As Christians, we do not follow the OT law, but we do follow the commandments of the Lord given us in the New Testament

Some churches want to eliminate all the commandments of the Lord calling such the "law" and saying Jesus removed these and we no longer have to observe these "laws".

Jesus paid for our salvation, thus eliminating many of the laws given in Leviticus, and removing the need to sacrifice animals whereby their blood was shed for our sins and trespasses.

Here are a few of the Old Testament (old covenant) laws.

Jesus had not yet come to pay for our sins.  So until Jesus came at the appointed time, the people followed the OT laws set by God for various sins.

If you want to read all of these laws, read the book of Leviticus.

Here are a few of those laws.  When I look at these laws, I'm very glad God gave us The New Covenant.

Leviticus

1:1-5    And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,  Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.  If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.  And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.  And he shall kill the bullock before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.  And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.  And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:  And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:  But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

Leviticus 4:1-12     And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:  If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering. And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.  And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:  And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary. And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And he shall take off from it all the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away, As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.  And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung, Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.

There are 27 chapters of OT laws in the book of Leviticus.  

There are many other blood offerings for sins and trespasses in Leviticus if you care to read these OT laws.

But Jesus is our offering for sin in the NT Church.  We enter in by believing in the works of Jesus.

Hebrews 9:22-28    And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that HE should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must HE often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath HE appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall HE appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Now. in this time, Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins.

We live in the time of "The New Covenant".  The blood of Jesus paid for our sins.

But after God has revealed HIMSELF to us, and we are born again, there are many rules (laws) given us in the New Testament to be observed by the church.

Here are some examples of NT laws (rules) to be observed in making our decisions today as Christians.

I Corinthians 7:10-11    And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Romans 7:1-3   Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
  For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.  So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

I Corinthians 7:39     The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

Matthew 5:32  Jesus says:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

(Notice:  The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.)

Mark 10:6-9   Jesus says:  from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;  And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.  What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

11-12    And HE saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.   And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

I Corinthians 5:11-13     But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat ...Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

If a person who is called a Christian continues to do these sins, we put such an one out of the church.  We must not keep company with such.  Paul says a little leaven leavens the whole lump.  We simply do these instructions given in the Bible.

John 8:11  To the woman taken in adultery Jesus said:  Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

This woman must not continue in her sin after Jesus revealed Himself to her and forgave her that sin.

*   Hebrews 10:26-29    For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

* I Corinthians 6:9-10    Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21   Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft (practicing and observing superstitions), hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

If you are a Christian, you must know the Bible is the inspired Word of God and by the Bible we know the ways of God, by HIS Spirit.  

The Bible shows us the will of God.

We, therefore, speak these laws of God (rules of God) and we choose to live by these NT laws set forth in the Bible for the church in the New Testament.  To cast aside the rules of the NT and choose to go another way is antichrist, opposite to Christ, against Christ.

A few days ago, I was awakened with the following scripture:

Amos 5:15    Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:

By focusing on scripture such as those contained in this writing, we establish God's judgment in our own hearts and by refusing to go along with directions contrary to such scripture, we agree with God and we will not be ashamed in the day of judgment.  

Many will be ashamed in the day of judgment, for they will go along with the thinking of today's churches where scripture has been eliminated in part and thereby they will condemn themselves while sitting in those church groups where NT has been cast aside.

But we are of God and we will choose God in these matters and agree with that which God says and hold fast to that which God says for the NT church as is written in the New Testament in the Holy Bible.

As judgment approaches, we hold fast to those instructions given in the New Testament, thus agreeing with that which God says and casting aside doctrine that is contrary to the Bible in the New Testament.
