πŸ’₯ Podcast: The New Covenant: God puts HIS laws directly into our hearts and minds

(This podcast was previously published on April 26, 2021)

After we are born again by the Spirit of God, God puts HIS laws for the New Testament church directly into our hearts and minds.

Hebrews 8:10-11 God says: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest.

Often God will put HIS own desire into our hearts so that we desire to do that thing even before the situation arises.

But if we are about to go in a way that would not be of God, HE can cause our heart to change to go even in a way opposite from that which we thought we wanted to go.

God just puts in our heart another desire and leads us that new way.

God shields us from those things that would not be beneficial for us, and keeps us from that which would hurt us and destroy us.  And HE leads us into a more abundant life than we could have had otherwise.

God even puts HIS own laws into our hearts and minds.

Hebrews 10:16   God says:  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put MY laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

I John 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of HIM abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in HIM.

(Abide in that which God has told you.)

28 And now, little children, abide in HIM; that, when HE shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before HIM at HIS coming.

29 If ye know that HE is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of HIM.

*****

John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

I Corinthians 2

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

***

If we are of God, we are righteous, because of that which God has shown us, and the Spirit of God dwells in us to remind us of all things that we have heard from God.

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

We pray continually for the will of God to be done in our lives on this present earth.

πŸ’₯ Acts 17 (Reading through the Bible)

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus (The Word).

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

***

10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

***

14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying,
May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?  20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, HIM declare I unto you.

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed any thing, seeing He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

(God determines the exact times that each of us live on this earth and the exact places we live.)

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us:

28 For in HIM we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

31 Because  HE hath appointed a day, in the which HE will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom HE hath ordained; whereof HE hath given assurance unto all men, in that HE hath raised Him from the dead.

32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

33 So Paul departed from among them.

34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

πŸ’₯ Helped by God and led by God

Pam Padgett, member of the body of Christ

During the past few years grass has not grown well on the north side of my property. Where grass had previously grown nicely, about half of it was now dirt, which either blew around when it was dry, or turned to mud when it rained. I decided to have the grass in that area removed and replaced with rock and some shrubs.

I began looking for a landscape company a few months ago, wanting to talk with them and make a selection on which company to work with so the project could be done in the spring. The first company I called sent a landscape designer to develop a proposal. I enjoyed talking and working with her. She developed a design I like, and I signed a contract with this company.

I was told they would like to start my project the following week, the last week of February, if that was OK with me. Although this was much sooner than I had planned, my calendar was totally empty that week, and I agreed to this.

But that night I woke with concerns going through my mind, such as ...

-What about the sprinkler system? (It would need to be modified) Due to freezing temperatures we wait until May to startup sprinkler systems here.
-What about getting the internet line located? The line runs in the area that would be excavated. Internet is something I use throughout each day and evening.
-Was more material needed to make a gradual slope off the driveway?
-Could plantings be delayed until mid-May?

As things like this were swirling around in my mind, at first I was in a panic, thinking I had made a terrible decision in agreeing to start the project the following week. I called out to God for help, asking "What should I do?" Should I call the company as soon as they opened the following morning and delay the project until spring? To my mind, this seemed like what I should do, but how did God want me to deal with this?

As I prayed, reviewing all my concerns before God, I kept having the thought to call the company and ask about each of these things.

So the following morning I called the woman I have been working with. She explained how they deal with each of these things, and what she described sounded fine, very reasonable. This conversation completely dealt with all of my concerns, and I was in peace again, totally calm.

I marveled in what a fast, easy, and simple way this was.

Another concern I had was that our Home Owner's Association (HOA) requires submission of any landscape changes for them to review and approve. Although I submitted the landscape design right after I had agreed to the work starting the following week, a couple days went by with no word. I asked God if I should try to do something to get the work approved by the HOA?  A strong assurance came over me that this would be taken care of before work began.  I came to believe this assurance was from God, so I did nothing.  The approval came through Thursday night before work began the following week.

Work started on Tuesday of this past week.
All of the excavation and putting rock and mulch in place, as well as new gates, was completed by Friday evening. (I especially liked the the new gates which are very sturdy and look great!) In May, they plan to come back to plant new shrubs and flowers and run emitters to each plant. The men who did the work were pleasant and obviously very competent. And when they saw something that needed to be done, even if not specified in the design or contract, they took care of it.

I am very pleased with all that was done, and am especially glad that this part of the project is now complete, rather than waiting to start it in a few months. Although I wasn't doing any of the work, it was tiring to have the disruption of major work like this. Having only the plantings to be done in May sounds wonderful (and fun!) to me.

I am very grateful to God for leading me in the way to go, and the peace and gratitude this way brought to me.

