1 John 2:28 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

1 John 2:28 ... And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

Exhortation:    Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Abide in HIM ...

To do this we must follow HIM ... not doing our own will nor seeking our own things but obeying that which HE tells us by HIS Spirit.

How does God speak to us by HIS Spirit?

The Spirit of God reminds us of those things said by The Word to us.  The Word speaks to us by scripture, by dreams, by examples.  The Holy Spirit reminds us of these things as we are living on this earth.  By these things brought to our minds we know what to do.

Jn. 14:26 ... But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

For example:  Before my mother died, God gave me a dream.  in this dream, I was building a house.  It was in an area of new construction where houses had not been before.  I even saw the exact place to build.

After my mother died, I made plans to move to Lubbock, TX.  I met with a realtor and looked at houses.  Then I met with a contractor.  As I looked at lots, I saw one that was exactly like my dream.  Because of the dream, I built a house rather than buying an existing house.

I simply followed that which I believed I had been shown by the Holy Spirit.

Another dream where I was shown what not to do:  After my mother died, my cousin wanted me to move where she lives.  She said her 2 sons could be very helpful to us.  But God gave me a dream showing me I could not go through my cousin's house to get outside.  I had to find another way out.  I decided to move to Lubbock, TX.  I felt that would suit me.  It is the opposite direction from where my cousin lives.  A few years later, I found my cousin troubled me greatly when I spoke with her.  Now I don't even speak with her for it is futile and troublesome to me.  It is not that I have declared to her that I will not speak with her.  We just don't call each other anymore.  I think both of us trouble each other when we speak.

Concerning use of scripture:

God has often reminded me of Joshua 1 to lead me and to encourage me in the way to go ...  8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.  9Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Here is an example of God using scripture to show me what to do.   When God was training me for the ministry, HE showed me how to operate in the ministry through the following scriptures:

Jesus said  ... I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. Jn. 5:30

"Just speak and do that which I tell you, which I bring to your mind."

I Cor. 2 ... And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

"Don't plan clever things to say.  Just go before them and depend on the Holy Spirit and speak that which is brought to your mind as you go before them."

(I also to this when I am writing these exhortations to you.  I just depend on God and speak that which is brought to my mind, believing God wants me to speak that and to give that example.)

Trying to attend Church of Christ group

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

One Sunday morning, I decided to visit a Church of Christ group.  I was looking for a church to attend.

It was Sunday school class of about 8 or 9 adults and pastor was teaching.

He was in Heb. 11 and quoted the following scripture:

7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

After reading this scripture, pastor asked:  "Did Noah really condemn the world?"

I replied, "Yes ... because Noah obeyed God and because of this obedience the world was condemned because they did not believe God and they did not obey God.

There was dead silence from pastor and the 8 or 9 people in the room.

No one wanted to speak to me after that.

I didn't return to that group.

Hebrew 4:9-11 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Hebrews 4:9-11 ... There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Exhortation ...Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

We enter into HIS rest through prayer and faith.  When we have a problem, we turn to God in prayer, asking HIM to help us and asking HIM to work things out for us and asking HIM to show us what to do.

We rest in the faith we have in God.

We rest in the faith we have that God will hear us when we pray.  We believe HE is there when we talk to HIM.  We believe HE will help us.

We know how the Holy Spirit works to remind us of things so we know God can reach us after we pray.  For the Holy Spirit searches the mind of God to show us the will of God in the issue at hand.  The Holy Spirit reminds us of things to lead us after we pray.

Trying to attend Baptist church

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In trying to find a church I could attend, I visited a Baptist church on a Sunday morning and again that night.

That morning some things happened which I knew were wrong.  Again that evening things were wrong.  I began feeling worse and worse as I visited that church.

After the Sunday night service, I told pastor I felt I needed to speak with him and asked if I could make appointment.

He said he had time to speak to me that night if I wanted to do so.  I did want to.  So we went into his office.

I told him I had been in the morning service, and of course I was there in the evening service.

In the morning service, they turned the service over to the youth group who had just returned from a Baptist retreat.  A young man (high school age) spoke to the congregation.  He said he had a film to show us of their retreat.  He began the film.  In the film, girls were running about with hair curlers in hair.  They were slapping each other with towels.  Boys were doing boy things.  No scripture was ever quoted.  Nothing of Bible was mentioned.  Nothing of God was mentioned.  The film was just teenagers acting like teenagers.

My dad's 1/2 brother's wife was a member of that church group and was at those services and sat by me.  She said to me as they played that film, "I could do without this."

I told the pastor that when we gather as the church Paul said everything should be done to edification.  (I Cor. 14)

Pastor said:  "Well ... I liked seeing it."

============

Also at that service pastor quoted the following scripture:

Mt. 17 ... this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

But the way pastor presented this scripture was by saying,"This kind goest not out but by prayer."

