James 5 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. 

2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. 

Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. 

4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth:and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. 

5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. 6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
 

7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts:for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
 

9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. 10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
 

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath:but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
 

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
 

19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Seeking God's glory or your own glory

Jn. 7:18 ... Jesus says ... He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

When a person speaks "of himself", of what he thinks, of his own ideas, of his own wisdom and his own cleverness, that person seeks his own personal glory.

God taught me through the following scripture.

Jn. 5:30... Jesus says ...  I can of mine own self do nothing:as I hear (from God), I judge:and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus always spoke that which HE heard from God, the Father.  That is what we should do also.

I Cor. 2 ... Paul says ...  1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Paul didn't try to lure people in with clever stories.  Paul spoke directly, what he heard from God by the Spirit of God.  God taught me to do that also when I went before people or when I wrote such things as these ministry books.  I would be reminded by Holy Spirit of a scripture or an example and to just write (or speak) that.

Jn. 16:13 ... Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:and he will shew you things to come.

Once I was sharing Jn. 16:13 with a Baptist woman and she asked, "Who did he (the Holy Spirit) hear from?"

I replied, "The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God HIMSELF (I Cor. 2) and speaks that which HE heard from God."  

Paul explains this as follows.

I Cor. 2 ...   6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect:yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew:for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Amos 6 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion,
and trust in the mountain of Samaria,
which are named chief of the nations,
to whom the house of Israel came!


2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see;
and from thence go ye to Hamath the great:
then go down to Gath of the Philistines:
be they better than these kingdoms?
or their border greater than your border?


3 Ye that put far away the evil day,
and cause the seat of violence to come near;
 

4 That lie upon beds of ivory,
and stretch themselves upon their couches,
and eat the lambs out of the flock,
and the calves out of the midst of the stall;
 

5 That chant to the sound of the viol,
and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David;
 

6 That drink wine in bowls,
and anoint themselves with the chief ointments:
but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

7 Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive,
and the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed.


8 The Lord God hath sworn by himself, saith the Lord the God of hosts,
I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces:
therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.


9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
 

10 And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him,
to bring out the bones out of the house,
and shall say unto him that is by the sides of the house,
Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No.
 

Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue:
for we may not make mention of the name of the Lord.


11 For, behold, the Lord commandeth,
and he will smite the great house with breaches,
and the little house with clefts.


12 Shall horses run upon the rock?
will one plow there with oxen?
for ye have turned judgment into gall,
and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:


13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought,
which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?


14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts;
and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.

When I read these judgments against the people of God, I think of us today.  When we do wrong in the sight of God, won't we come into evil on this present earth?  The evil appointed by God against a wrong doer is an opportunity for that wrong doer to see the wrong done and repent and go in the way of God.

Judgment is therefore good, even when hard to see.

And we know by scripture that God loves judgment ... Things must balance in the sight of God for God is just and not evil.

Choosing Ideas From God


A man in our little church group was considering building another storage building to store his stuff. As he thought about doing this, he heard: “Why don’t you just get rid of the stuff.”

This was the Holy Spirit speaking to this man.

This was wisdom from God.

James 3:17 … But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

At the time this happened, this man was in his early 70’s. Within a few years, he had a very serious heart operation and became partially paralyzed. It was certainly the wisdom from God by the Spirit of God to get rid of the stuff when he heard from God to do so.


Overcoming through God … overcoming through the Word given us by the Spirit of God on the issue of this life with which we are currently dealing.


At the time of this writing, I am 78-years-old … Some vandals threw eggs at my house hitting the plaster and badly staining the color. I was planning to have it painted. But the contractor kept postponing the work. And another contractor proposed a plan which I felt uncomfortable with and he even postponed the work by months. While it seemed wise “in my own eyes” to paint the house so when I died the survivors wouldn’t have to deal with the problem, God had another way and gave me the following plan by bringing this into my mind by the Holy Spirit.

Just wait and let survivors get realtor to arrange to have the house painted. This way I will not be troubled by workers. I don’t mind the damage remaining on the plaster. Survivors will not be troubled either because the realtor can deal with the issues. Realtors have painters they work with and it should be no problem for a realtor to arrange for painting.

(This is wisdom from God for me on this specific issue and should not be considered the way for you to go. Each of us must hear from God in our own circumstances and follow what God shows us … not copy each other.)


Jesus commissioned each believer to overcome the issues of this present life.  And we need to overcome the problems by seeking the way God wants us to deal with such. We pray. We turn to God. We consult God. We wait until we are assured God has shown us the way to go.

