Gaining the power and faith to do the Word
God says:
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee?
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Is it God who told us to do that thing?
God speaks to us by the Holy Bible, bringing verses of scripture to our mind, as needed, to show us what to do.
And God speaks to us by HIS Holy Spirit WHO dwells in us after we are born again.
The Holy Spirit who is in us does the following work for us:
* He teaches us all things: John 14:26
* He reminds us of all that Jesus, the Word, has said: John 14:26
* He guide us into all truth: John 16:13
* He shows us things to come: John 16:13
When God speaks to us, we meditate on that word.
And when we consider what God has said to us, the power of that Word of
God becomes greater in us and then we can do that word by faith.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The apostle Peter tells us what we are to do as we wait for the return of Jesus:
2 Peter 3

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein
shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.