As I sat there and heard him say this, I quietly said, "and fasting."  (no body could hear me say this except for Aline who sat next to me.)

The pastor kept speaking ... and amazingly again he quoted this same scripture but he said again, "This kind goest not out but by prayer." (as I quietly added "and fasting" Aline joined me in quietly saying, "and fasting.")

Pastor kept speaking and once again he quoted this scripture as follows:  "This kind goest not out but by prayer."  (Aline and I both quietly said:  "and fasting".)

I pointed this out to that pastor.  He became very angry and replied:  "I've been doing this 23 years and I know exactly what I am doing." (What it was doing was taking away from the word of God.)

I said:  "I think I've said all to you to that I need to say."  I got up and left, never to return again to that group.

When things are wrong in the church service, we cannot stay there.  If we try to stay in such a place, we will fall asleep.

Poison gas dream:  In 1979,  God gave me the following shocking dream ...
In this dream, I went into a room where a meeting was going on.  There was one vacant seat on the aisle and I sat down and began listening to a man who was speaking to the group.  Another man rushed and went to the front of the room and said, "Stop ... wait ... can't you see ... It's too late!  It's already begun." The first man resumed speaking to the group.  I looked out the window and was shocked at what I saw.  There was a tall, civil defense type pole with a yellow warning speaker on top of the pole.  Out of the speaker was coming a poison gas.  I knew it would kill the people and shockingly the gas was coming from our own speaker which was supposed to warn us.   I looked at the man who was sitting next to me.  He was sitting upright.  He had a big smile on his face.  He was looking directly at the speaker in an attentive way.  But this man was a corpse.  He was dead though he looked alive.  Then I looked at people around the room and they were already dead also.  And as I sat back in my seat, I felt myself falling asleep, dying as I listened to the speaker.

God was showing me church groups today.  The speaker should be warning the congregation.  And certainly the speaker is responsible to God and the congregation for what he speaks.  It must be truth by the Bible.

If it is not truth, we must leave that group.  It is like sitting in a room with poison gas coming toward us.  Eventually it will kill us and we will be as spiritually dead as the other people in the group who have already been killed spiritually by the wrong teaching coming from the pastor.

Proverbs 3:11-12 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Proverbs 3:11-12 ... My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Exhortation:

We are formed into the image of Christ each time we are corrected by the Holy Spirit or shown ways to go which are opposite to the way we were planning to go.

But also we have to be careful for the devil can try to beat us up with thoughts.

Recently Pam Padget told me that she had something happen that morning and she forgot to try the spirit.

I asked her what it was.  She said the thought came to her saying, "You shouldn't have written that."

I told Pam she should know immediately which spirit sent that thought.  Finally she said:  "? The devil. ?"  "Yes", I replied.  The devil is trying to condemn and beat her up.  Had it been the Spirit of God and there had been an error, then God would likely have shown her something that was wrong but the whole way this was stated was the wrong spirit. The thought was from a devil trying to punish her.

She said she did not think to try the spirit to see if it was from God, but she did pray, asking God if there was something she should not have written, and she heard nothing.  But obviously she was still questioning it a little because she mentioned it to me.

The Holy Spirit corrects us by guiding us into all truth, teaching us, reminding us of that which Jesus has said ... Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13

Pastor asking me not to attend his church

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I was looking for a church group to attend.  I called and spoke with pastor at a non-denominational church called "Potter's House." (Clovis, NM, USA)  I told the pastor I was considering coming to visit at his church and I was looking for a church to attend.  Pastor said he would come to my house and talk with me about his church.

I can't recall what pastor said when he came to see me.  I just spoke freely by the Holy Spirit.

I was planning to visit his church the next Sunday.  I bought an appropriate dress to wear.  And I was very excited over getting to go to a church group.

On Friday of that week, I received a phone call from the pastor.  He said:  "You know that thing about your coming to our church.  I've decided that I don't want you to come to our church."

I was shocked!  (There was no plan to speak at his church.  I was just going to listen as other people in congregation listen.)

A few days after this, my doorbell rang.  It was a group of people from "Potter's House".  They had literature and had obviously been touring my neighborhood inviting people to come to their church.

They handed me their literature and invited me to come to their church.

I told them their pastor asked me not to come to their church.

They were bewildered.  Without another word, they left my house.

============

When I was on radio, I received a strange letter from a pastor in Colorado.  (One of my radio stations at that time was in Denver.)

In his letter, pastor said:  "Don't ever try to come to our church."

I'd never even heard of him or his church ...

=============

Another pastor told me he was not going to stand in the church door and keep me out but he didn't want me to come to his church.

Certainly I didn't try to force my way in.  I've never done such a thing.

I was on radio warning the church concerning corruption in the ministry which was the message that was given me at that time.