One other thing ... early last month I was led to have a "backup" person for publishing the blog.  I had been easily able to prepare the blog postings each day, so being led to have a backup person was a little surprising.  But I asked one of our church members, Sandra Chupik,  if she would do this and she took on that role.  Her previous experience allowed her to quickly learn what to do.  Since then, she has been preparing the "Scriptures" posting each day.

While the landscape project was going on, it was so helpful knowing that Sandra was taking care of the daily Scripture postings and could take care of the daily podcast posting, if needed.
As it turned out, she didn't need to do anything with the podcasts, but knowing she was able to do this calmed me.

Thinking of this reminds me that God knows exactly what we need now and in the future, and HE provides our needs, sometimes before we even know there is a need.

Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: Don't compromise: Concerning Homosexuals and Lesbians: What Bible says

(This podcast was previously published on April 22, 2021)

Concerning compromise, never do we who are of God compromise scripture.

Romans 1:26-28 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

In the Bible, we have the example of the men of Sodom who went after strange flesh.

Genesis 13:13  But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.

In every "quarter" of the city were homosexuals.

God sent 2 angels to Sodom to deliver Lot (Abraham's nephew) before God destroyed Sodom.

Angels look like natural men.  Angels do not have wings.

So when these homosexuals in Sodom realized the 2 men had come into Lot's home, they came demanding that Lot turn these 2 men over to them so they could have sex with these 2 men who were really 2 angels sent by God to destroy Sodom.

Genesis 19:4-7  But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  (Have sex with them.)

6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,  And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

In this Podcast, I will present the scriptures showing God's view of Sodomites and the way the nation of Israel dealt with Sodomites.

God's view of the subject is all that matters.

What does God think?

The examples in the Bible show us the thinking of God on the various issues of this present life.

*****

On April 12, 2021, on CNN International (Internet), there was a story about a pastor in the Southern Baptist church group, who announced that homosexuals and lesbians and other sexual deviates were welcome at his church.

Before Jesus returns the churches will fall away from scriptures and antichrist moves into the church groups.

II Thessalonians 2:3-4   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

In 1982, God said to me:  "The falling away are not people leaving the churches.  The falling away are the churches leaving the scriptures."

In the end times, churches will set up other doctrines, contrary to scripture, and go by these doctrines of man in their churches, casting aside scriptures.

This is antichrist.

The apostle John tells us there are "many antichrists", not just one antichrist.

I John 2:18   Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

John explains that those people who were antichrist came into their church group and then left them when they did not like the pure doctrine of Christ.

Many of these antichrist people set up their own churches, denominations, where they could control the teaching and omit the doctrines of Christ as they preferred.

In speaking with the elders of the church at Ephesus, the apostle Paul said:

Acts 20:29-30   For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Paul said to Timothy:

II Timothy 4:2-4  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

This is what we are seeing today in many churches.

These are the antichrists of the end times in the churches.

Concerning the Sodomites of the Old Testament:

I Kings 14:24   And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

I Kings 15:12   And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

I Kings 22:46  And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.

II Kings 23:7  And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove.

Deuteronomy 23:17  There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

Isaiah 3:9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

Jeremiah 23:14  I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto ME as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Jeremiahs 50:40  As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the LORD; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

***

As homosexuals and lesbians and other sins of this world increase, we know the coming of Jesus and the great tribulation and the destruction of this present heaven and earth draws closer.

II Peter 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

There will never be righteousness on this present earth.  It will just get worse and worse.

II Timothy 3:13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

But God will remove the righteous from this earth and take the righteous to that new heaven and new earth which is created by God for HIS people who follow HIM.

Revelation 21

1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:  for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And HE that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.

πŸ’₯ Acts 16 (Reading through the Bible)

Then came he (Paul) to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

(They presented and established the doctrines of Christ which were to be followed in the NT church.)

And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

***

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.

And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.

***

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

***

11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

***

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

(What she said was true but it was by the wrong spirit and it grieved Paul.)

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

19 And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul (apostle/teacher) and Silas (prophet), and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, 20 And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city, 21 And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their (Paul & Silas') clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (The Word), and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

***

35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.

36 And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.

37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

38 And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

39 And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.

40 And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

πŸ’₯ Podcast: Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

(This podcast was previously published on April 18, 2021)

When we are watching television, often we will hear someone say something that we know to be opposite to the Word of God as stated by God in the Holy Bible.

It is very important for us to renew our mind to the Bible.

Recently I heard a very famous man say, "All die.  No one escapes death."

Because of the Bible, I know that statement is not true.

Immediately after I heard this man say this, I took my Bible and made a screen print of the page of scripture where Paul says, "We shall not all sleep (die),"

I Corinthians 15:51-52   Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

When Jesus returns, first the dead in Christ will be raised, then those who are still alive will be changed from this earthly physical body, and be raised from off this present earth and taken into the air to meet Jesus and those who are raised from the dead.

