Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
There are times we will be reading the Bible and a portion of scripture will catch our attention in a way that has not happened before when we have read that same scripture and when that happens it is like that scripture burns through us.
In 2018, this happened twice to me.
I was reading in Matthew 28, and a portion of verse 20, caught my attention.
Jesus sent out HIS disciples and told them to do the following:
Not only did this confirm to me to continue doing what I had been doing, sharing that which God has revealed to me ... but also I can use this to evaluate those writings I plan to share with the church ... "Is this what God has taught me?"

Another verse that burned through me is in I John 5.
A man who said he is a minister wrote to me telling me of his great need for prayer. I told him, "You pray." He kept insisting he needed many others to pray for him.
During this time, I had the following verses called to my attention by God through HIS Spirit to show the truth about this subject.
I John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, HE heareth us:
And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

The letter of the law is when we find a scripture and try to go by it.
The spirit of the law is when the Holy Spirit calls a scripture to our attention and that scripture burns through us!
There is a great difference between our own flesh hunting a scripture and the Holy Spirit revealing a scripture to us.
Jesus says:
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus speaks to us today by the Holy Spirit Who dwells in us.
When we try to be spiritual and quote scripture by our own thinking, we profit nothing. And sometimes we can even do harm by that scripture. You can blaspheme the scripture by using it wrongly by your own flesh.
The scripture is great power when spoken by the Holy Spirit as it is brought to our mind by HIM at the moment at hand.
But when spoken by "rote", by our own flesh, the power is gone and harm is done through evil use of scripture.
