πŸ’₯ #2. Sharing words given us by God: What has God said to you?

Philemon 1:6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

(Joan Boney)  In 2020, I was shown by God to buy a new car.  We began looking for a car to buy the day following a dream I had that I bought a new car.

As we were test driving an Acura MDX, we started driving out of the Acura dealers lot, and I heard this word from God:  "You should drive a Mercedes."

I reasoned that word away ... "It would be too expensive.  I didn't need a Mercedes.  The Acura which we were driving would be totally good enough for me." and thoughts like that were deeply inside of me.

And we bought that Acura that same day.

It was a very pretty car and very nice ... but very rough riding.  I had previously broken 7 bones in my body at different times since early childhood.

Almost immediately I wished we had another car that rode better.

We drove that Acura for the next 3 1/2 years.  Every time we were out and met another car I would wonder what that other car rode like!

The pain in my body became so bad that I often chose not to go out with Pam when she went shopping.

Finally I realized we needed a car with air-suspension like my old 1996 Lincoln had!

We spoke with a business where they added air-suspension to big trucks.  The owner said he didn't know whether he could add another suspension to the MDX or not.  We would just have to bring the car to him and possibly leave the car with him for him to see if that could be done.

Finally we decided to "bite the bullet" (suffer the needed loss) and buy a new car and sell the MDX.

Pam looked on-line to see the names of cars that have air-suspension today.

We drove a few of those cars.  They didn't seem all that much better than the Acura which we had.

Then I remembered the word I had heard from God in 2020.  "You should drive a Mercedes."

We went to Mercedes dealer.  The first car we drove was not much better than the Acura which we had.  The car salesman said, "You are going to have to drive an S-class."

He brought a demo S-class.  I sat down and said, "NOW THIS IS A CAR!"

The sticker price for the new S-class started at $124,000.

Pam Padgett said, "I'd have to really love a car to pay more than $100,000 for one."

(We began driving up into the nearby mountain.)

I was 86-years-old at that time and do not drive any more.  Pam was driving.

On the way back from the mountain, Pam said, "I really love this car."  It was so easy to handle it was like it turned itself from one lane to the other, almost effortless.  And when it moved on the street it was like driving on glass ... or riding on a cloud!

We got a rather big discount from sticker price because it was the dealer's own demo with 4,000 miles.  And we got $30,000 for the Acura.  So the car cost us $87,000.  (Same price as the new Lexus we had test driven.)

God gave me 2 scriptures to show me it was "safe" for me to spend the money and to assure me I wouldn't need that money in the future.

Psalm 84:11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will HE withhold from them that walk uprightly.

James 1:17    Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

I had cash to pay for the car from the sale of the house in Texas in 2020, and even had money left over after buying that car.  (and I have no debt of any kind)

I'm 87-years-old at the time of this writing.

The car definitely brings many thanks to God each time we get into the car.

We bought the car November 6, 2023.

(Sandra Chupik) ... Dream 3/30/2019: I was riding in a car with someone and was looking at a scripture I had written down, but the last word was faint and faded and I couldn't make it out. In the dream, I prayed asking God to help me because it was very important for me to see this word. Finally, I was able to see the word ... it was "charity."

I woke up and thought "faith, hope, charity these three; but the greatest of these is charity." I went back to sleep and when I woke up a few hours later, I could remember the dream, but I couldn't remember what the word was. I prayed and asked God to please help me and then I remembered it was "charity."

God gave me understanding, because I said "Oh" and immediately thought about how I had lacked charity when I was helping Joan Boney when she broke her shoulder, then later, in another fall, broke her wrist and her hip.

1CORINTHIANS 13:4   Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself (to speak vainglorious of one's achievements; to boast), is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth: ... 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

(Pam Padgett) ... I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in September, 2022.  About three months after chemotherapy and radiation therapy were completed to treat my bladder cancer, tests were scheduled to see the status of the cancer.  Prior to the tests, fears came to me about what the tests might find, and I asked God for help.  One of the ways God helped me was by giving me a dream:

In this dream I was at the urologist's office to have a test.  Then there were 2 plastic bags containing what looked like yard waste.  Doctors or scientists were checking the contents of the sacks, looking for disease.  No disease was found.

After waking from the dream, I asked God what this dream meant and was reminded of the upcoming tests.

Just as the dream showed, no disease was found by the tests when taken by the doctors.  And since that first follow up in April 2023, after the chemo-radiation treatments, no disease has been found on the subsequent follow-ups!
