When things are devastatingly bad

Monday of this week, things were so bad I just went to bed and spent the afternoon in bed reading various scriptures which I had underlined in the Bible.  There was a special focus on the various scriptures in Psalms where David was crying out to God to be delivered.

One situation I am dealing with is secular and the other situation has to do with a problem revealed by a person in our little church group. 

In the secular situation, I am dealing with some business people who have shown themselves to be very vindictive.  I was very frightened.  I have evidence that one of the people in this business would stop at nothing to harm me personally.  Various ways he could try to hurt me came to my mind.  I took each of these thoughts to God asking Him for help.  When I prayed, I was reminded of another situation where a young man took vindictive action against me.  He turned me into the IRS (USA tax investigation) and they set up an investigation against me and two IRS agents appeared at my door one day unannounced.  One agent was holding a clip board and when I went to the door he looked at the clip board and said the name of this young man who was offended by me.  The agent didn't mean to reveal the name of this man.  It was an accident.  But the fact that this man's name was on the papers held by the IRS man told me this is the man who filed the report against me and asked for them to investigate me.

I told the agents immediately that they were welcome to take with them all cancelled checks and all financial books that I keep for my personal accounts and for the ministry accounts.  They were very shocked that I would give everything to them.  One agent said, "Did you hear that?  We can take with us all cancelled checks." 

I told the agents I was happy to have them investigate me.  If I was doing anything wrong it would have been accidental and through a failure to understand the rules and if they found I was doing anything wrong I would change it.

The agents took all the materials.  A few weeks later, they returned everything and I asked them if they found any thing wrong and they said they did not.

One great financial benefit to me occurred as a result of their investigation.  I am an ordained minister and recognized as such by the United States Federal Government.  When I began in the ministry, we had no money coming into the ministry so I declined to be in the medicare program and the social security program which would have cost the ministry money that we couldn't afford at that time.  I was allowed to  decline being in these programs because of minister status.  But it meant I would never be able to have medical insurance from government nor would I ever be able to receive money from social security in later life.  I signed a paper with my IRS agent at the time declaring this option.

When I was investigated the agent mentioned this.  He said I could buy back into the government program if I wanted to do so.  I told him I had signed papers declining at the time we began the ministry in the late 70's.  He said there was no record of my signing any papers and since there was no record, I had the option of buying back into the system if I wanted to do so.  I had plenty of money to do this in the mid-90's so I chose to do this.  As a result I can now be in the medicare program which pays for about 80 percent of my hospital and doctor visits.  And I receive monthly social security benefits of $777 which I am able to live on at this time.

Joseph said:  Gen. 50:20 ... But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good,


What I believe God is showing me is this:  This young man may try to hurt me but if he does, God will turn it to good and this young man will not be able to harm me.  I am reminded even as I am writing this of the men who were thrown into the oven in the Book of Daniel and how their clothes were not even singed. 

Daniel 3 ... Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. 2Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. 3Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. 4Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,   5That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:  6And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 7Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. 


Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews. 9They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever. 10Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: 11And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 12There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.  13Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. 14Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?  15Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? 16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.



Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.  20And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.  21Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.   22Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.   23And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. 24Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.  25He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.  26Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.  27And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

I believe God is showing the same thing to me.  In this secular matter, I will not be hurt in any way by this vindictive young man.  So there is no need for me to fear nor continue to be disturbed.

In the second matter I've been dealing with at the same time as the first ...

We can almost be destroyed by the sins of others.  I did say "almost".  A woman who has been in church groups all her life told me she had an abortion.  I was devastated to hear this and so shocked since she had sat where there was Bible teaching from the time she was a very young child.  I wouldn't have been as affected had she been a person of the world. I wish she had not told me this.  She is a person who drops bombs with her mouth and before you know it she has spoken something that is devastating.  Perhaps this turns to good in that I am warned about her.  I thought she was better but this came forth from her this week so she is still dangerous... perhaps a warning to me.

God will restore me.  I feel certain of that.

There is an instruction to each of us.  Speak things that edify the body of Christ when we speak.  The telling of past sins must have a point of edification if you speak such.  You must be very careful concerning sharing of past sins with other people.  This can do great harm to others.


Word mixed with faith

Heb. 4:2 ... For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 

When we act on the word, we mix the word with faith.

Several week ago, I read the following scripture:

Phil. 4:8 ... Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  


One day, I decided to do the above.  I set about to actually think on things that were true, honest, just, pure, lovely, things of good report, things that had virtue and praise.

The doing of the instruction brings faith into the action.

James spoke of doing the word.

James 1 ... But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Prov. 3:5-6...Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Proverbs 3:5-6 ... Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.

