Genesis 29, 30:1-25 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.
2 And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks:and a great stone was upon the well's mouth. 3 And thither were all the flocks gathered:and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.

4 And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we. 5 And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him. 6 And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well:and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.

7 And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together:water ye the sheep, and go and feed them. 8 And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.

9 And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep:for she kept them. 10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.

11 And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.

12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son:and she ran and told her father. 13 And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things. 14 And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.

15 And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?

16 And Laban had two daughters:the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.

18 And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. 19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man:abide with me.

20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.

21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her. 22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast. 23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her. 24 And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid. 25 And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah:and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?

26 And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. 27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week:and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also. 29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid. 30 And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

31 And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb:but Rachel was barren.

32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben:for she said, Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.

33 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the Lord hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also:and she called his name Simeon.

34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons:therefore was his name called Levi.

35 And she conceived again, and bare a son:and she said, Now will I praise the Lord:therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

Genesis 30 ...

1 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel:and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb? 3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her. 4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife:and Jacob went in unto her. 5 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. 6 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son:therefore called she his name Dan.

7 And Bilhah Rachel's maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son. 8 And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed:and she called his name Naphtali.

9 When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife. 10 And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a son. 11 And Leah said, A troop cometh:and she called his name Gad.

12 And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a second son. 13 And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed:and she called his name Asher.

14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes. 15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes. 16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night. 17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. 18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband:and she called his name Issachar.

19 And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son. 20 And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons:and she called his name Zebulun. 21 And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.

22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. 23 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The Lord shall add to me another son.

25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country. 26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go:for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.

A warning

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

The apostle Peter warned us as follows:

II Peter 3 ... 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Some think they cannot fall, think they will not be affected.  This is not what Peter and Paul told us.

Paul said ... 33 Be not deceived:evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:  I Cor. 15

It is amazing how many people go in directions and speak things that would affect us if we allow it.  I often have to turn to God in prayer after they speak, to be restored and settled again and go in the way of God.  I have no doubt they can affect me in their error.  Therefore I fight, through prayer and by focusing on that called to my attention after prayer.

So beware just as Peter warned us to beware ...

beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

Recently I have come across error spoken by multiple people ... and have been warned not to take these things into me and to fight against their error so I can continue in the way of God.

- One woman was afraid to read Bible for fear she might misinterpret scripture ... But the Bible is given to us by God for the following purpose:

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  II Tim. 3

We trust God to guide us by HIS Spirit through scripture.  But we do read the Bible and often, daily, day and night, knowing the following truth:

Joshua 1...  8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

It is interesting for this fear filled woman recognizes that I prosper and live in very different ways from others she knows.  So she asked me about my way.  I told her I read the Bible daily and try to go in the way of God and that causes me to prosper in all things continually.  She is afraid to read Bible so she goes in way of her own fears.  But she sees in me something she wants.  But she has no faith in God that I can see.  Her faith is in her church and the leaders of her church ... which is Catholic.  (Protestants also do same thing, trusting in their churches and their pastors rather than trusting in God but they do not know this is what they are doing.)

==========

- Another woman rose up recently to go in ways opposite to that which God showed her ... to go in ways opposite to that spoken by Holy Spirit ... and even revealed to me that she thought evil of me though she knew me to be a real minister appointed by God ...

This woman showed herself to be presumptuous (as Peter spoke of), self -willed, and not afraid to speak evil of dignities ... II Peter 2:10

Presumptuous:  failing to observe the limits of what is permitted or appropriate

Speaking evil of "dignities" ... those persons in high rank, in our case ministers appointed by God for the work of the ministry.

She just went along with devils who whispered evils in her ear and she turned from what God said as she did this and followed devils instead of correcting her way by truth from God.

It was incredible to see... very hard for me to see.  And there was nothing I could do to bring her back she was so twisted.  She has become like a wild beast as she gropes about to try to be restored.  Terrible.

================

These terrible things can happen if you listen to the wrong voices.

