If we walk in the light, as HE is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

IF we walk in the light ... we have fellowship one with another ...
There can be no fellowship if one person in the church group walks in darkness and the other person in the church group walks in light.
If both walk in light there is fellowship between them.
Also if we walk in the light the blood of Jesus cleanses us of all sin.
If we walk in the ways of this world that is not the case for we have left the light. If we walk in the ways of our own flesh, we have left the light.
God showed it to me this way: If you go to car wash, your car is on a track. As long as the car stays on the track, the car is washed.
So it is with us.
As long as we continue to walk in the light of the word, we are continually cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
