πŸ’₯ Following seducing spirits and doctrines of devils in the end times.


1 Timothy 4

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

7 But refuse profane (secular) and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

We exercise ourselves unto godliness when we meditate in scriptures and follow the word of God in our lives as we live on this earth.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

At the end, people will get worse and worse, says Paul.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (The Word).

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

πŸ’₯ Sexual sins in the church.

 
In the Bible, the apostle Paul tells us what to do about sexual sins when a "brother" in the church commits such:

I Corinthians 5:11;13  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat ... Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Paul calls such:  "a wicked person"

Why?  Because that person knows what he is doing is a sin but he willfully disregards the right way of God as stated in the Holy Bible.

If we know the right way of God by the Holy Scriptures and choose to go opposite, then we read in Hebrews 6, "It is impossible" to restore such an one.

Hebrews 6:4-6  For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,  If they shall fall away (from the scriptures), to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put HIM to an open shame.

The apostle Paul says:

I Corinthians 5:4-5  In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I believe we deliver that person to Satan when we put him out of the church or when we refuse to keep company with such.  

This may be the only hope that person has, for when Satan destroys the fornicator's flesh then his spirit might be saved.  I believe that is what Paul is showing us in I Corinthians 5:4-5.

Regardless, Paul tells us what to do and I would do that one way or another.

If they allow that person to stay at the church, then we leave that church group.

I Corinthians 5:6-8  Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?  7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:  8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

If the church will not follow the instructions given in the Bible, then that is an antichrist church of the end times.

II Thessalonians 2:3-4  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

(Churches will fall away from scriptures and by that falling away from scripture "the man of sin", antichrist, enters the church and sets himself in the temple of God.)

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Antichrist is a spirit, not one man.  The apostle John shows us that in the following.  John said there were already many antichrists in their church group.

I John 2:18-19  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.  19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

These "antichrist" people are those who are religious but are not born again by the Spirit of God, having not the spirit.

John and Paul kept the church under the control of the Spirit when they were on the earth.  

But sometimes antichrist was sitting there among them, even among the elders, and they would take over in the church group after Paul was gone, says Paul.

Paul knew he would never see the church at Ephesus again but Paul also knew some among the elders at Ephesus would take over after he was gone and they would speak "perverse things" to the church to draw away disciples after themselves.

Acts 20  (Paul speaking to the elders at Ephesus)

25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.

26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which HE hath purchased with HIS own blood.

29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Jesus will destroy the antichrist churches at HIS coming:

2 Thessalonians 2:8   And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of HIS mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of HIS coming:

Because they cast aside certain scriptures and did not have a love of the truth that they might be saved, Paul says: 

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Churches which do not love the scriptures, and cast aside portion of scripture to set up other doctrines, will be destroyed when Jesus returns.  (2 Thess. 2:8-12)

πŸ’₯ Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins. (Heb. 9:22)

 
In the Old Covenant, the Jews went to the temple where the priest offered blood of animals to pay for the various sins of the people.  Over and over this was done.

Jesus paid for our sins "once" with HIS own blood.  And by this sacrifice of HIMSELF, Jesus cleansed us of our sins and freed us so there is no more sacrifice for sins as in the Old Testament.

Hebrews 9:22 ... and without shedding of blood is no remission.

So how do the Jews today, who refuse Jesus as their Messiah, and deny Jesus' blood, cleanse themselves from sins since they no longer sacrifice the blood of animals for their sins as they did in the Old Testament?

When we are born again, we accept by faith that the blood of Jesus paid for all our sins which we committed before we were born again.

We come to Jesus by this faith that we have in Jesus.

But if we return willfully to our past sins, there is no more sacrifice for our sins which were paid for by the one-time offering of Jesus.  Jesus would have to be crucified again ... over and over ... but that is not the case.

Hebrews 10

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto ME, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge HIS people.

31  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

But why would we, who have been freed by Jesus from sin, want to return to sin, for which we are ashamed of those things we did in the past?

Hebrews 6

A woman in our little church group once told me of the adultery she committed before she was born again.

I said to her, "But you wouldn't do those sins again would you?"