Jesus promised us that God would give us the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of Truth, The Comforter …

The scripture in John 14:26 and in John 16:13 show us 4 things the Holy Spirit does for the believer in Christ.

The Holy Spirit:

- Teaches us all things

- Reminds us of what Jesus said 

- Guides us into all truth

- Shows us things to come

Jn. 14:26 … But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jn. 16:13 … 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.


I have lived many years believing these things about the Holy Spirit and trusting my life and my way on this earth to God through this word concerning what the Holy Spirit does for the one to whom God reveals HIS Word.

When I was born again, I owned a small business in Dallas, Texas … American Indian Arts.

A man came to me from Houston to talk to me about business. This man’s wife was starting an American Indian arts business in Houston and he insisted in coming to talk to me about business. I tried to get him not to do this, telling him I didn’t know anything about business. But he insisted on coming to talk with me. This man was a graduate of Harvard Business School.

The first thing he wanted to know concerned “my marketing plan.”

I was praying all the time he was asking me these things.

Finally I said to him:

I’m a Christian.

So before I go out to the reservation to buy art objects, I pray, asking God to have the Indians make the objects.

When I get to the reservation, I pray, asking God to show me the objects I should buy.

When I return to Dallas, I pray, asking God to send out the angels to bring in the customers to purchase the items.


Dead silence!

Then the man said, “Well …that’s a type of marketing ..” and he left the store.


Shortly after I was born again, I was transported into heaven in the night as I slept … I was with God, with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit. (I saw no images. It was an experience in the Spirit.) At that time, I was “merged” into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God.

I didn’t tell anyone about this because I thought this happened to everyone who was a Christian.

A few nights after this, the exact thing happened again in the night. I was transported into heaven as I slept. I was with God, with Jesus, with the Holy Spirit. At that time I was “merged” into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God, with God and the Holy Spirit as witnesses.

I was then on fire for Bible and things of God. That is all I cared about. I no longer cared for the business.

I had 3 very competent women working for me at my shop. I didn’t even have to go to the shop, except for doing appraisals of art objects. And I did have to go to reservations to do the buying of the objects to stock the shop. Otherwise, I just stayed home at my apartment and studied the Bible. I went to church gatherings. And I went to a prayer group.

During these early years, a man came to Dallas selling jewelry out of a motel room. The Dallas Morning News asked me to write an article helping guide people in the purchase of authentic art works in this field. I warned consumers about “too good to be true” sales where items were marked down too much, such as 70%. 

A man who was doing this filed law suit against me and several other American Indian Arts dealers in Dallas/Fort Worth. He also filed suit against Better Business Bureau of both Dallas and Fort Worth. He charged that we were conspiring to keep him from doing business in the metroplex.

I had trouble taking this seriously. Then I realized that if I failed to respond to this suit, I could lose the business and judgment could be ruled against me in the courts of law. 

So I hired a lawyer.

Shortly after hiring the lawyer, I saw the following scripture.

Isaiah 54:17

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;

and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

and their righteousness is of ME, saith the Lord.


Based on this scripture, I decided to dismiss my lawyer and go to court without any human legal counsel.

My lawyer was horrified and said, “Joan … you can’t do this. You don’t realize how evil these courts are.”

I replied, “Gordon … I am a Christian. This promise of God to Christians is in the Bible. The promise says no weapon formed against me will prosper. If that is true, this lawsuit will not prosper against me.”

Gordon replied: “We are willing to work with you. It will only take about $10,000 more to try your case.”

With that I was shocked and shouted: “$10,000? … Gordon, STOP, don’t do another thing!”

I dismissed the lawyer from representing me in this lawsuit.

Approximately a week later, Gordon came into my shop. He said the law firm had decided to represent me without any further cost to me.

What is going on here? One week it is going to cost $10,000 more and now they are going to represent me for free?

What does God want me to do is the question … so I prayed, asking God what HE wanted me to do.

After I prayed about this, the Holy Spirit brought the following scriptures to my attention.

Genesis 14 … 21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the Lord, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:

I knew God was telling me to turn down this “free” legal service.

Also with this information my way was set for the remainder of my life. I purposed with Abraham that I wanted my support to come from God, not from worldly people.

I was very frightened after these decisions. I kept scripture given me by the Holy Spirit in front of me day and night to give me strength and to fight fears.

Six days before the trial was scheduled in US courts, the man suing us dropped all charges against everyone.

About two weeks later, Gordon came into my shop. He said the lawyers at the law firm had discussed my case and had decided what I said happened, happened.

I was not trying to be a witness to the lawyers.

All I was trying to do was obey God and do what God wanted me to do.

