Matthew 24
3 And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of THY coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

I find this to be very discouraging and disappointing to think they are Christians and find they are not.
Jesus said, "Let no man deceive you in this."
It is important not to be deceived by them for it pulls us down spiritually and as bad as end time things get, it will be much harder for us if we fall into this trap.
Let proof come concerning a person who says "Jesus is Lord" ... Do they really follow the Word of God (living by the scriptures) or do they just join a church and attend church?
Do they talk about hearing from God in situations and tell what God told them? And even then, does it make since or are they making up their own God and living by a false image?
Do they try the spirit to see if the one who spoke to their minds is really God. Thoughts come from devils and even from a person's own lust. And often I've seen people think God spoke to them when I questioned if it was God and usually I've found they "do not try the spirit" to see if it is God.
These people can do great harm to us, to the real elect of God.
So Jesus warns us: "Let no man deceive you by saying he is a Christian."
I find they are all around me. The man across the street said he is a Christian.
Neighbors on both sides of Pam's house say they are Christians. But they said things and did things that cause me to question the Spirit they live by.
One man deceived me when I should not have been deceived. The first time I met him and heard him talk, I told him, "You're not going to make it." He knew almost no scripture. He began reading blog but then quickly left reading blog.
I've been deceived by some who even give contributions to this ministry, and read the blog but fail to do the scriptures. I've come to believe they can't follow God as I do because they are not really the elect of God. They just have gone to church all their lives and tried to be religious without having the Spirit.
Jude
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers (imitators) in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

I deceive myself by loving them and wanting them to be Christians and wanting their "fellowship" as Christians.
I've had them almost sweep me away with despondency over them. God restored me even in my foolishness but I went through far more than I had to because of my own desire for them to be Christian.

Pam Padgett is a true child, born again by God. She makes excellent decisions by praying, hearing from God and letting God establish her way. She has the same faith I have, the same spirit!
Look for this in those who say they are Christians.
Paul says: Prove all things.
Beware: Jesus says: "You will know them by their fruits."
Do their words hurt you? Are they really thorns and briars? When they quote scripture is is just a platitude? or is there real power of God?
Don't be deceive by your own desire, wanting them to be a Christian so you can have a Christian friend.
It is very dangerous.

2 Timothy 3
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
