πŸ’₯ Podcast: David prayed: "Take not THY Holy Spirit from me" (Psalm 51)

David was a man after God's own heart.  (Acts 13:22)  

God took the Spirit from Saul who was king and gave HIS Spirit to David and God had the prophet Samuel to anoint David as king and God removed Saul from being king.

At one point, David greatly sinned, and David prayed:

Psalm 51

2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4 Against THEE, THEE only, have I sinned, and done this evil in THY sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, THOU desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part THOU shalt make me to know wisdom.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which THOU hast broken may rejoice.

9 Hide THY face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from THY presence; and take not THY Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore unto me the joy of THY salvation; and uphold me with THY free spirit.

As long as we have living in us God's Holy Spirit, we have what we need to be able to go forward.   For it is the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth, teaches us all things, reminds us of all Jesus has said, shows us the will of God, and even shows us that which is to come by the will of God.

John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

I Corinthians 2

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The apostle Paul says:

 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

We know we still have the Holy Spirit of Jesus living in us when we witness HIM doing the work of God through us.

We who believe in the resurrection do not sorrow in death as the pagans sorrow.

I Thessalonians 4

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Those who die are asleep.  And when they are born again they will be raised by Jesus.

We will have new spiritual bodies before we are taken into the new heaven and new earth wherein dwells righteousness.

I Corinthians 15:50-52  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Blink:  that is how fast we will be changed into our new spiritual bodies.

We worship God in spirit and in truth in the church today as Jesus said to do.

John 4

19 The woman saith unto HIM (to Jesus), Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: We once served the world and God redeemed us as HE redeemed the children of Israel from serving Egypt

The children of Israel served the Egyptians for 400 years until God brought them out of their bondage.

Deuteronomy 15:15  And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: 

We once served this world and the ideas and goals of the flesh of man, but God redeemed us also from the bondage of the flesh.

Now we are a new creature, born again by God, and we serve God now doing the will of God.

I Corinthians 6

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Romans 6

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into HIS death?

4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:

Even on this earth today, we live with Christ as we follow the Holy Spirit of God, keeping our flesh crucified, not allowing our flesh to do what it wants to do but causing our flesh to be dead by following that which the Holy Spirit of God brings to our mind in the specific situations of this life.

Before God revealed HIMSELF to us we were in bondage, serving the desires of our own flesh and mind, and serving the god of this present world.

Then when God opened our eyes to HIMSELF we were changed instantly from serving ourselves and this world and we were recreated, born again, as new creatures who now serve God and desire things of God.

Salvation is of God.

God opened our eyes to see and revealed HIMSELF to us showing us truth.

And God changed us.

II Corinthians 5:17   Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And we are grateful to God for saving us for we know we didn't do anything to deserve salvation.  We are saved by God because it was the will of God for us to be saved.

God opened our eyes to see and gave us understanding concerning things of God and we were born again by God giving us HIS Holy Spirit to live in us and to teach and guide us in all things.

From within we are changed by God by HIS Spirit.  It is not that we change ourselves by learning but rather God changes us by giving us HIS understanding.

Therefore we continually thank God for saving us!

It is not what we did, but what God did.

So instead of being self righteous by our works, our righteousness is of God through His will for us.

Gratitude instead of pride is the fruit when we understand God chose us.

Salvation is of God, not by our own will or works.

God chose us and gave us understanding and opened our eyes so we could see things of God.

When HE caused us to see, we were born again, believing that which HE told us.

πŸ’₯ Matthew 19 (Reading through the Bible)


And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

And great multitudes followed Him; and He healed them there.

The Pharisees also came unto Him, tempting Him, and saying unto Him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

And He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

(At the time of sexual intercourse, you become one flesh.  Therefore fornication is a very serious matter.  We know this by I Corinthians 6:15-16.  Paul explains that even if you have sex with an harlot you become one flesh.  Paul says:  Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith He, shall be one flesh.)

Matthew 19:7   They say unto Him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

(The only scriptural reason for a man to divorce his wife is fornication.  If a man divorces a faithful wife and she remarries, she commits adultery and the husband who divorced her is the cause of her adultery when she was faithful to him.  And the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.)

10 His disciples say unto Him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 But He said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

πŸ’₯ The Word of God is great treasure to us

Psalm 119:162  I rejoice at THY word, as one that findeth great spoil (treasure).

When we are given God's word to us on a matter, we rejoice for there is nothing more precious than having God's perfect direction and judgment. HIS Word is the right and best way and will never fail.

I am reminded of how the wise men came from the east to worship Jesus when HE was born.

Matthew 2:1-2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is HE that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen HIS star in the east, and are come to worship HIM.


Herod was troubled when he heard this and asked the wise men when the star appeared. (Herod also tried to trick them into telling him where Jesus was when they found HIM, but by a dream God led them another way.)

After Herod talked with them, we are told how the wise men greatly rejoiced when they again saw the star which caused them to come to Jerusalem and now led them to exactly where Jesus was in Bethlehem.