She replied:  "No."

I believed her and rejoiced in her profession.

The apostle Peter says:

2 Peter 2

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The apostle Paul says to us:

I Corinthians 6

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

After we are enlightened by God to our sin, and we repent, and no longer do those sins, we are made into new creatures by God.

II Corinthians 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

On the night of August 5, 1975, God said to me by HIS Holy Spirit:  "Joan ... you know those mistakes you've been making all these years?  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."

"Sins?" I exclaimed!

And with that I was completely changed by God.  I no longer wanted to do those things that I had done before.  I no longer wanted to be with those people that I had been with before.  I wanted to be with Christians.  I wanted to read the Bible.  I wanted to go to church.

I can't even imagine going back to those previous sins for which I am now ashamed!

And I am continually thankful to God for my salvation.

But the only blood sacrificed for me was the blood of Jesus!

Podcast: Quench not the Spirit (1 Thess.5)

 
 
 
 
We quench the Holy Spirit of God when we are reminded of a scripture or concept of God and fail to speak or write that information.

When I am with another person, and am reminded of a scripture, I share that scripture, knowing it was the Holy Spirit who reminded me of that scripture.

John 14:26   Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

HE simply reminds me of something God wants spoken, and I yield to the Holy Spirit and speak that scripture or tell that story.

Often before I meet with another person, I pray that God have me speak only that which HE wants me to speak.

When I write, I do the same thing.

Then when I am reminded of something, I speak, for I believe it to be God's will.

If I failed to speak when the Holy Spirit reminded me, I would quench the Spirit.

The apostle Paul says:  I Thessalonians 5:19  Quench not the Spirit.

Matthew 13   Jesus says:

44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

When I read the Bible, I'm always looking for "treasure".

For to me the Word of God is as hidden treasure and nothing equals The Word which is from God.

No person and no object is as valuable to me as the Word of God.

The Word of God is above all we could ask or think.

Proverbs 8:11  For wisdom (The Word) is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Psalm 119:105  THY Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:130  The entrance of THY Words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

To love The Word is to love Jesus for Jesus is The Word.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by HIM; and without HIM was not any thing made that was made.

4 In HIM was life; and the life was the light of men.

12 HE was in the world, and the world was made by HIM, and the world knew HIM not.

11 HE came unto HIS own, and HIS own received HIM not.

12 But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on HIS name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Podcast: The end time apostasy comes through the church

 

 
 
For centuries church goers have thought antichrist comes through governments of men.

In the 1800's, the Russians thought antichrist was Napoleon. 

In the 1940's, many thought Hitler was the antichrist.

The truth is shown to us by the apostle John.  Antichrist was already there in their own church group.

I John 2:18-19  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

They couldn't take over the early church with the apostle John there so they left and set up their own church denominations so they could change the doctrine away from the doctrine of Christ.

The apostle Paul also shows us in the Bible that antichrist was already there among the elders of the church of Ephesus.

Acts 20

17 And from Miletus he (Paul) sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which HE hath purchased with HIS own blood.

The apostle Peter warned them telling them of the false teachers who would come among the church.

II Peter 2

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:

And the apostle Paul tells them Jesus will not return until the apostasy takes place in the churches.

2 Thessalonians 2

(In 1982, God said to me:  "The falling away are not people leaving the churches.  The falling away are the churches leaving the scriptures.")

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

As soon as churches remove scripture, antichrist moves into those churches and sets up his own doctrine and that church group follows doctrines of antichrist and this is the apostasy.

This is what we are seeing today in church groups that fail to hold to all the scriptures of the NT.

πŸ’₯ God goes before us and makes the crooked places straight!

 
Here is a promise of God which I find valid for us today

Isaiah 45:2  I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

It is a great comfort to us to know that God has gone before us and fixed everything.

I've had many experiences in my life where that has happened.

By the time I was 81-years-old most of my own blood relatives were dead.

On December 6, 2018, I fell at my house in Texas.  As the ambulance workers rolled me past my front door to take me to hospital, I heard these words from God:  "You'll never see this house again."

I had no doubt that God had another plan for me but I didn't know what that plan was.

