractor just to put house up for sale, that I couldn't pay the extra money.

God brought the following scripture to my mind:

Isaiah 65:21-23 ... And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.

Then God gave me the following dream:  A meteor was outside my kitchen window, just hovering there.  It lifted and went over the top of my house.  I expected it to explode and destroy the house and me but nothing happened.

I did not ask anyone for money but one of our church members knew what was happening and she called me and wanted to loan me the money to pay for the extra construction cost.  I accepted. Within 6 months I was able to repay her.

At the time I'm writing this I'm still living in this house.  It is 14-years-old now.

March 27, 2012, God gave me this dream ... A woman was singing.  I said, "It's a little voice but it is a nice little voice."  Then people began talking as the church.  I realized I was being shown a blog.

Immediately I called Pam Padgett who worked as a computer programmer at Fed Ex, and I asked Pam if she could set up a blog for us.  She said she didn't know anything about blogs but she probably could do it.  Within 3 days we began publishing exhortations for the church on a blog:   Jesus Ministries Exhortations

It is indeed "a little voice", but it is certainly "a nice little voice", going all over the world daily, costing us nothing to publish exhortations instantly.

The first day we published on the blog, we had 2 page views from Germany.

We were so excited.  It never occurred to us before then that these exhortations were going to go all over the world on internet.  WWW ... World Wide Web

We have published exhortations for the church daily since that time in late March, 2012.

God speaks to us through angels.

Acts 5 ...Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.  But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

Acts 27 ... And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

January 10, 1980 ... I was asleep in the night when a trumpet-like voice blew 3 words into my ear:

   "Hartford ... Seattle ... KWJS"

I jumped out of bed and wrote "KWJS" on a notepad.

The next morning, I found KWJS to be a radio station.

I said to God, "Are YOU telling me to go on radio?  I wouldn't know how to do that."

A gentle voice, in the form of a thought, said:  "Call the radio station manager."

I called the station as soon as I thought business hours were starting.  I asked to speak to the station manager.  He came on the phone immediately.  I said to him, "God might be showing me to go on radio.  How would I do that?"

He replied:  "Make an audition tape 29 1/2 minutes long and send it to us and if you fit our programming, we will offer you a contract."

Since I had a tape recorder at my apartment, I made a tape immediately and mailed it that same day.

Within 5 days, I was broadcasting weekdays on KJWS.

In looking back, I have felt that trumpet-like voice was an angel of God delivering instruction.

God speaks to us in form of thoughts brought to our mind by the Holy Spirit.  It can be instructions or could be scripture showing us what to do.

A man in our little church group, was considering building a second storage building to hold his "stuff".  As he thought about this, the following thought came into his mind.  (Wisdom from God by the Spirit of God)

"Why don't you just get rid of the stuff?"

When I was taking care of my mother, we would go daily to bring home food.  It always cost the same amount:  $5.30

I would  take the money out of my purse, a $5 bill and a quarter and a nickel, and leave my purse in car with my mother and go in and get our take-out food.
One day,  I didn't have a quarter & a nickel.
As I dug through my coin purse looking intently at the loose change, I had the following come into my mind:

"Three dimes will work."

That's right ... it will!

(Holy Spirit, the helper, helping.)

The week of my birthday, a woman who was a high school classmate, sent me birthday card and a note.  In her note, she told me of her many activities.  Her grandson got married the previous month.  Her daughter and several others were coming to have Thanksgiving dinner with her and her husband.
Immediately the following came into my mind.

"You are dead and your life is hid with Christ!"

That's right ... I shouted!

I believe this was God comforting me by the Holy Spirit, The Comforter.  For I had no one to have dinner with on Thanksgiving.  I had no son, no daughter, no grandchild, no husband and if I had not heard this from Holy Spirit I believe I would have been a pulled down a little by the note in the birthday card.

Colossians 3 ... If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, WHO is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with HIM in glory.

I was in my car, stopped at a red light.

A pickup truck pulling a flat bed trailer pulled along side of me.  Stacked on that trailer was a load of firewood.

As I looked at the firewood, I was thinking how much I would enjoy having a wood burning fireplace.  (I had gas logs in my fireplace.)

Into my mind came the following:

"You can have a wood fireplace."

This is the first time I had ever considered such a thing.  (I believe this was God speaking to me through HIS Spirit, the Holy Spirit.)

The next day, I called the fireplace store and arranged to have the gas logs removed and wood racks and a gas log lighter installed.

I've had wood burning fireplace for several years now and love it.

Psalm 84:11 ... For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will HE withhold from them that walk uprightly.

My life is filled with examples of God speaking to me through thoughts delivered by HIS Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

This is not unusual at all.  I find it happens to believers all the time.  And shouldn't this be expected since the apostle Paul told us the following...

Romans 8:14 ... For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Sometimes God, by HIS Spirit (the Holy Spirit), will show us things to come by a dream or even by impressions put into our heart.

In 1982, I was given the following dream:

I was in a tall, glass building.  Something began to happen outside.  It was like the building was being bombed.  The building began shaking and it felt like it might fall in on us.

In the dream, I heard the following:  This is not the first bombing but the second.

I knew it would change everything and that life would never be the same again.

I thought this pertained to the banking industry since the tall, glass building looked like many of those buildings banks erect for themselves.

In 2001, I saw the dream appear on TV.

It was the destruction of the World Trade Center towers!

Before this happened in 2001, God gave me two more dreams which turned out to be the same event though I didn't see this until it appeared on TV news.

In one dream, my mother and I were in NYC.  Something happened.  We were then in NJ and I looked back at Manhattan island and saw the large billows of smoke and dust in the air at the tip of NYC.  You couldn't see much except the smoke and dust clouds but the landmarks were gone, no longer there.

Many times since then, when they re-show the 9/11 event, I see my exact dream when they show the smoke and dust looking back on Manhattan from New Jersey.

In the third dream of this 9/11 destruction, I was in a cafΓ© and one firetruck and police car after another went racing past with their sirens on full voice.

Again, when I have see replays of 9/11, I have heard this happening and I always shudder.

Scriptures presented in today's blog

(Recommend:  Copy these scriptures on paper and keep before you day and night.)

Luke 21:34-36    Jesus says   And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (over indulence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.  For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

***

II Peter 3:14    Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM  in peace, without spot, and blameless.

***

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;  And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

***

Matthew 24:44 … Jesus says ... Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

***

Philippians 3:3-7    For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

***

Matthew 7:21-23    Not every one that saith unto ME, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of MY Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.

***

I Corinthians 11:27-31    Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

***

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13    Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

***

I Corinthians 8:2   And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know

***

Colossians 3:1-4  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

***

Hebrews 1:1-2 ...God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, WHOM HE hath appointed heir of all things, BY WHOM also HE made the worlds;

***

I John 2:27 ... But the anointing which ye have received of HIM abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in HIM.

***

***

***

Matthew 2 ... (concerning the wise men who came to the manger to worship the baby Jesus) ...  And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

***

Matthew 2 ... But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

Matthew 2 ... But when he (Joseph) heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

***

Acts 5 ...Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.  But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