In times when our faith is weak, it can help a lot to keep Prov. 3:5-6 before us day and night to build faith in God... and then when your faith is strong, pray.

Prov. 3:5-6 is instruction and it is also a promise of God ... When we pray, "HE shall direct" our paths.

When we stand at the judgment seat of Christ, as we will all do (II Cor. 5:10), how will we plead our case for ourselves?

The only thing I feel secure in is that which God has done in my life, not what I have done.

It would be a terrible thing to see the bad things vs. the good things and see the justice scale, one side loaded with the bad and the other with the good.  

Recently a woman told me she didn't remarry (considering this to be to her credit).  She also told me she had an abortion.

If the scale had not remarrying on one end and having abortion on the other end, which would weigh heaviest in judgment.

None of us want to be judged this way.  We would end up losing.

But to focus on examples of the Holy Spirit in our lives would win out for us.  For only God can give the Holy Spirit.

At the judgment seat of Christ, if I am to speak on behalf of myself I would want to say, "God chose me and gave me HIS Spirit ...and I simply followed that which God showed me."  

I would want to focus on God and not on my works. 

If I said, "I wrote more than 1000 exhortations for the church on our blog,"  I feel I would fail at the judgment seat of Christ.

But if I said, "God gave me a dream showing me to start a blog on Internet for purpose of exhorting the church with the gift of exhortation given me by God,"  I would feel secure for everything was authored by God and not by my thinking.  I was just following instructions from God. Thereby in doing such I would be exalting God and not exalting myself.  We exalt God each time we hear from HIM and do according to the instruction given us by God.

Jesus said many will come telling of all their works and be turned away at the judgment seat of Christ ...

Mt. 7 ...  Jesus said ... Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 

What will work is to exalt what God has done in our lives ... God gave me HIS Spirit ... God sealed me with HIS Spirit ... By God's Spirit I am shown what to do ... God chose me and set me into the body of Christ and gave me gifts of the Holy Spirit to use in the church.

Therefore we must be sure that we are trusting in God rather than trusting in what we have done.  We must be sure we are trusting in God rather than trusting in what others have done.  (can't trust in a preacher or parent or religious relative)  Your faith must be in God and your relationship must be with God.  In everything we set about to please God and to do things HIS way.  It all begins with:  Do we have the Spirit of God in us.  For without the Spirit of God we cannot know the will of God and we cannot please God.

Romans 8 ... Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.





Judgment of wicked so twisted

Mt. 27 ... When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: 2And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. 3Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 5And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. 6And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. 7And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. 8Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. 9Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;  10And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.


I thought of how twisted the thinking was of the chief priests and elders.  They had tried to entrap Jesus.  They knew they were going to kill Jesus.  They even tried to set up false witnesses against Jesus.  And yet they reasoned that it was not lawful for them to put Judas' money back into treasury for it was the price of blood (which they had arranged themselves) ...

But even in this, good came for it fulfilled the word spoken by Jeremiah the prophet.

Mt. 27 ... Pilate knew Jesus had been delivered by the people because of envy ... Pilate's wife called Jesus, "that just man" (v. 19) ... Yet Pilate "scourged" Jesus and delivered Jesus to be crucified (v. 27)

What they did to Jesus was a farce ... but Jesus submitted to the farce because it was the will of God and it fulfilled scripture.  That was the justice, the fulfilling of scripture.  Jesus did all things to fulfill scripture.

When things are unjust ... Heb. 12 ... Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  3For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.


Things are often twisted when our flesh is involved and when we interpret by the flesh and thinking of flesh ... A woman was telling me that before she married her second husband she and this prospective husband went to a pastor to see if it was permitted for her to marry (she was divorced).  As she was telling me this story, I heard:  "But wasn't she committing fornication at that time with this man?"  I asked her this:  At the time you went to this pastor to see if you could remarry, were you committing fornication with this man?  She replied: "Yes."

She wasn't born again when she did the above ... but even after being born again (at the time she told me the story) she was unhappy with the pastor for telling them they were approved in the sight of God to marry.  Basically the word I heard set her free because nothing really mattered concerning what that pastor told her at that time because they were already committing fornication.

James 1:5...Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

James 1:5 ... If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Wisdom comes from God.  When we lack wisdom and pray in faith, God is faithful to give us the wisdom we need in order to deal with the matter at hand.

That wisdom "shall be given" us.  This is a promise of God to the church.

We might panic at first but just pray and wait until you are sure you know what to do.

James 3 ... Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.  16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.  17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Wicked fail to abhor evil

Psa. 36 ... The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. 2For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.  3The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good. 4He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. 


