Now unto HIM that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

The power that worketh in us is the Holy Spirit of God who searches the heart of God to show us the will of God so we know what we can do on this present earth.

Example:  2020  I was considering my 25 year old car and thinking I might put new upholstery on the front seat of the car, when the following came into my mind from the Holy Spirit of God:  "Or you could just buy a new car."

I had never thought of doing that!

But I could.  I had sold my house in Texas and the money was sitting in the bank.  I could buy new car and still have money left over.

That same night, I had a dream:  "I bought a new car."

So the day after the dream we went to see new cars and bought one.

The power that works in us:

I Corinthians 3:16   Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

I Corinthians 2:1-14

1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM crucified.

3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.

10  But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

💥 Paralyzed by fear.

Last night I was stricken with terrible fears.  Immediately I began crying out to God for help!

I had no peace at all and I didn't know what to do.

I asked God to give me wisdom concerning the problem I was going through.

I didn't seem to hear anything at all from God.  There was no word that gave me God's peace or direction.

But I just kept continually crying out, "God ... please help me."

And I often thanked God:  for my salvation; for the wisdom HE has given me in times past; for Jesus and the Holy Spirit; for the place I now live in Colorado; for Pam Padgett the member of the body of Christ with whom I live now.

The great fear continued!

God will not fail us nor forsake us.  (Joshua 1:8-9 & Hebrews 13:5)  I know this is true.  I was sure God was hearing my cries.  (It didn't seem like it but I was certain HE was hearing me.)

At one point I tried distracting my mind by TV.  I found no TV show I could watch, because the fear was so great.

The fear continued uninterrupted and I cried out to God continually during the time of the attack which must have lasted about 3 hours.  (It started at approximately 10 PM.)

I know God has not given us the spirit of fear.

I began saying this aloud, over and over:  

"God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind".  (2 Tim. 1:7)

 (As I said this scripture over and over, it helped me some ... but still I didn't have peace nor information from God as needed.)

I had taken my nightly dose of prescribed Ambium  (sleep aid) at 9:30 pm.

At 1:00 a.m. I was still fighting the fears.

I was considering what else I might take to help me:  perhaps an aspirin?

Then the thought came to cut a small piece of a lesser dosage of ambium and take that.  By then it was 1 am.

I cut off a very small piece of an Ambium 10 and took that.

I got into bed and continued in prayer, asking God for help and thanking God.  Within about 3 minutes I had fallen asleep and slept soundly until 10:00 a.m. when I awakened knowing exactly what to do concerning the problem with which I was dealing.  I'm certain God planted these instructions in my heart and mind as I was sleeping!

All fear had vanished and I was rejoicing over that which I knew God told me to do.  (This is what always happens when God gives me the answer to a problem.)

The problems:

On Monday, October 3, Pam Padgett received test results showing she has a "high grade" aggressive type cancer.  Doctor said 4 chemotherapy treatments must begin immediately. Followed by surgery in Denver to remove the bladder and use part of intestines to rebuild a bladder.  Three days in hospital in Denver.  (We live in Colorado Springs, approximately 50 miles south of Denver and I cannot drive.)

After the 3 days in hospital, Pam would return home for 6-8 week recovery.

The main problem as I see it:  I cannot drive.  I am only able to walk a few steps with walker.  I am almost 85-years-old.  I can't cook food.  I can't take care of the animals: dogs and cats.  I use porta-potty which is in my bedroom and has to be changed daily. 

Basically I can do nothing at all except write exhortations for the blog daily and record Podcasts.

How can we get Pam home to Colorado Spings from hospital in Denver?

Here is the plan which I awoke with on the morning after all the fear struck. 

💥  Have doctor write prescription to have Pam transported home after surgery by ambulance.  (cost should be covered by Medicare and supplemental insurance with doctor's prescription.)

Ambulance workers will be able to transport Pam into the house and place her in bed or chair-lift recliner. 

The 50 mile ride in ambulance should be more comfortable for Pam than sitting up in car seat. 