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to HIS purpose.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

In the hospital, the day before surgery, a nurse came to my room.  She said, "Before we can do surgery, you must sign these papers naming someone who will be in charge of you in case you cannot communicate with us."

Without any thought at all about this, I answered her immediately saying, "Pam Padgett is in charge of me."

(It must be that God had planted this in my heart because I had never before thought of who would be in charge of me if I was unable to be in charge of myself.)

One of our church group was standing in the room when nurse asked me this question and when I named Pam as being in charge of me.  This woman was shocked.  She responded:  "How can Pam be in charge? She doesn't even live here.  She is 450 miles away."

I replied:  "I don't know how she can be but she is."

This church woman called Pam and said, "Joan said you are in charge of her."

Pam replied, "OK."

At the time this happened, Pam was involved in a project to remodel the downstairs of her house in Colorado.  It had come into her heart to turn one of the downstairs rooms into a bedroom and to turn her downstairs 1/2 bath into a full bath.

During time I was in rehabilitation hospitals (2-1/2 months), Pam flew from Denver to Lubbock, Texas, 3 or 4 times to help me with medical issues, locating a rehabilitation hospital for me, helping me to get to surgeon's office.

Pam met with my contractor after I put the house up for sale.  Pam arranged for an "estate sale" where a business would sell items of furniture and things I did not want to keep.  My contractor moved furniture I wanted to keep to storage.

Pam finished her construction project of adding bedroom/bath downstairs, in January, 2019.  I moved into that downstairs area when I was released from hospital February 24, 2019.

God goes before us and makes the crooked places straight.

God will put in our hearts that which we need to do.  Or God might give us a dream to show us that which is coming.

We do those things appropriate to that which is in our heart or to that which God has shown us.

And when the need is there, the action has already been done.

Ephesians 3:20  Now unto HIM that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

The power that works in us is the Holy Spirit of God who does the following for us:

John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 16:13  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever he shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and HE will shew you things to come.

The husband of a woman in our church group was retiring.  They put their house up for sale in Houston, Texas.  Someone made an offer, but her husband wanted to wait and try to get more money.  But it was in her heart to take the offer and take less money.  She told this to her husband and he agreed and they sold the house and moved to Virginia.

After the house sold, a financial crisis hit the USA housing market.

The bottom fell out of the housing market with prices of housing dropping considerably and sales of real estate ceasing, for most part!

God knows future and God cares for us.  We follow God.

Psalm 23

1 The LORD (The Word) is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 HE maketh me to lie down in green pastures: HE leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 HE restoreth my soul: HE leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for HIS name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for THOU art with me; THY rod and THY staff they comfort me.

5 THOU preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: THOU anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

5 Trust in the LORD (The Word of God) with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge HIM (pray, discussing all plans with God)

Philippians 4

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

In 2021, one afternoon, I was bombarded with destructive thoughts:  "You're 83 ... what if it gets to where you can't walk?  You won't be able to live here.  What if this happens?"

I cried out to God:  "God help me!"

Instantly this was brought to my mind by the Holy Spirit of God:  "God will provide all your needs."

"That's right!" exclaimed,  "God will supply all my needs."  I rejoiced in the word of God and in God's truth to us.

Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (The Word).

Live in peace through God.

In the Bible, we are warned about the end times.  Men will do irrational acts and lose control and the devil will be even more fierce because devil knows he doesn't have much time left.

The apostle Paul said:

Devils send thoughts to humans and if they follow devils they will harm themselves and others.

Revelation 12:12 ...  Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The apostle Paul said men would get worse and worse.

2 Timothy 3:13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

So today we see individuals go into grocery stores, schools, and churches and kill people without cause.

How can the survivors be helped?

When we focus on the following scripture, we are helped, when we believe:

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with HIM.

πŸ’₯ Jesus says: Pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape. What does that mean?

 
Luke 21  Jesus says:

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but MY words shall not pass away.

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

(surfeiting: over indulgence)

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Prayer connects us to God.

As we pray we put our trust in God.

And this causes us to be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Therefore:  Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

When trouble surfaces, pray.

