💥 The Jews looked for the coming Messiah but failed to recognize Jesus when HE came. Today church people look for the great tribulation but will fail to recognize the plagues when they arrive.

I was thinking of that which we are seeing today on this earth:  the heat, fires, pestilence such as Coronavirus, violence ... in reference to the great tribulation.

It is like the Jews looking for the Messiah, but many didn't recognize Jesus as being the Messiah, when HE walked on this earth.  But God revealed Jesus as Messiah to some.

I've been reminded of the prophetess Anna who was at the temple in Jerusalem when Jesus was brought as a baby.  She recognized that Jesus was The One they had been waiting for and she spoke this to others who also looked for HIM.

Luke 2

36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of HIM to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

She knew this baby was the Messiah because God revealed this to her.

In this same account, we're also told of a man named Simeon who waited for the Messiah and had even been told that he wouldn't die until he saw the Messiah.  The Holy Spirit revealed this to Simeon.

Luke 2

22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought HIM (The baby Jesus) to Jerusalem, to present HIM to the Lord;

23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28 Then took he HIM up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to THY word:

30 For mine eyes have seen THY salvation,

31 Which Thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of THY  people Israel.

33 And Joseph and HIS mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of HIM.

But many of the Jews did not recognize that Jesus was the Messiah they waited for.

Many church people who have been taught and believe that The Great Tribulation will come, do not see what is going on today.

Today we have great heat upon much of this world and great fires which burn the trees and grass.

Plague of the Great Tribulation:

Revelation 16

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

Recently the news caption concerning the fires and heat even used the word "scorched" to describe that which was happening to humans.

But the people of the world attribute the heat to "climate change".  And most church people are also going along with what the world has to say about this great heat!

But some of us understand and remember the scriptures when we see the news.