💥  Have doctor prescribe registered nurse to be on duty for first 24-hour period at home. (This puts a medically trained person in change at home.)

💥  Second day: replace registered nurse with 24-hour skilled nurse from Home Health Care for 3-5 days.

💥  After first week:  switch to non-skilled worker from Home Health Care: (daily from 1-5) to prepare meals; render assistance to Pam in shower and toilet as needed; feed animals; walk dogs; change litter boxes and empty porta-potty from my room; laundry and house cleaning.

We have several things that we had already planned to do before hearing above plan from God.

* Rent hospital bed to be used in fireplace area downstairs:  (This room is adjacent to my bedroom and would allow me to check on Pam from time to time, especially at night.)

*  Mattress replacement in Pam's bedroom and upstairs guest room:  (We will begin looking at mattresses tomorrow and will purchase as soon as Pam finds what she wants to use.)

* Rent or purchase "lift-chair" recliner.  (I found it critical to have a lift chair after I returned from hospital after surgery.  Often I would sleep in the lift-chair instead of the bed because of pain.  Also it provided critical assistance that I needed when trying to get to the porta-potty)

Concerning "lift-chair":  I found the upholstery to be a problem.  (Unknown to me at that time I also had "shingles".  Fabrics caused pain to my skin.  So we had to put a silk sheet over the fabric.  It is probably better to try to get a lift-chair with a smooth soft cotton type fabric if you can find such.)

I found many helpful items to use when returning from hospital.  These are pictured in this book.

In all things, we have been helped by God in preparing for this situation.

Philippians 4:6-7  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God is faithful to us who believe in HIM to help us in all things.

God will not fail us nor forsake us.  (Joshua 1:8-9 & Hebrews 13:5)

God promises this to us!

We must hold fast even when there is no evidence that God hears us.

Matthew 16  (Jesus says:)

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, HE asked HIS disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 HE saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but MY Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The Church is built upon The Word that comes down from heaven:  The revealed Word from God.

Each time we read a scripture and God opens our understanding we have another "rock" upon which the church is built.

Also The Word comes from God by the Holy Spirit as HE shows us what to do as we live on this earth.  God simply calls something to our mind and we do that Word.

💥 Recession?

In this period of time, "recession" is one of the world news headlines.

 

One recent article was entitled, "How to prepare for recession."

One of the things the article said to do is to borrow $35,000 and pay off your debts.

God has led me to live another way.

💥💥💥

From the time I was born again in 1975, God taught me to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

At one time Master Card, asked card holders to consolidate all other debts with Master Card and put your debts on that card.

I didn't have any debts and even with Master Card I paid in full at the end of each billing.

At one point, they contacted me and said they no longer wanted me as a Master Card client because I didn't have any debts.  

So I switched to VISA.

Another thing God told me several years ago, is this:  "The time is coming that households will need to combine their living into one house instead of maintaining two houses."  

(I did that in 2019, but not because of debt.  I did that because of an accident where I could no longer live alone as I had been doing.)

I had no hesitation in making the change because God had prepared me by changing my heart.

My life greatly improved.  It is so much better now that I live in the home of another person who also has the Spirit of God.

So if you have been considering such a change, it really can be better if God is authoring the change.

The main thing that helps is to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Pray.  Seek the will of God in the matter.  Go in the way shown you by God.

Matthew 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Seek that which is right in the sight of God.

James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Podcast: The Word of God

 

 

 

Today Jesus comes to us by the HOLY Spirit as The Word is brought to our mind.  And The Word is brought by the Holy Spirit as God reveals the scriptures to us so we can understand and do the instruction.

The Word is the food from Jesus.

The Lord's Supper is The Word from God, Jesus.

Jesus says:

John 6

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to ME shall never hunger; and he that believeth on ME shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen ME, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth ME shall come to ME; and him that cometh to ME I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do MINE own will, but the will of HIM that sent ME.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which HE hath given ME I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of HIM that sent ME, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

41 The Jews then murmured at HIM, because HE said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that HE saith, I came down from heaven?