Psalm 84:10-11 ... Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Psalm 84:10-11 ... For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

When Jesus fed the 4000, we read:  And they did all eat, and were filled:  Mt. 15:38 ... I thought of how filled I am when God gives me a word by His Spirit ... it never falls short ... it always satisfies.

Things of this world may seem desirable to us or they may seem satisfying when we first get them but the new wears off ... and then we want something else.

But the bread from God satisfies and never falls short.

Where is that in Bible?

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In trying to find church group to attend, one Sunday morning I visited a non-denominational group.

Pastor was teaching from Genesis.  As he taught, pastor said, "Sarah and Hagar were 1/2 sisters."

I was very shocked.  Never before had I read that in Bible. I checked Bible and couldn't find that in Bible.  But thinking maybe it was there and I somehow missed it, I called and spoke with that pastor.  I asked him where that is in Bible.

Pastor became very angry when I asked this.  He finally admitted it is not in the Bible.  But he showed no shame in teaching this.

============

Another thing that happened that morning at that church ... It was the Sunday school period and everyone gathered in the main auditorium before going to their Sunday school classes.

Pastor said:  "A terrible thing has happened ... the train that was bringing the Sunday school teachings was delayed and the teaching booklets did not arrive.  Therefore you teachers are just going to just have to teach today from the Bible."

I rejoiced!

Then pastor asked everyone to pray that the printed teaching arrived.    I prayed they would never arrive and that they would always teach from the Bible.

=============

Recently I received a letter from a young man in another country.  He said he is born again.  He asked me to send him books to learn by.

What I would say to him is:  Use the Bible and depend on God to teach you from the Bible.

That is what God showed me to do when I was born again in 1975.  I just read the Bible from Genesis through Revelation and then I start over with Genesis.  I've been doing this for almost 40 years now.

If you are born again and have the Spirit of God in you, the Bible never gets old.  No matter how many times I have read a verse, sometimes God will show me something I hadn't see from that verse.  I just let God teach me.

I Jn. 2 ... 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Each of us who are born again in the NT church today are given the Holy Spirit to dwell in us.

Here is what Jesus said the Holy Spirit would do for us.

Jn. 14:26 ...  26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jn. 16:13 ... 13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Important example of living in peace

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

During the past few days, God has given me an important example of choosing to live in peace while we continue on this present earth.

I have had the same yard maintenance company for the past 8 years.  It is owned by a young man who is in late 30's approximately.  Everything went very well until this season.  Then everything changed.  They would fail to come mow.  Then they would fail to bring key for gate.  (They have their own key)  Then for two weeks in row they unlocked gate but failed to lock gate again.  And there were other problems.  Finally I decided to terminate services and I hired another company.  While there had been peace for 8 years, this season there was no peace.  I felt strongly God was showing me there would not be peace and when I have problem this way, I need to make a change rather than dragging along and trying to work it out.  One problem after another with same company shows they have some form of internal problem and we just have to make a change.

I arranged for another yard company.  Then I was looking in phone book thinking I might call a couple more and just talk with them and see what they had to say.  But when I considered this, I was reminded of the following scripture:

Mt. 10 ... And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. 12And when ye come into an house, salute it. 13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

I knew by this what I was to do in this secular matter.  I've never considered this in a secular matter but I can certainly see it as a pattern of wisdom in a way of peace.

- enquire who in it is worthy ... In seeking a yard service, I called "Tom's tree place".  I've done business with them and like their plants and trees.  They recommended a lawn service.  I called them and arranged for them to come out this week to take the place of the previous service where there was no longer peace nor were they showing themselves "worthy".

If there is peace with the new company, I can continue with them.  If the peace leaves, I can make another change.

But we cannot live in peace when problems keep surfacing.  We can't hope it will straighten out.  We have to come out and "shake the dust off our feet" /  stop letting it trouble you / Stop complaining and take action to obtain peace.

My background in teaching makes me susceptible to hoping they can be corrected ... hoping they will work things out and make changes which are appropriate ... And often I trouble myself needlessly, rather than just departing and arranging for another service.

Several years ago, God gave me the following dream:  In this dream, I had checked into a hotel and was taken to my room.  I was shocked to find the room in disarray.  It had not been cleaned after the previous occupant.  I reported this to the front desk and thought they would clean it ... but they didn't clean it.

God has shown me the same thing about churches.  If they will not correct themselves and they continue in error, just walk away.

If we fail to make changes, the situation can eat us alive.  We will be troubled each time we think of them.  We will not be able to live in peace or to continue in peace.  And we may end up sinning by complaining to others needlessly.  We have to take care of those things in our own lives, both spiritually and secularly.

We have to shake the dust off our feet ...

Some cannot be corrected.  We have to go forth with those who keep their lives in proper order and keep their businesses in proper order ...

Message to members of body of Christ

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Last night, I heard the following message for the church ...

The ministers and their followers desecrate the body of Christ with their false doctrines.  You can't stay among them.
