Acts 1:1-2 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which HE was taken up, after that HE through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom HE had chosen:
Comments by Joan Boney:
Throughout the Bible, we see reference to the work of "the Holy Ghost".
Church groups often misunderstand those things done by the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth, communicating with the church members by bringing thoughts and concepts of truth to the mind of the believer by the will of God so we will know the direction to take in dealing with the issues of this life.
Jesus tells his disciples that which the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit of God, will do when HE is given to the individual in the church.
John 14:26 & John 16:13 ...
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer and HE speaks the thoughts of Jesus to us today.
It is usually a tiny, gentle thought and sometimes we fail to recognize Him when He speaks. But I have found when I fail, He brings it to my attention again and sometimes even two or three times I will be reminded of the scripture or the concept that fits the matter at hand.
And when I act on that given me by God, by His Spirit, it works!