We must continually turn to God in prayer and focus on those things (especially those scriptures) that show the truth of God and cling to those and continue in them, working on faith and building ourselves up in the faith.

Thus Peter tells us not to let ourselves be drawn away from our own stedfastness by their error ... But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

More than ever, we need to surround our minds daily in Bible.

II Peter 3 ... Reading through the Bible

1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us- ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Psalm 82 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty;
he judgeth among the gods.

2 How long will ye judge unjustly,
and accept the persons of the wicked
? Selah.

3 Defend the poor and fatherless:
do justice to the afflicted and needy.

4 Deliver the poor and needy:
rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

5 They know not, neither will they understand;
they walk on in darkness:
all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

6 I have said, Ye are gods;
and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men,
and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth:
for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Comments by Joan Boney

The persons who are problems will die and leave the earth and will no longer be that problem.  The rulers of this earth disappear and if they come to mind we have no idea where they are now nor if they are even living anymore.

So it is also with those persons who were once held in great esteem in this world.

Where are they now? I often wonder when they come to mind.

James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

We, who are of God, focus on today ... Focus on Bible, on that which God shows us and that which God calls to our attention.  Think on that.  Do that which HE shows us.  Rest in Him, in HIS Word, keeping it before us and in our mind.  Live in today, not in past.

The apostle Paul says ... Phil. 3 ... 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:

Genesis 28 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

Story of Jacob and Esau (twin brothers) continues ...

1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.

2 Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother. 3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; 4 And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.

5 And Isaac sent away Jacob:and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan; (Esau had already taken a wife from daughters of Canaan and this grieved his mother very much.) 7 And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; 8 And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; 9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

(The people today who try to copy the people of God and have not the Spirit of God in them are like Esau ... they always get it off a little ... and in their copy they grieve us who are of God ... Ishmael's daughters wouldn't please Esau's mother either for Ishmael was not of the promise and had been driven away from Abraham's house and his mother took for Isamael a daughter of Egypt. Gen. 21:21)

10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. 11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.

12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven:and behold the angels of  God ascending and descending on it.

13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac:the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south:and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.

16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. 18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 19 And he called the name of that place Bethel:but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.

20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, 21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house:and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

II Peter 2 ... Reading through the Bible

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. 11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls:an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity:the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption:for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Psalm 81 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Sing aloud unto God our strength:
make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel,
the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon,
in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
4 For this was a statute for Israel,
and a law of the God of Jacob.

5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony,
when he went out through the land of Egypt:
where I heard a language that I understood not.

6 I removed his shoulder from the burden:
his hands were delivered from the pots.

7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee;
I answered thee in the secret place of thunder:
I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee:

O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
9 There shall no strange god be in thee;
neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 I am the Lord thy God,
which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 But my people would not hearken to my voice;
and Israel would none of me.
12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts 'lust:
and they walked in their own counsels.

13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me,
and Israel had walked in my ways!
14 I should soon have subdued their enemies,
and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him:
but their time should have endured for ever.

16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat:
and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

Comments by Joan Boney

As we hear from God by HIS Spirit and follow HIM, we are often removed from many burdens.

If we live in this world and choose to read newspapers or see TV  news, we will be burdened with many unnecessary burdens.

When we cling to God, reading the Bible and focusing on HIS Word daily, the language spoken by this world becomes as a foreign language which we do not know and cannot understand.

We are blessed with the "finest" of wheat when we choose God and HIS way.

For example:  God gave me a dream showing me I could not go out through my cousin's house.  So when my mother died, instead of moving where my cousin moved, I ended up going the opposite direction from where she lives.

Her husband got cancer and they went through an entire year before he died.  I didn't even know he was sick.  God had removed me so far from them.  At one point, prior to the cancer, it became very clear to me that my cousin didn't want me to visit her.  I just stopped calling her and she never called me until Thurman (husband) died.  I was so shocked when I received her call.  I would not have been shocked had my cousin died.  She had been sick for years. (She is approximately 83 years old.)  I was expecting a call telling me she died.  But it was her husband who died.

