I have 2 dogs (Gus and Gracie) and 3 cats (Chubbs, Molly, and Cat). Cat is an older Siamese cat who wasn't around other animals very much until her owner (Joan Boney) died about 8 months ago. Cat tolerates the dogs and Molly but, understandably, doesn't at all like Chubbs who enjoys chasing Cat.
If Chubbs comes into the room where Cat is and she sees him ... Cat begins hissing and growling ... This prompts Gus to start barking ... Then Chubbs madly looks around for a way to escape and, when found, runs away as quickly as he can, like a streak.
It is somewhat of a very loud circus when this happens.

Fortunately, Chubbs stays upstairs most of the time. At night, Gracie, Gus, and Chubbs stay in my room with the door closed. Cat and Molly have the rest of the house to themselves. This allows me to sleep in peace.
But around 2am this past Tuesday morning, Cat came to my door crying, scratching, and pounding on the door, obviously wanting to come in. She was making so much noise it woke me. I tried ignoring her, but the noise continued. So I decided to let her come into my room to stop the noise.
I put her on my bed, away from Chubbs, but she wouldn't stay there. Instead she went to where Chubbs was, and began hissing and growling ... so Gus began barking ... and the "circus" was in full motion!
Over the next couple hours, I tried putting Chubbs out of my bedroom, but he was able to open the door and came back in, starting the "circus" again. So I put Cat out again and she cried, scratched and pounded on the door.
There was no way to sleep with all this going on, but I didn't know what to do about it.
Finally, I remembered to pray. I said something like "God, YOU are in control of all things, even these animals. Please, somehow, cause them all to settle down so I can sleep."
Right away, Cat quietly laid at the foot of my bed and Chubbs laid down under the desk. Gus also laid down and went right to sleep.
It was remarkable, and wonderful, how quickly that prayer was answered.
I have no idea why it took me so long to remember to pray that morning, but I've asked God to please help me remember to pray as soon as a problem starts.
(Cat has not insisted on coming into my room since Tuesday, and I've been able to sleep as usual.)
