Podcast: Open visions from God (Part 1)

(Comments by Joan Boney)

The first time God gave me an open vision (word of knowledge):  I was at a local prayer group.  About 10-15 women were praying over something.  We were standing in a circle and had our heads bowed and eyes closed as we prayed.  God said to me, "Look up."  (The women continued praying.)

I looked up and saw something as if it were outlined on the wall in front of me.  It was part of a human body.

I said to God, "I know that is part of a human body but I don't know which part."

I heard, "Stomach."

"Oh, yes, It's a Stomach."  I remembered the old Pepto-Bismol commercials on TV.

After the women finished praying, I said:

"Does someone have a stomach problem?"

One woman began jumping up and down and shouted:  "I do!  I do!"

I suppose the women prayed for her.

I was so excited thinking of what God had shown me that I don't remember what happened to her.

Open vision:  (Word of knowledge)

Spiritual gifts for the church:

1 Corinthians 12

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

(God shows the spiritual gifts to different individuals in various ways.)

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE will. (As God wills.)

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

I Corinthians 12:27-28

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church(to care for the church), first apostles, secondarily prophetsthirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governmentsdiversities of tongues.

Romans 12

4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry (serving), let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Peter 4:10-11

10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of Godif any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

After the experience at the prayer group where God showed me a stomach outlined on the wall, God often gave me open visions (word of knowledge) when I attended the Bible class at the church I was attending and sometimes as I sat alone at my home.  He would usually show me these visions on a solid wall.

πŸ’₯ Pam Padgett was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022.  (We were in shock!)

One day as I was sitting in my TV room, I saw something in the corner of the wall.  It was a very quick view and seemed to be a "ball-type" mass of something wadded up in the corner of the ceiling of the room.   Suddenly it shrank with a "swooshing" sound,  and it was gone.

Pam began chemotherapy treatments in 2022.  They were planning to remove her bladder after the chemo.

Pam began praying asking God if there was any other way this treatment could be done without removing the bladder.

The chemo pharmacist gave Pam some writings explaining what to expect from chemotherapy treatments.  There were over 20 pages of information.  After reading these, Pam decided to read an additional page the pharmacist had included which was about bladder cancer treatment in general.  On this page there was the following statement which stood out to Pam for it fitted what she had been asking God.

"An approach using chemotherapy with radiation therapy may provide the same benefits as bladder removal."

Pam began asking God if this was the way to go!

A member of our little church group had been trained as a nurse and when she read this statement she said, "Now I have hope!"

Pam asked God how she could deal with her doctors and the medical team who had planned to do surgery to remove bladder, how could she switch to radiation/chemo.

God gave Pam a dream showing her in the medical office speaking to a doctor while a "man" was sitting with Pam.  She felt this was a man from God put there with her to assist her in speaking to the medical doctors.

5 of the doctors and their assistants felt the radiation was not "ideal" for Pam's case and the best thing to do was chemo followed by surgical remover of the bladder!  But they said they would switch the plan from removal of bladder to radiation/chemo treatments if that is what Pam wanted.

(Pam's report)

Pam said: Then I met with the chemo doctor.  He warned that the chemo given with radiation therapy for bladder cancer is harder on the body than the initial chemo I had been given and that I might need a blood transfusion and possibly need to be hospitalized.

The chemo doctor then asked if I had peace about making this change in treatments.  I told him I had prayed and asked God if there was any way I could be spared bladder removal.  After that, I saw the information provided by the pharmacist about chemo with radiation, and I felt this was an answer to my prayer.  He asked if I am a Christian and I told him I am.  He said he is as well.  He then said since I had peace about making this change, he would setup this kind of chemo and coordinate it with the radiation oncologist, and that he would prescribe things to help me get through this chemo as easily as possible.

After meeting with the various medical people, we stopped the first kind of chemo and the doctors started setting everything up for chemo with radiation.

The chemotherapy with radiation therapy began in mid-December, 2022 and was completed in January, 2023.

Interestingly, the chemo with radiation turned out to be easier for me, not harder as the chemo doctor expected.  I had no serious problems, mostly just fatigue.  But even the fatigue wasn't as much as with the first chemo plan.  And radiation was no problem at all.

So after the 3rd chemo treatment a switch was made to a plan for chemo/radiation!

After the chemo with radiation treatments were completed, two procedures were scheduled to be done in April, 2023, to see if there were any signs of the cancer.

Everything seemed to be going fine.  But then not long after these procedures were scheduled, fearful thoughts suddenly came to me, such as "What if the tests show more cancer?"

I was very shaken and turned to God for help, and was given the concept of resting in having done what I had been led to do by God, resting in HIM, in HIS word to me in this matter.

For God will work everything according to HIS purpose for me.  I just need to go in the way I believe HE is leading me.

Hebrews 4:3 ... For we which have believed do enter into rest,

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

I was also given a dream in which I was at the urologist's office to have a scope procedure.  At another point in the dream there were 2 bags with what looked like yard waste in them.  The bags were being examined by scientists or doctors who were looking for disease.  No disease was found!

When I woke from this dream I prayed about what this dream might mean to me and especially what the 2 bags represented.  The next morning, I was reminded of the 2 upcoming procedures and felt God was showing me that no disease would be found during the procedures in April.

The first procedure was done Friday, April 14, 2023, by the urologist looking inside my bladder using a scope.

The urologist started out by saying that his understanding is that I had gone to see the specialist/surgeon in Denver and it sounded like I wasn't "keen" on having my bladder removed. I laughed and told him that was correct.

He went on to explain that with the scope he would be checking to see if the chemo had done what was needed, but that if he found a problem it could probably be taken care of with a more minor surgery than was needed last September. (I felt he was trying to prepare me for him finding a problem.)

But as he looked at my bladder, he said "This looks great!"  He said this at least 3 times as he checked various things in the bladder. He did find a small red area, but said nothing needs to be done about that at this time. He'll just monitor it.

Overall, he seemed surprised as he said "This looks great!"

The second procedure, a CT scan, is scheduled for next Wednesday, April 19.

I keep being reminded of the dream I had in which the 2 bags of waste were being examined by doctors or scientists. They were looking for disease but found none.

The cancer was gone.