But when we are trying to do things on this earth God’s way we are a witness without trying to be. It is like a stone being thrown into the water. The stone isn’t trying to make ripples in the water. But ripples occur.


In everything that happens to us in this life, our goal should be to overcome by God’s plan for the situation.

Jesus made the following promises to the 7 churches in the book of Revelation concerning overcoming … Jesus said:

Revelation 2

v. 7 … To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

vv. 10-11 … be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life…

11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

v. 17 … He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

vv. 26-28 … 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers:even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3

v. 5 … He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

vv. 10-13 … 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 11 Behold, I come quickly:hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out:and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God:and I will write upon him my new name.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

vv. 21-22 … 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.


The apostle Paul said:

I Cor. 9 … 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

We have a commission from Jesus to overcome on this present earth and to run that race to the end of our lives on this present earth or until Jesus returns for HIS people and takes HIS people into heaven, to the new Jerusalem, wherein dwelleth righteousness, according to the apostle Peter. II Peter 3:13

James 4 ... Reading through the Bible

1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 

3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. 

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 

5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? 6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
 

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. 

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 

9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
 

11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. 12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
 

13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
 

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

The apostle Paul told us what to do if there is anything in our future that troubles us ...

Phil. 4 ... 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Lay the troublesome situation out before God in prayer.  Pour your heart out to God in prayer.  Tell God how you feel and ask Him to help you.

If you have something you don't know exactly how to face or how to handle, do the following.

James 1:5 ...  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Amos 5 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you,
even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
 

2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise:
she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
 

3 For thus saith the Lord God;
 

The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred,
and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten,
to the house of Israel.
 

4 For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel,
 

Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
 

5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal,
and pass not to Beersheba:
for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity,
and Bethel shall come to nought.
 

6 Seek the Lord, and ye shall live;
lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph,
and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.


7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood,
and leave off righteousness in the earth,
 

8 Seek HIM that maketh the seven stars and Orion,
and turneth the shadow of death into the morning,
and maketh the day dark with night:
that calleth for the waters of the sea,
and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: 

The Lord is his name:
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong,
so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.


10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate,
and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly
.
 

11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor,
and ye take from him burdens of wheat:
ye have built houses of hewn stone,
but ye shall not dwell in them;
ye have planted pleasant vineyards,
but ye shall not drink wine of them.


12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins:
they afflict the just, they take a bribe,
and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
 

13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time;
for it is an evil time.


14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.


15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.


16 Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus;
 

Wailing shall be in all streets;
and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas!
and they shall call the husbandman to mourning,
and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing:
for I will pass through thee, saith the Lord.


18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord!
to what end is it for you?
the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
 

19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him;
or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light?
even very dark, and no brightness in it?

21 I hate, I despise your feast days,
and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
 

22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them:
neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
 

23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs;
for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.


24 But let judgment run down as waters,
and righteousness as a mighty stream.


25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
 

26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images,
the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.

 

27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,
saith the Lord, whose name is The God of hosts.

Preface


Before we were born again, we tried to overcome the various problems of this life by wisdom of man, by figuring things out by our own mind … by that which seemed right to us.

After we are born again and have been given the Spirit of God, we have the power to know what is right in the sight of God, for the spirit of God searches the heart of God to show us the will of God. I Cor. 2

Therefore Jesus says:

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; 
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mt. 6:33


The subject of this book and the examples given in this book are examples of overcoming through God, not through our flesh as we once did.

Isaiah 55 … 8 For MY thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways MY ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are MY ways higher than your ways and MY thoughts than your thoughts.




Overcoming By The Spirit Is Not Automatic


I was baptized in water when I was 15-years-old.
 

I was born again by the Spirit of God when I was 37-years-old. Then I had another spirit in me, to lead me and to guide me. Now I could overcome through God. I was a new creature.

II Cor. 5:17 … 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature : old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Overcoming through God’s Spirit is not automatic. 

We learn to hear God and to pay attention to that small voice speaking in form of a thought, an idea … and then we choose to do that which is in keeping with the instruction given by that “small voice” in us, the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of Truth, The Comforter.


When I was born again in 1975, the Holy Spirit said to me: “Joan … you know all those mistakes you’ve been making all these years? Those weren’t mistakes. Those were sins.”

SINS? … I was very shocked! I thought they were mistakes.

With that word from God, I was born again immediately by the Spirit of God and was given the Holy Spirit to dwell inside me to lead me and guide me.

But even though I was given the Holy Spirit, I still had to learn to hear which spirit was of God for we have thoughts and ideas coming by our own flesh, thoughts from devils, and thoughts and ideas from God, and often all three speak things to our minds that seem “good”.