Briefly after her husband died, my cousin tried to cling to me and she would have clinged to me had it not been for the messages I delivered to her by US mail.   She wanted nothing to do with these messages.  One message exhorted her to turn to God in her grief, talking to God.  Two messages had to do with the benefits we have in going into assisted living homes when it becomes too difficult for us to deal with life and how fortunate we are to have assisted living homes when we need them.

Later I learned from another person that my cousin's son wants her to move in with him.  My cousin hates his wife.  She has always hated his wife.  They have 4 adopted children.  My cousin hates these adopted children.  They live in a small town about 90 miles from where my cousin lives.  Her brother also lives in this small town.  My cousin hates her brother's wife.  If my cousin does move there, she will have 6 people around her that she hates.

My cousin like to tell a big story ... and therefore likes an audience.  She and her husband were members of the VFW Post dance hall and bar ... they loved going there and had many "friends" who were acquaintances.   My cousin likes strangers to whom she can tell her many stories.  But she hates daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and the 4 adopted grandchildren.

Amazing how choices can take you into terrible places through pride.  I could tell my cousin took pride in fact that her son wants her to move in with him.  But she hates everyone in the house and even sometimes hates the son.

==========

God delivered me from the burdens of this cousin when I did what HE showed me to do.  Had I not done these things, she would be in my life today and would be a burden ... a load ... a hardship... to no avail.  It would have pulled me down with her.

Another example:  An acquaintance is burdened by the price of gas when it rises.  When we are out together and pass a gas station, she frequently comments on this.  But this woman is an heiress.  She has no need for money and buys what she wants to buy without any hardship and she does not have an income from secular job and does not have to work.  But she frets over gas prices!  This is the way the people of this world live.  God leads us in another way.

Neither do we want to do all the things of the world.  Therefore we have far less expenditure than we once did.

Some people want to travel when they retire ... or even when they get old.  (what a burden travel would be)

I do not want to leave my house.  My contentment and desire is not of this world.  I want to read Bible and exhort the church daily with the words God would give me.  This is my greatest desire.

We are so different from this world because of what God has done with us through Bible.  Our desires are so different.  We are continually fed with the finest of wheat!

Genesis 27 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

Story of Jacob and Esau (The twin sons of Isaac & Rebekah)

The story of Jacob/Esau must be approached prayerfully for in it we see many things which look wrong ... but God does as HE wills and there is an elect of God ... Paul says, concerning Jacob & Esau ... God loved Jacob and God hated Esau even before the children were born, that the purpose of election might stand.

Romans 9 ... 6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children:but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God:but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. 9 For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
10 And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; 11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

Genesis 27:1 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son:and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. 2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:3 Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; 4 And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.

6 And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, 7 Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the Lord before my death.

8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.

9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence two good kids of the goats; and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:10 And thou shalt bring it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death.

11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man:12 My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.

13 And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son:only obey my voice, and go fetch me them. 14 And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother:and his mother made savoury meat, such as his father loved.

15 And Rebekah took goodly raiment of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son:16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:17 And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob.

18 And he (Jacob) came unto his father, and said, My father:and he (Isaac) said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? 19 And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me:arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.

20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he (Jacob pretending to be Esau) said, Because the Lord thy God brought it to me.

21 And Isaac said unto Jacob (whom he thought was Esau), Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.

22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.

23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands:so he blessed him. 24 And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he (Jacob) said, I am.

25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee.

And he brought it near to him, and he did eat:and he brought him wine, and he drank.

26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son. 27 And he came near, and kissed him:and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said,

See, the smell of my son is as the
smell of a field which the Lord hath blessed:
28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven,
and the fatness of the earth,
and plenty of corn and wine:
29 Let people serve thee,
and nations bow down to thee:
be lord over thy brethren,
and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee:

cursed be every one that curseth thee,
and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting. 31 And he also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.

32 And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.

33 And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.

34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

35 And he (Isaac) said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.

36 And he (Esau) said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times:he took away my birthright (but Esau sold his birthright for pottage); and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing.

