Comments by Joan Boney:
By these examples of the Old Testament, God taught me of HIS great power and how nothing was more powerful than HIM. And by these examples of Abraham and others, God taught me what it really means to have faith in God.
Our teacher at Word of Faith church when I attended that group said: "We talk about faith but Joan Boney lives faith."
From the time God caused me to be born again, and I opened a Bible to read, I was looking for verses which told me what to do ... and I did those verses, making them a part of my life, causing the Word to live inside me.
For example:
Philippians 2
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
I began to set aside my own reputation and good name, and began to focus on what God wanted me to do.
In 1982, God showed me sin in various big-time ministries and when I couldn't get a message to those ministers, God convinced me to speak about those sins they were committing on my own radio broadcasts ... then I was assured those ministers would get the message. For their own followers would hear that message as I spoke it on my broadcast and they would tell that minister what I was saying about him.
God used the following scripture to convince me to do this:
2 Timothy 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
In this scripture, I saw Paul speak to the church about Alexander the coppersmith, telling what evil he had done. That gave me courage to speak, naming the name of the big-time minister who was sinning in the sight of God and even telling what the sin was that he was doing at that time.

The Holy Spirit reminds us of such examples to show us things God wants us to do.
When we do what the Holy Spirit shows us to do often we end up greatly persecuted by the churches.

Exodus 16
1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
* murmured: complained
3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: 7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that HE heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
8 And Moses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against HIM: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.
9 And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for HE hath heard your murmurings.
10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.
13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
16 This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.
17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
π₯ 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
π₯ 27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

Just like today in religious groups. Some believe. Others do not believe the Word spoken.

28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep MY commandments and MY laws?
The great tribulation bringing the 14 plagues of God upon this world to judge the evil done by man, we read:
Revelation 16:8-9 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give HIM glory.

That which is missing is failing to repent when they are corrected. Often they resent the correction rather than repent and correct their ways by the information given them.
My mother blamed God when her mother died when she was a teenager and she and her sisters were left with small children which they had to care for.
Many years later, after I was born again, my mother said to me: "I'd like to have a faith like you have."
Later when I was visiting my mother in the town where she lived, I opened the kitchen cabinet and noticed some Zodiac mugs which I had given my mother before I was born again. I was horrified at seeing these! and at remembering I had given these to my mother.
I took a garbage bag and began to put the mugs into the bag. (My mother was watching as I did this.)
When my mother realized what I was doing, she cried out: "Stop ... wait ... don't do that ... I want to keep those ... you gave those to me."
I paid no attention at all and continued filling the garbage bag with the Zodiac mugs. When the bag was filled, I went to the dumpster at the back of my mother's trailer and broke the mugs and dropped the bag into the dumpster.
I went back into the house. My mother was just sitting there. I got my Bible and opened it to Deuteronomy 18 and began reading these verses aloud to my mother.
9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
When finished, I closed the Bible and took it back to my room. When I returned my mother said: "Well ... I guess we'd better not do that any more."
When she repented and turned to God's thinking, she was born again.
My uncle wrote to me: "Your mother's changed ... she's really changed."
Yes, I knew. She was born again by God's word after she repented and turned to the right way of God in the Bible.
When people hear what they are doing is a sin in the sight of God, often they repent, turn from that sin, and are born again.
When there is no repentance there is no salvation.
When we are ashamed of what we have done and see it is against God's Word, it is not unusual to see people born again by God.

Exodus 16
29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore HE giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of HIS place on the seventh day.
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.
33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.
34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
Once God said to me: "If no food is available, I could just put Manna in your back yard if needed."
36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.
(It is not hard at all for God to provide for us what we need.)
