(I'm not a political person. I do not vote for either party or any human. God says in the Bible to pray for those in authority. I have begun doing that on a regular basis and I am living in much more peace as a result. I'm amazed in how much more peace I have in me because of doing this. So in addition to helping those in authority it is helping me.)
The apostle Paul said: I Timothy 2 ... I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

I would like to encourage you to pray for Mr. Trump, current president elect, and our political leaders . I think if we pray with a good heart we can be of help.
I remind us of Herod the evil king who beheaded John the Baptist. (God will judge him and what he has done.) You may not approve of the leader, but Paul in the Bible is saying, "Pray for those who are in authority, even when that king is evil or does evil ."
So that is what I have seriously begun doing in my life and I can witness that I have an additional layer of peace in my own life as a result of doing this instruction from the Bible.

We don't have to pray in an ungodly way. I can simply ask God to help the leader to make decisions.
For example:
* I pray that God would help Mr. Trump to put aside anger and revengeful desires and focus on getting basic things in better condition for this nation and others.
* I pray that Mr. Trump consider ways to get some of the debt owed by USA repaid as quickly as possible.
* I pray that God will help our leaders concerning "give aways".
Long ago missionaries went to countries and taught the people to come to the missionaries and they would give them all types of things.
Many men, from various countries, contact saying they are "pastors", wanting me to send them money and other things such as books and Bibles. Some of these men may be con men. That is one problem with internet. So usually I direct them to our blog, Jesus Ministries Exhortations, where for free they can see everything I write. And I tell them they can copy anything from our blog and distribute it to their church. I do not send money.
I know God supplies all my needs. And I believe HE is the provision for us.
David said: Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
* I pray that God will help USA to deal in ways that will help people to be able to provide for their own families by getting jobs, and working with their own hands, and by leading their own families in providing for their own families.
2 Thessalonians 3:10 (Paul said to the church)
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

I really feel our leaders can be helped by God when we pray for the leaders in godly ways. (And I feel it helps me too when I do this. I have more peace and anger flees if there is any anger hidden in me.)
I pray for those leaders to learn to ask God to give them wisdom, as they begin to make decisions. (I find even church people forget to do this and sometimes I will forget to pray first and God will even remind me to pray first over the situation.)
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Reflect again on this:
The apostle Paul said: I Timothy 2 ... I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

This is the will of God. John tells us if we pray according to the will of God our prayers will be heard by God.
I John 5
14 And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us:
15 And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.
15 And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.

I have an heart and even faith to pray the following: I pray that God give Mr. Trump a new heart and a new Spirit according to the following:
Ezekiel 36 God says:
23 And I will sanctify MY great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.
Pray for those in authority.

When I awake each morning I find I'm usually praying even before getting out of bed, thanking God for the sun when I see light is still with us because I know at the end of this world there will be a period when the sun will "go dark" and will not give her light.
This morning I awoke praying for Mr. Trump and the many decisions he has to make in setting up the transition government. I'm going to try to pray for them on a regular basis as the apostle Paul told us to do.
I don't expect the world to become the church but I do think we can help our leaders by praying for them as the apostle Paul said to do.
Also it is the scriptural thing to do for Christians. (I think you will be surprised at how much it helps you also when you do this with the right heart.)
And if your heart has been filled with hatred toward "the other political party", you have the power for hatred to be removed from your own heart if you are willing.
Pray this: Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
I encourage us to do this.
(We do not have to follow what is happening in news this day in order to pray for the leaders because we can always pray for God to help the leaders and give them HIS wisdom as they do their work today.)
Let us go forth in a godly way as we wait for the return of Jesus ... in peace, without spot, and blameless ... as the apostle Peter said to do in 2 Peter 3:14.