43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

44 No man can come to ME, except the Father which hath sent ME draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Crackers and grape juice are not The Lord's Supper.

The Word of God is The Lord's Supper.

8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Those persons who have the doctrine of Christ and have the same Spirit as us are great treasures to us.

But the other people of this world who have not the Spirit will vex us with their words and deeds. 

We think we can be around them but the minute we speak the Word of God what happens?  

1 Corinthians 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Titus 3

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

(heretick:  One who refuses to yield to the power of God through the scriptures; apostate: one who rejects the truth of the Bible and explains away scripture and refuses to conform to scriptures ... often this same person attends a church.)

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

This scripture tells us to walk away after the person has rejected the Word of God once or twice.  Don't keep trying to explain.  Understanding is from God.  

2 Timothy 3:5  Having a form of godliness (attending church), but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Podcast: God creates a new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness

 

 

 

 

Isaiah 65:17  For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Jesus will come through the air and the dead in Christ who sleep in Jesus will awaken and Jesus will gather them to HIMSELF "in the air".

A few years ago, the Holy Spirit said to me, "In the air."

I found that in the following scripture:

I Thessalonians 4

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (go before) them which are asleep (dead).

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

We will be taken into the air  and we will be taken to the new heaven and new earth .

God showed the apostle John the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteous.

Revelation 21 

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

God will destroy this present heaven and earth:

2 Peter 3

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

After I was born again in the early 80's, I had a strong desire to go to church.  So we started attending a Methodist church. 

 

One day in our Sunday School class our teacher asked us to pair up with another person and we were to share with each other an experience we had had with God. 

 

I paired up with a man in the class and told him about something that had happened (I don’t remember what it was) but some experience I had with God where I heard something from God which helped me.

 

He told me that he had never had anything like that happen to him but wished it would. 

 

For his sake, I hope it happened too. 

 

He heard me speak about Jesus but had not had the experience of Jesus having spoken directly to him.

 

Being given the Holy Spirit makes all the difference … having it is life and not having it is death. 

 

No matter how the Word comes to us … through a particular scripture, a dream, a thought brought to us directly or through another believer, a vision. 

 

Like a bolt of electricity, it is a living Word (Jesus) having the power to communicate directly with us and change us.

Being changed by God ... given by God a new heart and a new spirit:  

When God chooses us and causes us to be born again, we are changed instantly.  And we know this change did not come from ourselves, from our learning or trying to change.  God changed us causing us to be a "new creation."

Ezekiel 36  (God says)

23 And I will sanctify MY great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

(Before we were born again we spoke of God but often "profaned" God, made things of God to be secular.  After we are born again the people who knew us before we were born again recognize that we are now very different.  We've changed.  And God is now sanctified in us before their eyes.)

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

Podcast: The wise of this world devise schemes to circumvent God

 

 

 

1 Corinthians 3:19  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, HE taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

Job 5:13  HE taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.

Isaiah 29:14  Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Ecclesiastes 7:23  All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Man says to himself:  "I will be wise.  I will figure it out."  (I will outdo God.)

God brings a great plague of fire to scorch men in the last days.

Revelation 16:8-9  And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory

So man in his twisted wisdom says:  We have caused the climate to change because of all these gas cars.  We will change to electric cars.  So they make laws that there will be no more gas cars sold after 2035.  And they build electric cars.

Last week, I heard this report on CNN.  Due to the intense heat in California, they are afraid the power grid will fail.  So they asked people to use less electricity and they asked them not to fill their electric cars with electricity.

At the end time, the prophet Amos said it will be like this:

Amos 5

18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

The World in their wisdom says:  We will make a law and stop this problem, never considering that the problem is sent by God as a judgment over the sin of this world.

