Recently, a couple times I have left my purse in the shopping cart as I've been looking at items in a store. It has startled me when I've realized that several people had passed by and my purse could so easily have been taken, and I was so grateful to God that it wasn't taken.
One day I left my purse in the car after pulling into the garage at home and was in a panic the following day when my purse wasn't in the cabinet where I usually keep it. I was glad to find it safe in the car in the garage, but didn't want to keep going through events like this.
I thought I needed a different kind of purse, perhaps something that would attach to my body, and started talking with God about what to get.
About the same time one of the cats, Chubbs, chewed through a cord on our modem. When I went to the Xfinity store to get a new cord, they replaced the entire modem. I landed up needing to call tech support twice in trying to get everything working as before.
At the end of each call, the tech support person told me that I qualified for a free smartwatch. I was vaguely aware of smartwatches but knew nothing about them and had never thought of getting one, so I quickly told each of the tech support people I wasn't interested.
But I kept being reminded of smartwatches and felt I should see what they can do. After a little research on the internet, I was surprised at how much such a small device can do! Something that especially stood out to me is that I can have a "wallet" on a smartwatch. I wouldn't need to carry my purse into the store! Just tap the smartwatch on the payment device at checkout.
So I looked for, and found, a smartwatch I liked and could easily afford, and purchased it. I'm still working through getting the watch completely setup, but have done several things so far and have enjoyed learning about it.
One evening Joan helped me test calling from the smartwatch to our landline phone, and we both had fun with this. I spoke into the watch and Joan could hear it on the landline phone handset she was holding. She said "It's like the old Dick Tracy comics!"
So interesting to me that I was thinking of a different kind of purse, but was led in a completely different direction which I think will be better for me. And its definitely fun!

(And even Chubb's chewing was used as a way to eventually get me going this direction, which makes me smile. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose. )
