Proverbs 21:16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
wander:
- to move without a fixed course, aim, or goal
- to move without purpose or direction
- to drift (carried along by an outside force)
In the Bible, we've been given instructions for how we are to live daily. As we do according to those instructions, going that way, we stay in the way of God, on the path of life.
Otherwise, we can easily drift off, often unaware of being affected by influences of the world or devils.

A few of the instructions we've been given are:
I Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant (stay alert); because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Matthew 26:41 Watch (ourselves, what we're doing) and pray (continually), that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
2 Peter 3:13-14 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.
