πŸ’₯ When God gives us a new heart, HIS OWN HEART, and a new Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to live in us and lead us and guide us in the ways of God.

In the Old Testament, most of the people of God tried to follow the Law of Moses.  Try to read a chapter in Leviticus to see what that was like.

God set up a new way through the blood of Jesus and by that way God simply put HIS heart into us and gave us a new Spirit, HIS Holy Spirit.

God told the prophet Ezekiel what HE was going to do in the new covenant.

Ezekiel 36

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:
and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

This is also described by God as the New Covenant which would be those persons born again, having been given a new heart and a new spirit.

Hebrews 9

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15 And for this cause HE is the mediator of The New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath HE appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of HIMSELF.

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for HIM shall HE appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

God would simply change us ... reveal to us our sin by HIS Spirit that we would be saved ... Put His own heart into us, replacing our fleshly heart ... Put HIS Spirit into us so we could then go in the way of God.

Hebrews 8

6 But now hath HE obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also HE is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8 For finding fault with them, HE saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in MY covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put MY laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to ME a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know ME, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

13 In that HE saith, A new covenant, HE hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

So Jesus came in the form of flesh to walk, for a season, on this earth as a man.

But Jesus carried a different way of life in HIM.

Where they had expected an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth, Jesus did something else for Jesus was God therefore God was in Jesus

In the new covenant, God is in that person who is born again.  That new person has a new heart, a heart of God, and a new Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God.   He now lives by the Holy Spirit of God instead of by those things his own fleshly mind reasons.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

I have the Spirit of God and the heart of God, but sometimes when I brush against the thinking of humans I feel a little polluted.

So I pray this:

Psalm 51:10   Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

And instantly God restores HIS heart in me and HIS right Spirit in me.

So I am able to walk in God's way and in God's Spirit again!

(Can you imagine how different Donald Trump would be if God gave him HIS heart and HIS Holy Spirit?  That's all he needs!  That's all anyone needs!  And God might give it to us if we ask HIM!)

God writes our name in HIS book of life when we are given HIS heart and HIS Holy Spirit.

 Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27    And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