Thus the apostle John said:

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: I Jn. 4:1


We can pray, asking God to confirm which thought is from the Spirit of God.

We can pray, asking God for wisdom.

James 1:5 … If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

We overcome through God … not through our own ideas.


Our flesh is greatly lifted up in pride when we do something based on our own wisdom.

But when we ask God for HIS wisdom and receive HIS direction, how can we take fleshly pride for the idea was not from ourselves but from God …

Thus we keep our flesh under submission to God by seeking God’s wisdom and by choosing God’s wisdom.

The apostle Paul said …

I Cor. 9 … 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? 

So run, that ye may obtain. 

25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 

26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

James 3 ... Reading through the Bible

1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 

5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 

6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 

7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 

11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
 

13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

End times: many preachers say Jesus is Lord but they are antichrist and will deceive many

Mt. 24 gives us a strong view into the end time and what to expect to see.


1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple:and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
 

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I (Jesus) am Christ; and shall deceive many. 

One sign of the end time... the world would be flooded with preachers saying, "Jesus is the Christ".

But these preachers will deceive many, says Jesus.

Jesus tells us not to be deceived by them.

I Jn. 4 ... 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 

5 They are of the world:therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 

6 We are of God:he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

If you allow yourself to hate, it will be much harder for you to pray

The apostle Paul instructed ...

I Tim. 2 ... 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

If we involve ourselves in this USA presidential election and jump on a bandwagon and hate and fight the other candidate, we have moved back into this world.

Have we forgotten the Bible?

Jn. 18:36 ... Jesus says:   My kingdom is not of this world:if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Col. 3 ...  1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

II Peter 3 ...  10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
 

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  

There will never be "righteousness" on this present earth.  Paul said ... 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. II Tim. 3


We will never see righteousness on this present earth.  It is the new heaven and the new earth wherein dwelleth rightousness.  (II Peter 3)

John told us about the new heaven, the new earth, the new Jerusalem ... in the following scripture:

Revelation 21 ...  1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:for the former things are passed away.
 

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write:for these words are true and faithful.
 

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:which is the second death. 

I Cor. 6 ...  9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you:but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. 

We who belong to God have another way, a way not like the people of this present world.

We are commissioned by God through the Holy Scriptures to live in peace as we await for Jesus.

You cannot live in peace if you allow yourself to depart from these scriptures and join this world, focused on men of this world and their actions.

I Jn. 5 ...  19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.


Our hope is in God and remains in God.  And we must deliberately focus on things of God, on HIS truths.

I think the current US presidential race is interesting and it excites the flesh for it is very different.  But there will be much hatred spread over the coming days.  

If I choose to listen to the hatred, I might be caught up in the hatred.

When it is all over, if the one elected is called to my mind by God, I hope to remember to pray according to I Tim. 2.

Daniel 4:25 ... The most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever HE will.

which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

James 2 ... Reading through the Bible

1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. 2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
 

5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? 

6 But ye have despised the poor. 

Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? 7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
 

8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 

13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
 

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
 

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works:shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:the devils also believe, and tremble. 

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 

22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness:and he was called the Friend of God. 

24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
 

25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
 

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The word of God lost ... then rediscovered

During the time of Josiah, the King, the Word of God had disappeared ... and then was rediscovered after a period of time.  I feel that is a bit like today where so much of the Bible has disappeared from the churches.

II Chronicles 34 ... 1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. 2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.
 

3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father:and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images. 4 And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. 

5 And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.  

(This reminds me of how you have to uproot the things that are corrupt that have been taught by tradition of men by the "priests"... the "ministers" which the people have worshiped.)

6 And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about. 7 And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.

18 years into Josiah's reign as king of Judah, he had gathered wages to pay the workers who were restoring the house of God.  In the ruins they found something.  They found a book of the Word of God.  It had apparently lost for many generations.  

They took this book of the Word of God and read it to the king.  He was horrified for they had been doing things against that which was written in the book of the Word of God.

They drifted very far away from the Word of God during those years when the book was missing.

That is so much like today.  Along the way, churches omitted many scriptures and went another way.  The people in those church groups would be very shocked to read the things I have written from the Bible concerning: divorce/remarriage ... fornication ... adultery ... homosexual/lesbians ... hair length ... 

These scriptures have been missing so long from many congregations they will find it shocking to really see what the Bible says.  Though each person can have his own Bible and read for himself, he often just depends upon the minister at his church to tell him that which is in the Bible.

Certainly both the minister and the congregation is guilty for not looking into the scriptures in the New Testament.