(Genesis 25 ...  24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob:and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 27 And the boys grew:and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. 28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison (fleshly):but Rebekah loved Jacob.

29 And Jacob sod pottage:and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint:therefore was his name called Edom.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die:and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him:and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way:thus Esau despised his birthright.)

And he (Esau) said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? 37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him (Jacob) thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him:and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?

(Heb. 12 ...   16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected:for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.)

38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.

39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him,  Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth,
and of the dew of heaven from above;
40 And by thy sword shalt thou live,
and shalt serve thy brother;
and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion,
that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him:and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

42 And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah:and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. 43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; and arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran; 44 And tarry with him a few days, until thy brother's fury turn away; 45 Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which thou hast done to him:then I will send, and fetch thee from thence:why should I be deprived also of you both in one day?

46 And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth:if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

(But that was not going to happen to Jacob ... although Jacob was going to run into trouble before he got the wife he wanted)

II Peter 1 ... Reading through the Bible

1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. 13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. 15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Psalm 80 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
thou that leadest Joseph like a flock;
thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh
stir up thy strength,
and come and save us.

3 Turn us again, O God,
and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

4 O Lord God of hosts,
how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears;
and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours:
and our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Turn us again, O God of hosts,
and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt:
thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
9 Thou preparedst room before it,
and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

10 The hills were covered with the shadow of it,
and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
11 She sent out her boughs unto the sea,
and her branches unto the river.

12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges,
so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it,
and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts:
look down from heaven, and behold,

and visit this vine;

15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted,
and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down:
they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand,
upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
18 So will not we go back from thee:
quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

19 Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts,
cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Comments by Joan Boney

God has planted a vine ... but the boars out of the field and the wild beasts come and devour the vine.  The cousins, the worldly people come with all their plans and try to involve me and eat me alive, consume me with their plans, if possible.  They fill me with guilt when I don't go.  Either way they eat me up so I cannot do the things of God.

My prayer:  See this, O God, and help me.  Move them out and deliver me from them.  For they destroy me, even if only for a day.  The ideas they bring are destructive to me.  Free me from them! Turn me back to you and put a shield between them and my mind that I can read Bible and think on your sayings.  This is my greatest desire.  But they would hinder me.  Help me as only YOU can.  I don't want to see things of this world with them.  I want to see things that are unseen, things of God.  I want to live in the unseen.  Help me.  Free me from them.

Psalm 80 ...

13 The boar out of the wood doth waste it,
and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts:
look down from heaven, and behold,

and visit this vine;

15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted,
and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

Genesis 26 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

2 And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:

There is a very strange doctrine that goes about in Christian circles which professes that once you choose Jesus and become Christian everything will go well for you.   This is not what Peter said to us ...

I Peter 4 ... 12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

And Paul says ... I Thess. 3 ... 3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions:for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

Paul warns ... I Tim. 3 ... 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

(back to Isaac / Gen. 26) ... Isaac obeyed God ... there was trouble after that ...

6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister:for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.

8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife. 9 And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife:and how saidst thou, She is my sister?

And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her. 10 And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.

11 And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.

(Remember God told Isaac not to go down into Egypt during that famine.  Isaac stayed where he was because of what God said to him.)

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold:and the Lord blessed him. 13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants:and the Philistines envied him.

(Envy brings trouble ... certainly trouble was going to come though God had blessed Isaac)

15 For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. 16 And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.

17 And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. 18 And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham:and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.

19 And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. 20 And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours:and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.

21 And they digged another well, and strove for that also:and he called the name of it Sitnah.

22 And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not:and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

23 And he went up from thence to Beersheba.

24 And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father:fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.

25 And he builded an altar there, and called upon the name of the Lord, and pitched his tent there:and there Isaac's servants digged a well.

26 Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army.

27 And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you?

28 And they said, We saw certainly that the Lord was with thee:and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee; 29 That thou wilt do us no hurt, as we have not touched thee, and as we have done unto thee nothing but good, and have sent thee away in peace:thou art now the blessed of the Lord.