End time plagues from God:  (Revelation 8, 9, 16)

The angels of God bring the plagues upon this world: Rev. 8:2;6  And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets ... And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

💥  Forest fires:  The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.  (Rev. 8:7)  Is this happening now in our time? USA, Europe, Amazon Rain Forest, Australia

💥 Great mountain burning with fire cast into the sea:  And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. (Rev. 8:8-9)

💥 Plague on rivers and fountains of water:  And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. (Rev. 8:10-11)

💥 Sun, moon, and stars darkened:  And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.  (Rev. 8:12)

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!  (See Revelation 9; 16)

Look at this:

💥  Great heat:  And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give HIM glory. (Rev. 16)

Are we seeing this now?

1980's ... God gave me a dream showing the earth slipping on its axis.  The governments of men and the politicians and the scientists and the religious leaders were meeting to see how they could correct this.  A newscaster on TV was trying to tell the story but he was so afraid that he just stopped speaking and walked off camera.

Isaiah 13:13   God says:  Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of HIS fierce anger.

Matthew 24:29-31  Jesus says:  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And HE shall send HIS angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together HIS elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

💥 Give yourself to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

As sin increases before Jesus returns, this world becomes more violent and irrational, as we wait patiently for Jesus, we can do what Paul told Timothy to do.

1 Timothy 4:13  Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Read the Bible:  Focus on scriptures

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Set your path by the scriptures.

Correct your way, as needed, by scriptures.

Reproof, confirm the way you are going by scriptures.

Pray over all things.  Through prayer we put our faith in God.  Go the way you believe to be godly in the matter at hand.  God will repay you.

Exhortation:  Warn others and give godly advice

Hebrews 3:8-14  Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9 When your fathers tempted ME, proved ME, and saw MY works forty years. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known MY ways. 11 So I sware in MY wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Hebrews 10:25   Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

(exhort:  urge earnestly by advice and warning)

Renew your mind to doctrines shown in Bible:

There is much evil in the end times.  Paul calls these time "perilous".

It is good for us to review doctrines of the Bible on subjects such as divorce and remarriage, fornication, homosexuals and lesbians, the love of money, the end of this heaven and earth.

💥 What the Bible says:  divorce and remarriage

Matthew 5:32  (Jesus says)  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

The man who divorces "a faithful wife" will be the cause of her adultery if she remarries.

The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

I Corinthians 7:10-11  And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

39 The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

11 And HE (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Romans 7:2-3  For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

💥 What the Bible says:  Concerning homosexuals and lesbians

Romans 1

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified HIM not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Mark 10:6  But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

No.  They were not born homosexual or lesbian, but God gave them over to do vile affections because they did not honor HIM properly.

💥 What the Bible says: Concerning money

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

💥  What the Bible says:  Concerning the end of this present heaven and earth

2 Peter 3:10-14  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

There are many other doctrines given to the church in the New Testament Bible.  We must live by these instructions, setting aside the ways of this present world.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Isaiah 66:15-16

15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with HIS chariots like a whirlwind, to render HIS anger with fury, and HIS rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For by fire and by HIS sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

💥 Tempt not the Lord, your God.

As a young Christian, when we don't know any better, we put ourselves into paths of danger, usually because of fleshly vanity.

But as we grow in way of God and know more scripture, if we deliberately go with evil, we tempt God and might even be destroyed in our pursuit of pride.

Jesus says:

Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels.

This verse shows us that our names could be blotted out of the book of life.

Hebrews 10:26  For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

As godly people we do not put ourselves into positions of temptations.

💥  A godly woman who is married would not "visit" with a man who is not her husband or do things like go to lunch of dinner with him.  This could open a door to temptation and end up causing all manner of trouble and God might turn you over to a reprobate mind to be destroyed for all eternity.  Personal vanity is not worth that.

Matthew 4:7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Do not tempt God to cut you loose with the wicked.

We had a pastor who deliberately walked into a temptation and was destroyed by such.

He wanted to be great.  He told us he planned to be greater than Kenneth Copeland in radio and television.  He had a goal and he worked to achieve that goal, 

When he started ministry, we met in an old warehouse and had approximately 200 people in our congregation.  Within a few years, the church building seated 8000 and was fully equipped to produce radio and TV broadcasts at the church. 

