Yesterday the farrier came to trim and clean our horses hooves. Our white horse has been limping intermittently for the past couple of weeks.
We went to the field early and spent time talking to them and grooming them before the farrier arrived.
He did the black one first. Our white one, Winter, has given him some trouble in the past ... trying to wiggle away and waving her head around. She has pushed the farrier and my husband aside then walked away as far as the lead would let her. A few years ago it was necessary to administer a sedative injection prior to the farrier visit. This is especially a problem when she is sore as the farrier picks the dirt out of the underside of her hoof. He does this with a metal tool that looks like a claw. When she wiggles around my husband holds her tighter and commands her to relax.
Yesterday he came to the sore hoof and I prayed for God to help her and my husband to relax. I kept praying until the farrier was done. He removed a rock stuck in her hoof.
It was the most well behaved she had ever been. I praised God and thanked Him for helping the situation.
How wonderful it is to belong to God and to be able to call on HIM for help.
