Learn to think of God and Jesus as "The Word" for the Word is God.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

From the time I was born again, to me that Word that I heard from God was God.
I knew not to go against that Word.
For that Word was life to me and opposite ways would be harmful to me. I had no doubt about this.

The Word was with God from the beginning of creation.
Then The Word was made flesh and dwelt on this earth for a season and allowed Himself to die so we might come to God through Him, through The Word.
As we do The Word we are recreated in the image of The Word. Over and over during this present life we are recreated in the image of The Word.
As long as we live on this present earth we are recreated by that Word God brings to our mind through the Holy Spirit as we do that Word.
This, The Word, is a way of life.

The Word is not some form of vapor. The Word is not an image of a human that one would try to conjure in the mind of flesh.
The Word is tangible, real, solid. We have substance through The Word. By believing The Word and doing The Word, we commune with God Himself.
HE is our life as we live IN HIM, doing what HE says. Keeping our own flesh under the control of The Word by conforming ourselves to what HE tells us to do.
The Word is joy, so we live in joy and hope when we live in HIM.
And the Word is our peace.
Keep yourself in HIM, in The Word.

Psalm 37
1-5 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord (The Word), and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord (The Word): and HE shall give thee the desires of thine heart.Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in HIM (The Word); and HE shall bring it to pass.
