For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

The flesh leads us in ways of the flesh, your feelings, your emotions: adultery, fornication, hatred, debating, arguing, exalting of ourselves above others, drunkenness, ways of various superstitions, defrauding one another
Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
To yield to those ways is a way of death.
The Spirit will not lead us to do the above things of the flesh.
The flesh and the Spirit are opposite to one another.
We, who have the Spirit, have another way to go. But we also have the flesh. So we have to diligently choose the way of the Spirit and go in that way.

When our flesh flares up, we have to STOP, and pray, asking God to help us, asking God to not let us do that which the flesh is urging us to do.
Every time I've asked God to stop me from doing something which I know to be of my own flesh, HE has stopped me.
