We have seen newsreels showing the Nazi followers at the Hitler rally's in WWII.
The look of strong delusion is often a look of vain unity, emptiness of individual thought as they follow their idol.
Delusion is described in the Bible as follows:
2 Thessalonians 2
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

(This described antichrist in the churches ... they will fall away from some verses of scripture and set up doctrine opposite to that of Christ in the Bible.)
In 1982, while reading the above scripture, God said to me: "The falling away are not people leaving the churches. The falling away are the churches falling away from scripture and setting up other doctrines." (This we are seeing now in churches everywhere as they eliminate verses that offend people and make people feel good about sins.)

I see these mass delusional looks of crowds at church when they sing hymns. It looks like they have taken a drug. But I know they sing but there is no real change from the waving of hands in the air. They enter into a fleshly emotion and consider themselves to be "religious" while they fail to do specific Bible verses. They enter into a feeling which lacks substance.

I see this in church groups. I see this also in pep rallies. I saw it in the worshippers of Adolph Hitler in the documentaries of Hitler's gatherings during WWII. And I see this on the mass of faces today at political events in both democratic and republican parties.
Biblical truths from the Holy Spirit of God are all that matters.
Beware of strong delusions whereby you end up worshipping a lie for that is what this often is.
What is truth? The truth is in Jesus, the word from God.
