* In the days of the apostle Paul, there were many perverted doctrines in the churches.

Titus 1   Paul says:

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

In churches today, we find preachers speaking things the people want to hear.  That way they can get larger crowds to come to their churches and they can also get more money having more people in their congregations.

I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

And we also find many in congregations who will not put up with sound doctrines.

Mark 7:7   Jesus says:  Howbeit in vain do they worship ME, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

II Timothy 4

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