... no fear of God ... he doesn't consider God in the matter ... he doesn't look for that which God desires ... he is wise in his own eyes and operates according to his own thoughts ... Therefore he approves sex outside of marriage.  He sees no harm in fornication.  Sexual intercourse to him is simply something to be done as often as possible because it "feels good". 

But God says ... Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.  I Cor. 6

The wicked sets himself in a way that is not good ... The wicked fails to abhor evil in the sight of God.  The law of God is not in his heart and in his mind.

But we who are of God have been given the law of God.  God puts his law in our heart and in our mind that we can serve God and belong to God.

Heb. 8:10 ... I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 


In the world today, there is a push to approve homosexuals.  Inwardly some people hate homosexual acts but for fear of losing their jobs they pretend to go along with homosexuals.

But the examples of God are as follows:  Heb. 11 ... By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.


Concerning homosexuals and lesbians ... Romans 1 ... For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Phil. 4:13 ...Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Philippians 4:13 ... I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Christ is THE WORD ... The word comes through scripture, through dreams, through the Holy Spirit speaking by thoughts directly to our minds, through other humans who may carry the word of God to us ... It doesn't matter how the word comes, it is the word which strengthens me and enables me to go forward according to the will of God.

My mother lived to be 97 years old.  Up until the last month she lived with me.  The last month of her life I put her into an old folks home.  It seemed to be a good facility, yet I grieved that I had done this.  I often wondered why I did this.  I had kept her in the house with me for 18 1/2 years so why would I have done this?  How could I have done this, I often wondered.

Recently I was reminded of two words:  "Fire department" ... Then I remembered before I moved my mother to the old folks home, she had gotten down and I couldn't get her up and I called the fire department twice in one day.  I believe they told me I couldn't keep calling them for this help.  I had no other human to help me.  I think this is the reason I put her in the old folks home.

Being reminded of "fire department" helped me.  I believe this was the Holy Spirit reminding me of this so I could be helped.

My mother broke her hip when she was about 94 years old.  She continued living with me after that.  But I had a dream that the next time she fell she would die.  After that dream I really watched her to see that she not fall.  She continued to live with me for the next 3 years.  Then she fell in the night.  I heard her beating on the wall to signal me from her bedroom.  I knew that meant the end of her life.  And I accepted that.  There is a time to live and a time to die.  Eccl. 3  

In all afflictions of this life we are comforted by the Word of God and we are strengthened by the word of God.

And when we meditate in the word of God we are enabled to do the word of God.

Psa. 1 ... Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Josh. 1:8 ... This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Rewards in heaven

II Jn. v. 8 ... Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 

Paul speaks of those who build on works that are not authored by God and how their works will be burned in the fire and they will be saved but will suffer loss.

I Cor. 3 ... According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  14
If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

And Paul exhorts us to run this race in a proper way so we can "obtain".  He likens our race to the natural athlete who runs a race trying to win.

I Cor. 9 ... Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things.  Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

And Jesus speaks of the servant who quits because his Lord is delayed ...

Mt. 24 ... Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  


And Paul tells us in Phil. 2, to work out our own salvation in fear and trembling.

Running the race takes diligence and continuation in the work.  We have to work to keep our hearts.  Things come that would draw us off and discourage us and that is when we must fight for faith even harder.

Romans 8:37-39...Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Romans 8: 37-39 ... Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul was beaten with many stripes and went through many sufferings.  Yet Paul knew he was "more than conqueror" through the Word, through Jesus, through God.

When God revealed to Ananias (Acts 9), God said this concerning Paul ... Go thy way: for he (Paul) is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

And Paul said: Phil. 3 ... Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: 5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; 6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law,  blameless. 7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 



Paul knew his assignment would cause suffering but Paul considered the sufferings to be much less than the glory that would be revealed through us ... Romans 8:18 ... For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Like Jesus, Paul endured the sufferings so the glory of God could be revealed through him.  And Paul counted all personal loss as "dung" that he might win Christ and be found in HIM, not having his own righteous but the righteousness through Christ.

Mt. 7 ... Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them,  I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.


At the judgment seat of Christ, how will you plead your case?

Jesus said in that day many would come to him saying they had prophesied in His name ... they had cast out devils ... they had done many wonderful works ... and Jesus told these people to depart from HIM ...

So how do we plead our case?

Recently a woman in our church group saw that she had done wrong and she was grieving on the wrong she had done and I told her instead of this she should be rejoicing that the Holy Spirit showed her the wrong she had done for this meant she had been given the Holy Spirit.

We plead our case not by what we have done on this earth but rather by what God has done in us.  God revealed Himself to me.  God gave me His Spirit.  By His Spirit He put me on radio.  By His Spirit He put me on internet to exhort the church.  He gave me gift of exhortation for the church.

See ... it is all in what HE did, not in what I did.
