God told Abraham the time would come when HE would deliver the children of Israel. 400 years they spent in Egypt as slaves after Abraham.
After Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph God did HIS will by that Word God has spoken and delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of Pharaoh and killed Pharaoh in the Red Sea with Moses leading.
God makes a way of escape. And today the same is true. God destroys the enemies of HIS people and makes a deliverance taking HIS chosen out of the evil before they are destroyed.

Lot, Abraham's nephew, chose to live in Sodom. But the men of Sodom were exceedingly evil, from every quarter of the city they came to have sex with the 2 angels (who appeared as natural men but were really angels).
First the angels had to deliver Lot before they could destroy Sodom.
I believe God shows some of us, HIS people, will be delivered from this earth before the great tribulation but others of the elect will be left to go through the great tribulation.
Matthew 24 (Jesus says)
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

(This shows us some of the elect will be on this earth during the great tribulation.)

After 400 years God delivers the Children of Israel out of Egypt led by the prophet Moses.
God tells Moses to go tell the elders of the children of Israel the following:
Exodus 3:16-17 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt:
(I believe if someone on this earth mistreats us, God is aware of that and will judge them and will help us. God will repay both good done toward us and evil. Rest in the knowledge of this. )
Exodus 3
17 (God said) And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

(When Jesus returns, God will take us off this earth and transport us to the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness before God destroys this present heaven and earth with fire.)
2 Peter 3:10-14 (end of this present world)
1 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

(God said to me: You will never have righteousness on this present earth no matter what you do. It is the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. As you wait for that live in peace through prayer and the Word God gives HIS people which will never fail. Endure to the end, until you are taken out.)
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Exodus 3:18-19 ... (To Pharaoh by Moses) The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
19 God says: And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.

God hardens Pharaoh's heart so Pharaoh will not let them go. By this God will bring HIS mighty plagues on Pharaoh and then after 10 plagues Pharaoh not only lets them go but drives them out!
And most of all, the power of God is witnessed by both Egyptians and by the children of Israel when God sends HIS plagues upon Egypt.
(So don't be dismayed by the evil you see today. God will judge. And justice will be done in that which God does. Wait on the LORD. Hope in what HE does.
Fret not over the evil that is done now for know God will deal with the evil.)
Live in peace, knowing God and what HE brings. Hope in God to make it right in the end. Be not dismayed or swept away by the evil.

Is God going to destroy the United States during the coming days? The evil ones today are raised up so all can see. (adultery, fornication, and other evils)
At the time ordained by God, the judgment comes.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (The Word)

So God brought HIS plagues on Pharaoh and the Egyptians ... until finally they wanted no more of the Children of Israel and they drove them out of Egypt.
Exodus 7 God says to Moses: 3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply MY signs and MY wonders in the land of Egypt.
4 But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay MY hand upon Egypt, and bring forth Mine armies, and MY people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

And the same is true in the coming days when God brings the 14 plagues upon the whole world for judgment of the rampant sins of the end times. When they see things happening that only "a God" can cause, such as the sun failing to shine, then all will know something has happened.
Revelation 16 The great tribulation ...
2 And the first (angel) went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Aren't we seeing many unusual things today in weather related events, things much stronger than before ... aren't we alerted?
It's coming ... the day of the Lord with all the 14 plagues of the great tribulation
shown to us in Revelation 8, 9, 16 ... at the time appointed by God ... they will come because of the evil of men living today which we who are of God witness.
By the Old Testament we see how God works.
I Corinthians 10

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
