Freedom from sin

Matthew 7:13-14  (Jesus says:)

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The world wants freedom to sin.

We, who are of God want freedom from sin.

Freedom from sin is The Word of God and doing The Word of God.

Our flesh wants to argue, debate, strive, to win out over others.

The flesh wants to follow after adultery and fornication.

The flesh of man often delights in drunkenness.

The Bible shows these things to be sins of the flesh against God.

We, who are of God, want those things that are of God.  As soon as we are born again, we seek after God, wanting to know more about God, desiring to hear things of God.

Some concepts of God from the Bible which help us to overcome the ways and thinking of our flesh.

*  Our kingdom is not of this world.  John 18:36 

*  God is in control, even of the heathens.  Proverbs 21:1 & Psalm 47:8 

*  The way of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness.  Galatians 5:21

*  The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.  I John 1:7

We cannot pay for our past sins by our own works.  Only by faith in the blood of Jesus can any of us come to God for the blood of Jesus paid for our sins so we can be justified through faith in HIS blood to come to God!

Only the blood of Jesus is capable of paying for sins.

After we trust in Jesus and HIS blood and come to God through HIM, the Bible then shows us scripture to keep us free from sin when we do the Word of life in the Bible.

But it is always the blood of Jesus that pays for our sins and only the blood of Jesus.
