My uncle, who was probably born again while hearing me speak, said to me, "I wish you would come to Church of Christ.  You could do so much good in the Church of Christ."

I think I just stared at him without responding.

His daughter, my 96-year-old cousin, Jeanne (Church of Christ) tried in 2019 to present her doctrine to me and tried to get me to follow her.

To do this, I would have to denounce many scriptures and the work done by God to make me ready for the calling of God upon my life which I had been doing since I was born again in 1975.

Jeanne's mother, my aunt, was a very special person to me.

Once I was visiting with Aunt Ardath when I heard from the Holy Spirit, "Tell her about being taken into heaven ..."

(I certainly didn't want to do that! She was Church of Christ.)

But I did.

Shortly after I was born again in 1975, I was sleeping in the night and I was "transported" into heaven.  I was with God, and Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  I didn't see any images.  It was a spiritual experience.  At that time, I was merged into the body of Jesus, made one with the Word of God, God and the Holy Spirit witnessing.  

A few nights later, the exact same thing happened a second time.

As I spoke to my aunt, I noticed a "dreamy" look come upon her face and she replied, "Something like that happened to me once ... and it was all golden."

(Then I knew why she was so different from the others.)

I suspect she never told this story to anyone else in her life but to me.

Unless they have changed greatly, the Church of Christ group do not receive supernatural experiences with favor.

When they quoted Acts 2:38, they left the end of that verse out of their writing and speaking.

Acts 2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Before she died, my aunt told me she knew some things were wrong at Church of Christ but she remained there anyway.

I had a dream about her many years ago.

In the dream, there was a row of baby bassinettes.   I was walking down the row, looking at the babies.  The babies were horribly deformed!  At the end of the row stood my aunt.  She was fully grown but on her face were large spots and blemishes. 

Sadly I felt these were the false doctrines that came from following her church group and from staying in a church group where she knew things were wrong.

My cousin Jeanne told me they now know some things are wrong at Church of Christ, but they don't want to hurt the faith of the old people at church so they don't speak of their wrong doctrine. 

Incredible!

Apparently their faith is in their church and their church doctrines, as is the case in numerous churches around the world.

The apostle Paul said to one of the church groups in his day ...

Acts 20:29-30    Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which HE hath purchased with HIS own blood.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Paul also told us that before the return of Jesus there would be a "falling away".

II Thessalonians 2:3-4    Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;   Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

As far back as 1980, God showed me this "falling away" that would happen are church people falling away from scripture.

It seemed impossible to me that this would happen in the church ... but it did happen and we have witnessed it many times.

Entire churches changed the doctrines from those of the Bible in order to approve people in their congregations.

The only restraint we have against antichrist are the scriptures.

When even a portion of scripture is removed, we allow antichrist to move into the church.

Antichrist is not one man but is a spirit. 

The apostle John told us this in the following scripture:

I John 2:18   Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Antichrist was coming through the church ... not through governments of men as people have long thought.

Antichrist sits ... "in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."  

Antichrist rules over the scriptures ... thus showing himself to be god over all.

All humans who allow antichrist to rule in them will be destroyed by God.

II Thessalonians 2:7-12    For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of HIS mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of HIS coming:

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

When I lived in Lubbock, Texas, I attended a dinner at a museum group.  I was seated next to a man who was wearing the largest cross I have ever seen.  

This man began talking.  He said, "I am former pastor at Indiana Street Baptist Church.  We have such a problem there.  We have added onto the church building three times and still we do not have enough room to seat all the people."

I said, 

"If you begin teaching that which Jesus said in Matthew 5:32, The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery, about 1/2 of the people would leave you and you would no longer have a problem seating the people."

With that, I got up and left the dinner, even before they served any of the food.  

There was no way I was going to continue there with this man seated next to me.

Neither do I choose to continue with relatives who want to argue about the doctrines of Christ.

We cannot live in peace in the midst of such varying spirits.  

When we have the Holy Spirit, we will be one spirit.   But we cannot be one Spirit unless we are the same Spirit.

II Timothy 2:22    follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

After I was born again in 1975, my dad said to my mother, "Joan has gone off the deep end in this religion thing."

My mother said, "No.  She's alright."

(Such a surprise for my dad always supported me while my mother fought against me.  Now the roles reversed.)

Before dying, they were both born again!

I lived 450 miles away from my parents.

While visiting, I opened my mother's cabinet and noticed some coffee mugs that I had given to my mother several years before I was born again.  These mugs had Zodiac signs on the sides.  My mother used to love horoscopes and would buy the monthly books and read to me my horoscope when I was a child.

My mother sat watching me.

I got a plastic bag and began putting those mugs into the bag.  My mother began screaming:  "No ... STOP ... what are you doing? ... I want to keep those ... You gave those to me."

I said nothing and paid no attention at all to her objections.

I took the mugs to the garbage bin at back of the lot.  I broke the mugs and then dropped the bag into the garbage and returned to the house.

I took up the Bible and began reading aloud to my mother.

Deuteronomy 18:9-13    When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.  Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

My mother sat silent for a few seconds, and then she said, "Well ... then I guess we'd better not do that anymore."

I believe my mother was born again at that time when she agreed with Bible.

Later my uncle wrote me and said, "Your mother has changed ... She has really changed."

(That is what being born again is ... change ... instant change by God as HE gives you HIS Spirit.)

In the late 70's my dad had a stroke.  He had always been so strong and self-reliant.  Now he couldn't use his hands or even walk much.  He had to learn all over to do such things which he had always found to be so easy.

He was such a gentle, good natured man that people often said what a good Christian he would be ... if only he would go to church.  

I was recording sets of exhortations for the church at that time, before Internet.

I gave a set of tapes to my dad.  My mother said he would sit and listen over and over to those tapes after his stroke.

He wanted me to come and go to church with him.  Never before had he mentioned going to church.

I had a dream that I baptized my dad.

My mother called me.  My dad had another stroke.  She was pretty frantic and was asking me if I could come.  I flew to the nearest airport, 100 miles from where she lived.  My dad's 1/2 brother picked me up.  I was sure my dad would still be alive because of that dream I had where I baptized him.  But when we reached Clovis, he was dead.

Later I realized I did baptize him with the Word I had spoken on those cassette tapes.

I have found that when they are around me, they either become saved or leave.

murmur:  complain about 

repine:  to look back with intense longing for what one once had...
             to be fretfully discontented...
             to mope, to languish, to feel upset about, to be despondent over ... to brood, lament, grieve, mourn, sorrow

Scriptures pertaining to this hymn:

Romans 8:11    But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, HE that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. 

God, by HIS Spirit, brings thoughts to our minds to comfort us, to show us what to do, to stabilize us in times of trial.  Sometimes God will give us a dream to help us.  And God uses angels from time to time to deliver messages to us.  

John 14:26    But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13   Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
