Book: Exhortations For The Church
Vol. 6, Chapter 10
Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Romans 14 ... For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
*****
Edify is to build up the other person in the faith in God.
If we follow after the things of this present world we will torment ourselves and others.
If we properly conclude the things of this world and turn our minds to God and to living in HIS Word by HIS Spirit we will live in peace instead of torment and we will have that which can edify another in the faith in God.
There are times we have to deal with problems of our household. I like to deal with such as quickly as possible, returning to peace with God as quickly as possible.
But to allow something of this world to drag on when you can settle it is unwise.
Example: I had some 12 year old chairs with cushions and springs which sagged. I found I was injuring my back by sitting in such. I had replaced the cushion 3 or 4 times in each of these old chairs, usually unsatisfactorily. One day I awoke realizing I had to remove these old chairs and purchase new chairs. That same day I went out to furniture store to deal with this matter. Within a few days the chairs had been replaced and removed. (I had the money necessary to replace the chairs.)
If you allow a matter to drag on, you will be bogged down in the trouble.

Often God has said to me, "Stay free ... and serve ME."
Keep yourself free to focus on "things above".
Always remember this present earth is going to pass away ... To invest your time and effort in this present earth is beneficial when it frees you from this present earth so you can focus on things of God again.
But if you are continually fretting over this present earth, you are going in a futile, unwise way.

The apostle Paul instructs:
Follow after the things that make for peace ... and things whereby you can edify another in things of God ...
*****
Peace:
- quiet, calm, silence
- tranquil
- free from agitation, anxiety, dread
- free from disturbance, turmoil
- free from disquieting, oppressive thoughts
- harmony in personal relations
- end hostilities
- not contentious or quarrelsome
- freedom from strife or disorder
- untroubled
If you go over the above list of definitions, and are reminded of something whereby your peace is disturbed, and turn to God with the subject, letting your requests in the matter be made known to God, by faith you free yourself from the matter and go forward in peace. When we live in trouble we often make wrong decisions.
*****
Each of us must work out our own lives so we can live in peace.
We do this through prayer, asking God to help us to see how to do this. Then by doing it.

The apostle Peter says ...
II Peter 3 ... But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.