30 And he made them a feast, and they did eat and drink. 31 And they rose up betimes in the morning, and sware one to another:and Isaac sent them away, and they departed from him in peace.

32 And it came to pass the same day, that Isaac's servants came, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said unto him, We have found water. 33 And he called it Shebah:therefore the name of the city is Beersheba unto this day.

34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.

(Circumstances to come ... arranged by God ... were going to take Jacob a completely different direction from Esau... Jacob was the elect of God ... God loved Jacob and hated Esau even before the twins were born.  Romans 9)

Salvation

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

For close to 10 years I've had the same cleaning woman each week.  She is very good at cleaning.  She is a devout Catholic.  I've never spoken to her the word of God until this week.  She began asking me questions as to how I am so prosperous and unlike other people.  This woman has often showed a love of money and a desire for money.  She was set on fire wondering how I can afford to pay for repairs and am never speaking of money.  So she finally began asking me some questions.

Why am I so prosperous?  (she didn't ask this directly but this was what she wanted to know)

I explained that God leads a godly person.  That we love HIS Word, the Bible.  And as we try to do right in the sight of God daily, God prospers us.

Though I didn't read Psalm 1 to her, this is what I was describing to her.

1 Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I told her how much I love the Bible, the word of God.

She said, "But aren't you afraid you can misinterpret the Bible?"  I replied the pope and priests misinterpret the Bible.  And I told her she, as well as all others including myself, will stand at the judgment seat of Christ where we will answer for that which we have done on this earth whether good or bad.  I told her at that time the pope, the priests, Billy Graham will not be able to help her. She will have to answer for herself.  (Twice I said exactly same thing as I spoke referring to her not being able to hide behind the pope, the priests, Billy Graham ...

Later I realized the Catholic Church was teaching her not to read the Bible, that she might misunderstand the Bible ... just to listen to what they tell her ... Anger arose in me over this.  What judgment could be bad enough for these priests and this church leadership to set up doctrine to keep their people from the Bible?

Mt. 24 ... Jesus says ...   15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves... 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

==========

As I turned to God asking HIM to help me, I had the following scripture brought to my mind.

II Tim. 3 ... 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It is greatly profitable for us to read the Bible, for all persons to read the Bible.

And I was also reminded of Paul saying:

16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway:for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.  I Thess. 2

By their doctrines, both Catholic and Protestant churches, keep their followers from being able to hear the truth and keep their followers bound up to themselves, in essence "forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved," for the doctrines make the Gentiles deaf to us.

==========

But I spoke as led by the power of God ... and at one point I was stopped from speaking to this woman by the power of God.

==========

I had a strong assurance that at the judgment seat of Christ she would be asked, "Didn't my servant tell you these things?"  I did tell her.

==========

A very strange thing came from her ... she asked, "But don't you sometimes need to do things to show you are equal to others or above friends?"

"Above friends?"  I questioned ... "No."

I was physically trembling when the talk ended and she went to her cleaning work.   And I felt this would be the last talk on subject of God.

And further I was reminded of:

Mk. 7 ... 5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups:and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. 12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered:and many such like things do ye.

I Peter 5 ... Reading through the Bible

1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility:for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.  13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. 14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Psalm 79 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance;
thy holy temple have they defiled;

they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given
to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven,
the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

3 Their blood have they shed like water
round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

4 We are become a reproach to our neighbours,
a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.

5 How long, Lord? wilt thou be angry for ever?
shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee,
and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

7 For they have devoured Jacob,
and laid waste his dwelling place
.

8 O remember not against us former iniquities:
let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us:
for we are brought very low.

9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name:
and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

10 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God?
let him be known among the heathen in our sight
by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee;
according to the greatness of thy power
preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom
their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture
will give thee thanks for ever:
we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

They come saying they are Christians.  They come saying Jesus is Lord.  But they worship all manner of worldly things and try to lead me in their path.

They do same today as they did in time this Psalm 79 was written ...

