πŸ’₯ Crossing the Red Sea.

Comments by Joan Boney:

When I was born again in August 5, 1975, God began teaching me Bible.  God started me on Old Testament and laid a foundation for faith in God.  If you will read along with me as I print these chapters and talk about that which God showed me, I really believe your faith in God will develop, if lacking. For the Old Testament shows the working of God so clearly.

I Corinthians 10

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur
(complain) ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Exodus 14

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.

(God set the children of Israel in a place where their only escape would be to go through the waters of the Red Sea and that would be their escape and Pharaoh's destruction.)

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.

4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: HE turneth it whithersoever HE will.

 I know God turns leaders hearts as we pray for those in authority, for I have seen it.  This past year I began praying regularly, as God said to do, for those in authority.

I Timothy 2:1-3    I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

As we have seen in these Old Testament examples, God raises up one for destruction and another for deliverance.  (We also saw this in WWII when God raised up Hitler for destruction and Churchill for deliverance.)  I don't know if God is setting up USA for deliverance or destruction.  I suspect for destruction, since integrity of leaders is so questionable today with blatant sexual sins reported and it doesn't seem to make much difference with the masses who vote for these people.  It will be interesting to see which it is!

Regardless we must remember, God is in charge.

(Sometimes I have prayed for God to intervene and stop a person who seems highly questionable and I've seen that person withdraw himself from nomination or be stopped other ways.)

Concerning the churches ...

2 Thessalonians 2

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

(Churches will fall away from some scriptures because those scriptures offend some people.  Removal of scripture or change of doctrine away from scripture opens the door for antichrist to move into those church groups and to exalt himself in the church. This happens before Jesus returns.)

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped;
so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Example of one scripture and doctrine removed from most churches today:

Mt. 5:32  Jesus says:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

I was born again in 1975 and began attending church at that time and I've never heard any pastor at any church speak or teach what Jesus said in Matthew 5:32.

Exodus 14

5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?

6 And he (Pharaoh) made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:

(God is setting Pharaoh up to be destroyed.)

7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.

8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children  ...  9 But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baalzephon. (exactly where God placed them ... why? ... Because God will use the Red Sea to destroy Egyptians while HE saved Israel.)

Hebrews 11:29  By faith they (the children of Israel) passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

 Exodus 14

10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? 12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

(They quickly forget that Pharaoh ordered the male babies of the Hebrews to be killed at birth. And they themselves were calling out to God while in Egypt asking God to deliver them from the hard bondage of Pharaoh.)

13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which HE will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto ME? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

(In this case "forward" will be through the Red Sea.)

16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get ME honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten ME honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them (the Egyptians), but it gave light by night to these (the children of God): so that the one came not near the other all the night.

21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
(This allowed them only one way to go and that way was straight forward through the sea to the other side!)

23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.

26 And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

Here we see God using the Red Sea as an instrument to kill the Egyptians while saving the children of Israel!

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
(causing them to go straight ahead)

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

When we see the working of God in a situation we fear God more than man.  And when we fear God we do what God says regardless of that which man may think to do to us.  Man may not be able to do what he wants to do whereas we know God is fully able to do anything HE chooses to do.

 ***

A Methodist man, to whom I was once engaged, made a statement to me that Pharaoh stood on the banks of the Red Sea and watched the children of Israel escape.  I said that was not what the Bible says.  Howard said that was what Cecile B. DeMille said in The Ten Commandments.  The movie showed Pharaoh standing on the banks of the Red Sea watching the escape of the children of Israel.

I went to get a Bible.  Howard said, "Oh, it doesn't really matter."  (It did to me!)

I turned to this passage of scripture in the Bible and asked Howard to please read this scripture aloud. He did so and then after he finished, I said, "Now what do you think?"

Howard said Pharaoh was killed along with his army in the Red Sea.

Correct!  Bible is truth.

The apostle Paul said:  Prove all things; Hold fast that which is good.  (I Thessalonians 5:21)

Howard said he was a Christian.  But he showed me, by this, his view of not thinking the truth mattered.

We broke up shortly after this.  I'm very glad to have been spared.