I Thessalonians 4:13-17 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

*****

Romans 12:1-2   I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We who believe in God, must be diligent to cling to truth of the Bible.

Therefore when we hear someone on TV speak that which is contrary to Bible, it is important for us to renew our mind to the truth from the Bible.  For that which is false could go down into our heart and at some point deceive us.

Some will think this unnecessary.

But I know it is critical to do the scriptures and not just hear the scriptures.

And I know it is important to collect scriptures which are brought before us in situations such as this and put those scriptures into some form of collected file and meditate upon those scriptures as we live daily on this present earth, keeping ourselves by the Word of God.

Joshua 1:8  God says:   This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

I use my Kindle tablet photo section and make screen prints of such scriptures which I usually read daily.

The man who said the lie of the world was Ernest Hemingway.

A three part series of his life appeared on PBS and I recorded it.  I watched some of Episode 1, but felt it best to stop watching when he divorced his first wife and married a second wife, and later a third wife, all of which is adultery according to the Bible.

Matthew 5:32  Jesus said:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

I only watched part of Episode 1, but as they praised Hemingway, I found myself saying, "But Hemingway committed suicide."

Several times I said this.

I deleted Episode 2, but I watched some of Episode 3, wanting to hear their report of Hemingway suicide.  Toward the end of his life, he became crazy, thinking men in restaurants were government agents who were out to get him.  At the Mayo clinic they were giving him electric shock treatments but he continued in his imagined fears.  He was a very heavy drinker, a drunk.

I just kept thinking of how you can have all that fame and glory of men, and destroy yourself and lose everything.

Matthew 16:26 Jesus says: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

It is important for us to guard our own hearts with all diligence, uprooting the saying of this world and wisdom of this world, and clinging to the truth of the Word of God in the Bible.

Also I was reminded of the following:

God says:  I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.  (Joshua 1:5 & Hebrews 13:5)

And God gives us a "sound mind", when we follow HIM.

II Timothy 1:7   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

πŸ’₯ Acts 15 (Reading through the BIble)

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

(This is one of the main things the apostles do in the church ... set church doctrine ... establish church doctrine for the New Testament church.  )

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

***

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

***

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them (the Gentiles) witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as He did unto us;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

***

13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

14 Simeon (Peter) hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for His name.

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, 16 After this I (The Word) will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I (The Word) will build again the ruins thereof, and I (The Word) will set it up:  17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom My name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18 Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world.

(The apostle James then presents the ruling that will govern the doctrine in this matter for the NT church.)

19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

(The apostle James had the decision which would set the doctrine in the New Testament church for them to follow concerning circumcising the Gentiles ... the decision was not to circumcise the believing Gentiles.)

20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

***

22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, "Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law:"  to whom we gave no such commandment:

25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (The Word).

27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

***

32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas (a prophet to the NT church) to abide there still.

35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

***

36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;  40 And Paul chose Silas (a prophet), and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

(Confirming the churches in the doctrine of Christ, THE Word of God.)

Comments by Joan Boney:

By prophecy, God told me:  I have ordained you and called you as an apostle.

I was very shocked.  I had no idea what this meant.  I asked Bible teacher at our church what the apostles do in NT church.  He didn't know.

Then I asked God about apostles and what they do today in the church today.

God took me to this section of scripture, Acts 15, to show me how HE anoints apostles concerning the doctrine of Christ for the NT church and gives rulings concerning doctrine to the NT apostles for the church.

***

NT apostles consider the issues, consider the Bible, are guided by the Holy Spirit to the ruling on the doctrines.  And when fully persuaded, state the doctrine to the congregation.

***

For exampleCan women remarry after divorce?

(What do the scriptures say?)

* Matthew 5:32    But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

(If the divorced woman remarries she will commit adultery.)

* I Corinthians 7:10-11   And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

(If wife does leave husband, she must remain unmarried or return to husband.)

Romans 7:2-3   For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.  So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Matthew 16:11-12   And HE (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

* Mark 10:6-9   Jesus says:  from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

***

The churches today explain away these scriptures to permit women to divorce and remarry.

The explaining away of scripture allows antichrist (the opposite to Christ, the Word) to come inside the church and to rule, eliminating the real doctrine of Christ which is stated in the Holy Bible.

What do these scriptures say to the woman?

- if your husband divorces you and you remarry, you commit adultery.
- do not leave your husband:  but if you do leave your husband you must remain unmarried or return to your husband.
- if you divorce your husband and marry another man, you commit adultery

NT apostles will redirect individuals to what the scriptures tell us by the Holy Spirit to restore our thinking to ways set by God HIMSELF.