1 O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance;
thy holy temple have they defiled;

they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

  7 For they have devoured Jacob,
and laid waste his dwelling place
.

But I want to think on the works of God, of HIS power and greatness...

we will shew forth Thy praise to all generations.   We think of God bringing the children of Israel out of the bondage of the Egyptians.  600,000 men plus women and children walking out with no provision.  But God was their provision.  God created water for them out of the rock (Christ).  None lacked.  There was plenty for all.  Their shoes didn't even wear out over 40 years.  None was feeble among them.  God fed them daily.  There was provision continually for all.

Then there was Daniel who did not want to eat the food of the world with the people of the world.

 Daniel 1 ... 3 And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes;
4 Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.
5 And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank:so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

(The king wanted to make them fit to be in his presence.)

8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank:

therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9 Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. 10 And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink:for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.

11 Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. 13 Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat:and as thou seest, deal with thy servants.

14 So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat.

They want to feed us with the wisdom of this world ... but we have the wisdom that is from God.

They want us to eat the news of this world ... but God shows us all that we need and everything else needlessly troubles us.

They say we can't be alone.  They plan things and include us in those plans.

We are already fairer than they are who eat at the table of the world.

We, who have the Spirit of God and hear from God by HIS Spirit, have everything already!

Like Saul, they would dress us in their armor.  But like David, we have proven that which works and we refuse the armor of Saul.  We have already been selected and clothed by God.  HE is our shield and armor.

We are dressed in the word of God, in God's wisdom for the moment in time.  And we go in that wisdom.  And we prosper (have good success) in all that we do.

Several years ago, I attended a faith movement church.  But their faith was in their own ability to find a scripture to stand on.  God was leading me to stand on scripture but it was scripture HE gave me at that exact moment by HIS Spirit.

A few years later, I came out of that movement and our Bible teacher came out also.  I was talking with him and I told him I didn't know I was any different from the people in that faith moment.  I thought I was like them.  Don said:  "Joan ... you were never like them."

We both stood on scripture and our faith was in the scripture ... But in their case, they found the scripture by looking with their own minds.  I heard the scripture from God by HIS Spirit and went forward with that which God spoke to me.

Don said all the time in that movement when they spoke of faith, he thought:  "Joan is the one who really lives by faith."

Truly, my faith was in what God said to me.  Their faith was in that which they could discover for themselves.

It was a great gulf between us!  But it looked, at the time, to be the same.  The difference was the Holy Spirit.

Paul told us in the last days "perilous" times would come ... II Tim. 3

It may seem like everything is okay, but from what I see these times are very dangerous "to our soul".

Paul said men would be lovers of their own flesh and have a form of godliness but would deny the power thereof.  II Tim. 3

As we draw nearer to the return of Jesus the scriptures say for us to exhort one another "and even more" ... Jesus said it would get so bad that even the elect would not be saved unless the days were shortened.  But for the elect's sake the days would be shortened.  Mt. 24

Genesis 25 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture

19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son:Abraham begat Isaac:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. 21 And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren:and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord.

23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two manner of people shall be
separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison:but Rebekah loved Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way:thus Esau despised his birthright.

Genesis 27 ...

1 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son:and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.

18 And he came unto his father, and said, My father:and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? 19 And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me:arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me. 20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the Lord thy God brought it to me. 21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. And he said, I am. 25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat:and he brought him wine, and he drank. 26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.

27 And he came near, and kissed him:and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the Lord hath blessed:

28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee:
cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing. 36 And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times:he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? 37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him:and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? 38 And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.

39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; 40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.

 (Gen 26 ... 34 And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:35 Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.)

Jacob (unlike Esau) is going to take a wife (Rachel) of his own people.

Concerning Jacob & Esau, Paul says ... Romans 9 ...

Esau blamed Jacob but it was all ordained by God.

Further as wrong doers often do, they forget they have done wrong and blame others.  Esau sold his birthright.

Hebrews 12 ... 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person (profane means secular/focused on things of this world), as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected:for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
