Reports: Asking God for Wisdom #10

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

This past week, I went to Walmart to pick up my on-line grocery order.

I purchased several bottles of cheap wine to use in cooking.

As I was driving to Walmart I had the thought to tell the person who brought my order to car that I do not drink but I ordered wine for cooking.

But I rejected this thought for I thought why do I want to try to justify myself at the pick up area to the person bringing my groceries to car.

A young man who looked to be around 20-years-old brought groceries to car.

He asked my date of birth and I replied:  November 23, 1937 ... 4 years before WWII.

That really somehow got his attention.

After he loaded groceries into the trunk, he came back to my passenger window and began talking to me.  I've never had anyone do that before.

He asked me if I was afraid during WWII.

I replied that I was only 4-years-old when WWII started but I thought my mother was afraid, because for a short time we lived in Oakland, California.  My dad was too old for WWII army, but being a skilled mechanic he worked for a short time at one of the defense plants on West Coast.  I suspected my mother was afraid to live there because there was great fear of an attack from Japan on West coast. So my dad quit and we returned to Broadview, NM in the middle of USA.

He told me about his grandmother who is 83-years-old.

He seemed to want to talk with me.

At one point, I told him I am never depressed nor do I feel alone because I am a Christian and when a problem comes, I just turn to God in prayer and pray and God helps me.

He sort of lit up when he heard that.

When he walked away, he said to me:  "Have a blessed day."

I knew he was at some church.

Later I was thinking how I bought several bottles of wine and how I told him I didn't drink but was using wine for cooking.

I thought of how it came to my mind to tell him this.

And I remember this scripture:

I Thessalonians 5:22    Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Several weeks ago I saw my neighbor, Kim, while I was walking one of my dogs. Kim's elderly mother lives with her and I asked Kim how her mom was doing. Kim told me her mom had been diagnosed with advanced skin cancer and tests had been run to see if they could operate on her.

Kim's mom is in her mid-80's and has a heart condition as well as dementia.

I prayed that her mom not be put through any more medically than necessary.

Early last week one of Kim's dogs got loose and Kim asked if I would help catch the dog. It didn't take long to get the dog into my house where my dogs were.

While here Kim told that her mom was going to have minor surgery (I think out-patient)
the following day to remove just an area of the cancer that kept getting terribly infected.

Due to her age and overall condition, the decision had been made to not do anything else ... no extensive surgery nor chemo-therapy.

I went to visit Kim and her mom a few days later and was surprised that her mom answered the door. She had a bandage behind her ear, but was getting around as before the surgery, seemed happy and not in any pain.

As I was walking home I remembered having prayed that Kim's mom not have to go through any more than necessary, and thanked God that no more medical procedures are planned for her.

This morning I was going to change the time on one of my phones. I always have trouble setting this phone. So I prayed before I even started and asked God that I get it right the first try.

It worked the first time and I was glad for the help in something so small but helpful to me.

I appreciate your sharing this, Sandy.  It was used to help me today.

I was in my car, noticed that its clock needed to be changed, and groaned.

It is not hard to change the clock, but is hard for me to remember how to change it.  Two buttons need to be used and its hard for me to remember which buttons, and which to hold first.  The car's manual tells exactly how to do this, but in the past I have forgotten about it, or didn't think I needed it, until after  I had tried unsuccessfully to change the clock for several minutes and become frustrated.

But today I remembered what you shared and prayed before doing anything.

After praying, I had the thought to get the manual out to begin with, and just follow the instructions.

In less than a minute, the clock was changed.

A few nights ago I checked the blog after the next day's messages published and saw that the last two postings did not show up on the first screen. A person would need to click on "Older Posts" to see the rest of the messages. Some people may not know to do this.

Also, the "Instruction in Righteousness" posting wasn't showing up at all.

I prayed asking God for help.

Some ideas came to mind and I tried them. The "Instruction in Righteousness" posting started displaying, but nothing brought all the messages onto the first page.

I began talking with God telling HIM that I didn't know what else to try, except maybe clearing the formatting from the last message that showed up on the first page, and then put the formatting back. Several months ago this had fixed another problem.

This would take quite a while to do and I was very tired that night. Afraid that being so tired I might accidentally delete something in the message, and not sure it would even fix the problem, I asked God if I should try to do this.

I was reminded of something very subtle I had seen, but not thought much about, when trying one of the ideas earlier. When I stopped and considered what I had seen, it confirmed that removing and replacing the formatting from that one message would very likely fix the problem.

Also I found myself feeling unexpectedly refreshed.

I believed I was being led to do this.

Once formatting had been removed then replaced in that one message, all the messages for the day began showing up on the first page of the blog.

Friday I had a very strong desire to buy another dog bed for my computer room so that I wouldn’t have to move the one bed from room to room, but I stopped and prayed for wisdom. I had prayed about this before, but had heard nothing, so I prayed again, asking God for help again.

(JB ... When I pray and hear nothing ... I usually take that to mean, do nothing.)

About an hour later I remembered a thick mat I had stored away. When folded, it will make a soft, comfortable spot for the pup.

Yesterday and today I prayed for wisdom on the best way to block off and arrange a small hallway to the utility room for the puppy when I have to leave the house. I had arranged it the only way I could figure out, but didn’t like way it was setup. Today God showed me a better way…using a lightweight, freestanding gate that is easy to move and fold up and lean against the wall when not in use. This is so much better than using the tension type gate that I had planned to use because stepping over it causes my back to hurt. After I tried the freestanding gate, I saw a way to rearrange the bed and food and water bowls which I like much better.

These two answers to prayer, given to me by God (and so quickly) are helping to strengthen my faith.

Last evening, I spoke with my aunt in Texas. I sent her the new book Preparing For The Return Of Jesus. Amazon notified me that delivery was set for Sunday. I left message, a day or so, concerning this. This call was to see if she received the book. She answered and said this was a good time to call. The book came in and she thanked me. (She is very busy taking care of her husband who has Alzheimer's and needs close attention.)

She told me that she kept the writings (I sent from the blog) and still reads them.

I told her that we are learning about what happens (according to Bible) when we who belong to God die, the apostasy that Paul spoke of in churches today, and how God helps us as we pray and follow Him.

I reminded her of a dream she had about her mother. In the dream her mother gave her a piece of paper on which was The 23rd Psalm. We talked about how The Lord is our shepherd as we follow Him.

Before calling my aunt, I started reading Joan's writing on "Visit to Betty in Hospital."  (Reports:  Asking Wisdom from God #9)

I found myself rushing through it but knew I needed to take time and think about what Joan had written.

I made the call first.

After the conversation with my aunt, I took time to read that writing.

It came mind to sent a copy to aunt.

It explains, with scripture references, what happens when a child of God dies. It is also an excellent example of following God each step of the way and shows how God provided her needs. A good example of Psalm 23.

I am grateful to God for being able to speak with this aunt. God's timing is perfect.