Pray daily when a concern comes to our mind.

Connect to God continually.

Live in peace through taking all our cares to God and putting our faith in God.  For we are God's children, the elect of God, the called of God.  HE is our Father and we belong to HIM and HE cares for us and we depend on HIM at all times.

Acts 17:28   For in HIM we live, and move, and have our being;

Pam Padgett is doing some work in her kitchen.  She called her regular plumber but got a message saying they would be gone for a short time and would not be taking appointments.

She got a call this week from the plumber's wife who makes appointments for their business.

They had taken the children to Disneyland and everyone except her husband and daughter had gotten Coronavirus although they were all fully vaccinated.

Coronavirus is not over.

Pam has had the first vaccination but she still wears a mask when she goes into a business.

Hebrews 6:18:19

18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,

So we anchor our soul and keep ourselves in place, steadily, by the understanding of the truth that it is impossible for God to lie.  

That which we read in the Bible is God's word to us and is truth.

2 Timothy 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

So we grab hold of a scripture and anchor our soul on that scripture and hold fast and endure to the end regardless of the circumstances and the way things appear contrary to the Word.

Isaiah 54:17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of ME, saith the LORD.

Hebrews 13:5  ... for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

God will not fail us nor forsake us!

Hebrews 7:25   Wherefore HE (Jesus)  is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by HIM, seeing HE ever liveth to make intercession for them.

I know what I know because I read it in the Bible and I am certain that the Bible is the inspired word of God as the apostle Paul said it is:

2 Timothy 3:16-17   All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Concerning the way to use the Old Testament, Paul says:

I Cor. 10:1-12   Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

So both the Old and New Testament Bible show us the will of God for the Christians today.

πŸ’₯ When they kill without cause.


Revelation 12:12...   Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

The devil sends thoughts to the mind of individual humans.

The apostle Paul said there would be perilous times in the last days and even told us the reason for such.

2 Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

A person might not have all of these characteristics, but even one or two of these things can cause that person to be very harmful to himself and to others.

The devil also comes into humans to destroy that person, and others also, when possible.

Mark 5

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

2 And when HE (Jesus) was come out of the ship, immediately there met HIM out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped HIM, 

7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that THOU torment me not.

8 For HE (Jesus) said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9 And HE asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

10 And he besought HIM much that HE would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

12 And all the devils besought HIM, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

Devils are violent and will cause a person or even an animal to destroy himself.

Jesus says:

John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Today in USA we see individuals going into schools, churches, and businesses shooting and killing as many people as possible, without cause. 

When I witness such irrational acts as these, usually I think devils.

Devils can cause a person to become "mad", and do things completely against all reason.

Therefore the apostle Peter warns us:

I Peter 5:8-9  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith,

Many people of this world have no anchor.  They often kill their families and then go out and kill whomever they can.

This is what the NT Bible shows us will happen in the last days so we should not be surprised when it happens before our eyes.

And we who are of God must exercise the control of God over our lives when irrational things happen.

I Corinthians 10:13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Hebrews 10

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto ME, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge HIS people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

When devil brings fearful thoughts to you, learn to call on God immediately for help and praise God for what HE has done for you.

In 1975, as a new Christian, not knowing much scripture, when devil attacked me with destructive thoughts, I just said:  "Praise God.  Thank YOU for my salvation."  (And the devil departed and fled from me when I said this.)

James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

And the following is very important.  Be sure you do this.

Philippians 4

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

πŸ’₯ When sins reach the attention of God, destruction comes.

 
The sins of Sodom became so well known that they came before the face of God and that is when judgment came from God.

God sent 2 angels to destroy Sodom but first the 2 angels had to get Lot to come out of Sodom.

2 Peter 2

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

When they flaunt their sins in front of all and boast of their sins in public, judgment is not far away.

God sent 2 angels to destroy Sodom.

The angels explained to Lot:

Genesis 19:12-13

12 And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:

13 For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.

14 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

16 And while he lingered, the men (angels) laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.

24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

There is no shame today in their sins.  They openly commit sins against God, sins listed in the Bible.

I Corinthians 6:9-10  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
