James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Glad to have this reminder to pray to God for wisdom often and to keep track in a notebook.
Today there were several things pressing on my mind to do.
Today there were several things pressing on my mind to do.
I had in mind to go post office first, then to Walmart, then to bank, then dollar store.
After praying and continuing to pray, my schedule was changed to go to dollar store first.
After praying and continuing to pray, my schedule was changed to go to dollar store first.
After I finished, I asked God what to do next.
I was to go to the bank to get a mistake on my statement corrected. The bank had me listed as being in the military. I noticed it on previous statements but forgot about it until I was sent an email from the bank thanking me for my military service. (I was never in the military and wanted to get this error corrected.)
At the bank, I had to wait a while to get the help I needed. but it worked out fine. I could relax and not be in a hurry. The man who helped me was extremely helpful and pleasant.

Joan, you mentioned in an email getting older you do well if you don't do too much. This is true for me too, The schedule I had in mind was too much for me. Being at peace is important.

Report from Cathy Varner: Member of body of Christ
A few weeks ago I had bought an over-the-counter acid reducing medicine which I take daily. I wouldn’t need it right away so stashed it away. Then when I wanted to find it, I forgot where I had put it. I looked for it not too long ago and couldn’t find it. Then again today I was looking for it. I looked in the places I thought more likely, such as the bathroom, but didn’t find it.
Then I prayed, asking God to help me find it.
Very shortly after praying, I thought about a shelf in my bedroom where I put various items, mostly oddball things I will hardly be using.
I looked there and there was my medicine.

Earlier this week I was trying to prepare the book cover for the new ministry book. Joan had chosen the background, and I just needed to put the "road" and text on that background.
Although I've done this before, I couldn't remember how to put the "road" on the background.
Although I've done this before, I couldn't remember how to put the "road" on the background.
I looked to see if I might have notes about how to do this, but couldn't find anything.
Then I tried searching on the internet, but that didn't work either.
Then I remembered to pray and ask God to help me and give me wisdom in what to do.
After praying, a thought came to search on the internet using different words than I had thought to use before.
Right away a short article came up which listed just a few steps to do ... exactly what I needed.
This was such a simple way and it worked great ... the "road" was on the cover in just a couple minutes! (this was much quicker and the results clearer than before.)
This reminded me, again, of how important it is to ask God for wisdom before trying to do something, even if I've done it before.

God’s help on troubling thought...
I can’t remember ever sharing this but I have been reminded of it a number of times recently.
I can’t remember ever sharing this but I have been reminded of it a number of times recently.
A few years ago I was getting a new iPad. I wouldn’t be needing my other one and wanted to offer it to someone who could use it.
I could only think of two people who might be interested. One person was Cathy Varner. I knew she had one but it was old enough that she said it wasn’t receiving new software updates anymore.

After praying about what to do, I realized it was in my heart to offer it to Cathy.
When I contacted her she told me she could use it and would like to have it so I was happy to send it to her.
But after I did this, the thought kept coming to me that I should have offered it to my son instead. That I had done the wrong thing.
But when I asked God about this I was immediately reminded of the following scripture which made this troublesome thought go away ...
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. (Gal. 6:10)

It has been 6 months since John (husband) died.
With God's help I have been able to realize that I am coming into a new way of life.
I get up every morning and tell God that I am thankful for the day and will rejoice in it according to Psalm 118:24.
It's a wonderful way for me to begin my day.
I realize I have no responsibilities except to God and myself.
At first, after John died, I really didn't know what to do with all my time.
But if I attend to the blog and the Bible first, I seem to get direction for whatever needs to be done for the rest of the day.
Sometimes I don't do anything.
Other times just going to the store is enough and then I need to rest.
I just rest in what God has for me now.
God says HE will never leave me nor forsake me. Hebrews 13:5 & Joshua 1:5 ... and I trust in Him.
I feel myself getting stronger in His wisdom and I find that I am conversing less with humans and more with God, and I am grateful for the peaceful and quiet life that is developing for me at this late stage of my life.
Once many years ago John and I attended an Assembly of God church.
One Sunday we were sitting and listening to the pastor and he asked the congregation, "How do you feel about Jesus second coming?"
There was a little old lady called Ma Parker sitting there and she yelled out as loud as she could, "Anxious!".
I am certainly looking forward to HIS return.
In the meantime, I will try to occupy as God leads and guides me each day.

Today I needed a piece of shelf paper. Prayed about where to find some. I went right to the drawer where it was.
Later I found out I owed money for a drape I had purchased in November.
Later I found out I owed money for a drape I had purchased in November.
I prayed about what number to call to find out why it was so late and I had never gotten a bill.
Had to search awhile for # ... then prayed about being able to get through after pressing the right numbers to get a human.
It is nice to remember to pray about every little thing to make our day easier.

Today I went to the UPS store to return something.
The box was not heavy, but it was large and hard to carry.
I prayed for wisdom on getting it from my car to inside the store.
I drove into parking lot planning on parking in the farthest row like I usually do.
It is a busy parking lot and about a year ago I had a car accident there when I backed up at the same time a pickup truck backed up and we hit each other.
But this time I had the thought to go ahead and park in front of the UPS door.
There was a spot right at the door and I saw a man standing near the door, so I prayed that God would cause him (or someone) to hold the door for me. But by the time I got the box out of the car, the man’s back was to the door. As I approached the door, he turned around and opened the door for me.
When I got in my car to leave, the parking lot was relatively empty and there were no cars to worry about as I backed out of the parking space. I am so grateful to God for HIS help today.