Matthew 2:9-10  When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.


God leads us in the way we are to go as well, and we rejoice as we see HIM lead us each step of the way. We may be led by a word given directly to us by the Holy Spirit, by a dream, by a scripture, by a vision ... however God chooses.

Regardless of how God chooses to give us HIS Word, it is great treasure to us, leading us in the way to go to accomplish HIS purpose in our lives.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: Chosen by God: an holy people, the children of Israel, and the Christians of the New Testament church

Deuteronomy 14:2  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto HIMSELF, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

The children of Israel were chosen by God to be HIS people in the Old Testament.

Noah found grace in the sight of God and God saved Noah from the great flood.

Abraham was chosen by God and was given promises concerning the nations that were to come from him.

Genesis 12:1-4  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him;

And God gave promises to both Isaac and Jacob, Abraham's son and grandson. 

God spoke to them also and made HIMSELF known.

To Isaac, God said:  Go not down into Egypt; dwell into the land which I shall tell thee of:  Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;  And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed MY voice, and kept MY charge, MY commandments, MY statutes, and MY laws.  (Genesis 26:2-5)

God revealed HIMSELF to Jacob:  And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;  And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.  And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.  (Genesis 28:10-15)

Later Jacob was renamed by God as Israel.  HIS 12 sons were the children of Israel, the 12 tribes of Israel.

To Joseph, one of the 12 sons, God revealed HIMSELF by dreams.  His brothers hated Joseph because the dreams showed Joseph ruling over them.  So they sold Joseph into bondage and Joseph was taken down into Egypt before the great famine came on the earth.  God gave wisdom to Joseph and therefore all that Joseph did prospered above all men.  Pharaoh saw this and made Joseph a ruler in Egypt, second only to himself.

70 men were the number of the children of Israel who went down into Egypt at the time of the great famine.

The generations of the children of Israel spent 430 years in Egypt and when they were delivered from Egypt by God, their number of men above the age of 20 was 603,550. (Exodus 38:26)  

Even under the years of adversity in Egypt, God multiplied them greatly as God said he would do in HIS promises to Abraham.

In all this we see when God reveals HIMSELF to an individual, God becomes their God.

In the New Testament, God chose people to Himself and opened their eyes to see things of God and caused those individuals to be born again.  And God put HIS name on them and gave each of them HIS Holy Spirit to teach them and guide them and show them things to come.  (John 14:26 & John 16:13)

The apostle Peter says:

I Peter 2

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of HIM who hath called you out of darkness into HIS marvellous light:

(We were "chosen" by God for salvation and God "called" us out of darkness by HIS Word and God opened our eyes so we could see the Word of God and we were "born again" by the Spirit of God.)

10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

The apostle Paul explains:  For HE saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.  (Romans 9:15-16)

God causes us to be born again as HIS own children.  We no longer serve this world as we once did but now God frees us so that we can serve HIM.  We are delivered by God and redeemed by God by the will of God. God opens our eyes to see things of the kingdom of God.  God causes us to believe the Word.

Romans 6

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God speaks to us individually, we are called by God, and changed into new people by God.

The apostle Paul:  And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou ME?  (Acts 9:3-4)

Paul was traveling with other men and they saw that bright light and heard a voice speaking from heaven but saw no man.   It was Paul (Saul) Jesus called by name.

And Paul explains that Jesus said to him:  But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;  Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,  To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in ME.  (Acts 26:16-18)

Joan Boney:  I was in my bedroom when God said to me by HIS Spirit:  "Joan ... you know all those mistakes you've been making all these years.  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."  (August 5, 1975)

I was changed immediately, born again, chosen by God, even named by name by God.

Pam PadgettA schoolmate was killed on a motorcycle.  When this happened, Pam, for the first time, realized someone her age could die.  (God opened Pam's understanding to see this.)  Also Pam knew only God could save her.  (God showed her this truth.)  So Pam called out to God asking God to save her.

Many people in Pam's circle heard of this boy being killed on a motorcycle but there is no evidence that any of those people understood they could also be killed and only God could save them.

God chose Pam among all those people and God revealed truth to Pam and cause her to turn to HIM.

Salvation is being chosen by God to salvation.

Acts 13:48  and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

God chooses each individual and opens the understanding for that individual and then that individual believes to salvation.

It is not that we choose God but rather God chooses us.

Thus the apostle Paul says:

Romans 9:18  Therefore hath HE mercy on whom HE will have mercy, and whom HE will HE hardeneth.

We are the chosen people of God as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the children of Israel were the chosen people of God.

And God reveals HIMSELF to us who are HIS chosen as HE revealed HIMSELF to those in the Old Testament who are HIS chosen.

Acts 2:47   And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Understanding is from God.  God opens our eyes and then we believe and understand.  It is not of our own thinking that we understand.  God causes us to understand and to believe HIS Word.  Thus salvation is of God and we are chosen by God.