Some of the more shocking things are:

- It is a shame for women to have short hair.  It is a shame for men to have long hair.  I Cor. 11

- If the man marries a divorced woman, commits adultery.  Mt. 5:32

- If the woman leaves her husband, the commandment of the Lord is for her to remain unmarried or return to her husband.  I Cor. 7:10 

- If a man divorces "a faithful wife" he will be the cause of her adultery if she remarries.  Mt. 5:32

- Both homosexuals and lesbians have been turned over to vile affections, men with men and women with other women.  Romans 1

- You are carnal to call yourselves "Baptist" or "Church of Christ" or by another other denomination.  I Cor. 3

- What the Holy Spirit does in the believer.  (Many churches omit the references to the Holy Spirit.) Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13

- We will not have these current physical bodies when we leave this earth and meet Jesus in the air.  I Cor. 15

-  This present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God.  II Peter 3

- The dead people do not watch over the living.  The dead people are asleep.  I Thess. 4

- Not all will die.  Some will still be alive when Jesus returns for the church.  I Thess. 4

Several years ago, I heard the following from God:  "There will be no Bibles but I will teach you."

At the time I heard this word, it didn't seem possible to me that there would be no Bibles.  But now I can see how the church removed Bible and how strange the Bible sounds today to people who have faithfully attended apostate churches where scripture have been omitted or twisted.

My neighbor, Gordon, really liked hearing my radio broadcasts.  He, a Methodist, made a copy of one of the broadcasts and carried the recording to his pastor.  Pastor listened and said, "She really seems to know a lot about the Bible."  Later Gordon went to this pastor and asked him a question about Bible.  This pastor said:  "I really don't know anything about the Bible." 

A young man came to me recognizing me as a godly woman.  He spoke one scripture after another.  At first I was really excited about him.  But then he began adding to scripture.  I corrected him many times.  He wanted to remain with me but I removed myself from this young man.  He even begged me not to remove him.  He said, "I can be corrected." The problem was he wouldn't correct himself and showed no shame at all concerning the way he mis-handled scripture.  This is the way antichrist handles scripture.  

The word of God means something to me.  I am very careful and prayerful with scripture.  I would be very ashamed and horrified if I mishandled scripture.  But pastors I've gone to really don't show any concern at all when I've taken scripture to them and they have wrongly presented scripture to the congregations.  I've never seen  one of these pastors repent nor be ashamed over mishandling of scripture.  This is the antichrist in the churches.  There are many antichrists today in churches and many apostate churches that have fallen away from scripture.

This is very important for Paul says Jesus will not return unless the falling away from scripture happens in the church ... II Thess. 2

It has happened today and it is happening today.

Do you doubt this?  When was the last time you heard the following preached to the congregation?

Mt. 5:32 ... Jesus said ... whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. 

I was born again in 1975 and have attended many churches since that time and I have never heard this scripture preached at any church.

Where are the churches moving today with homosexuals/lesbians, fornicators, adulterers, divorce/remarriage?  And what is it they are omitting from scripture right now?  Does sin sit in the congregation today in form of non-married couples who are living together (having sex) and being accepted in the congregation? 

The Methodist church group even ordains homosexuals as ministers.

The Catholic pope announced he sees nothing against homosexuals.  When I heard him say this on a newscast, I screamed at TV ... "What about Bible?" ... Romans 1 

Back to king Josiah ... 

II Chronicles 34 ...  They found the book of the Word of The Lord in the ruins while repairing the house of God that had been destroyed ...  

14 And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the Lord given by Moses. 15 And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. 16 And Shaphan carried the book to the king,

... 18 Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. 20 And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying, 

21 Go, enquire of the Lord for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found:for great is the wrath of the Lord that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the Lord, to do after all that is written in this book.

... 22 And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect.
 


(In Old Testament only a few persons had the Holy Spirit.  They often went to the prophet to obtain the Word of Lord on matter at hand.  NT all who are of God have been given Holy Spirit and they go directly to God in prayer, not to a prophet, to find out what God has to say.  Prophets are still used by God in NT to do work of ministry, Eph. 4, but God speaks directly to people in NT church today.)

23 And she answered them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me, 24 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:

25 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched. 

26 And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard; 27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord. 

28 Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again. 

Will the apostate church today be saved from the wrath of God?  

The wrath of God will come upon today's apostate church and the apostate congregations that sit and worship the apostate preachers in their churches.  Unless an individual humbles himself and acknowledges before all the scriptures that have been omitted, he will be "damned" with the preachers and the others who reject the Bible.

Paul says:  II Thess. 2 ...  10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