Pastor had his own TV show and invited one of the prophets from the church to appear on his show.  Before going on air, he said to this prophet, "Just one thing.  Don't say anything about being a prophet because it's not popular."  She was devastated and after the show, she called me.  She was crying.

I saw a passage in Matthew 23 and knew this was going to happen to this pastor because he "killed a prophet".  I told him because he did this, His house would be left to him desolate.  (Mt. 23)

This was in approximately 1982.

By 1991, ABC Primetime Live did an expose concerning this pastor. At that time his offerings were reportedly as much as $80 million dollars a year.  A big part of his fund raising was based on asking people to send their prayer request to him. (Along with the prayer request they often put money in the envelope.)  

He also offered a hundred-fold-return on offerings given.  After the Prime Time TV expose, offerings fell to 2-million a year, still a lot of money but not nearly as great as 80-million a year.

His empire was set to crumble.  Many terrible things happened.

* He and his wife divorced.  He remarried another woman and she as a lawyer filed suit against him and they divorced.  He then married a third woman.

* One of his powerful church members had given him a great deal of money expecting 100-fold return as this pastor said would happen.  When it failed, the man sued the pastor.  

* His 8,000 seat church building was taken over by the city of Farmers Branch, Texas.  Today there is no evidence that a church ever met on that piece of ground in Texas.

* He moved to Florida and tried to build another church.  He tried to start another big-time TV ministry.

* At last report, he bought a hotel in Culver City, California.  

His desire for greatness ate him alive.

A man at that church taught the singles class.  He had 2 separate lives which he kept hidden from the church.  At church he was viewed as a respectable Bible teacher.  Away from the church he frequented bars, picked up women, indulged in fornication.

I really loved both of these men but they crossed over a line and refused to correct themselves and their demise was no shock but sad to see.

I believe each of these examples are "tempting God".

Either we are godly or ungodly.  And the godly will deal with themselves making corrections for the sake of the scriptures and the Lord and the work of God.

Tempting God is a very evil thing and at some point destruction occurs.

Let us instead be godly.  Conforming ourselves to instruction given in the Bible.  Holding fast to the Word of God.  Laying down our own lives for the gospel. Honoring God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit all the days of our lives as our "reasonable" service.

And to the end of our time on this earth, upholding the Bible and ways of God.  Refusing to let go of scripture.  Loving God and forsaking our selves for the sake of godlessness.

Proverbs 4

14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil.

15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.

16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.

18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Correct yourselves by the word of God.

💥 The men of Samaria said to the woman who met Jesus:

 

John 4:42   Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard HIM ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

She told them she had found Messiah.

But when they heard from Jesus that made all the difference.

Jesus speaks to us today by HIS Spirit and causes us to be born again.  We hear from HIS Spirit directly.

And we are changed immediately, as soon as HE opens our eyes to see!

And God says:

Ezekiel 36

23 And I will sanctify MY great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

The church are the individuals who have been given by God a "new heart" and a "new Spirit", the Holy Spirit to live inside them and guide them.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

 I John 2

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

You cannot make this world righteous by setting up laws.  

In the 1920's they tried to eliminate drunkenness by prohibition.

God's way is to eliminate drunkenness by giving the drunk a new heart and a new spirit.

A woman who was raised Baptist but was not born again became a drunk.  She tried to stop drinking but it was like people who make New Year's resolutions.  She failed many times.  Then one day, something happened.  God revealed HIMSELF to her, giving her a new heart and a new spirit. It happened instantly without her doing anything. She told her husband she was stopping drinking.  She had told him that many times before.  But this time she did because she was born again by God.

Ezekiel 36  God says:

God does this when you are the elect of God, chosen by God, born again by God by the Spirit of God.

Then you belong to God, created by God, a child of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

So if this has never happened to you, turn to God and ask HIM to save you, to give you HIS heart and HIS spirit.

When you know there has been a change in you without your doing anything you can rejoice in God who has done this and not in yourself.  God changes us from the inside, from our heart and spirit.

And it is God that puts us into the church by giving us a new heart and a new spirit.

I John 5:11  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in HIS Son.
